Delta Blues Rice Grits - $5.00

First up we have Delta Blues Rice Grits. I'm a California girl, born and raised in So. Cal, so grits were not part of my daily or even yearly diet. My Dad grew up in Maryland and then Florida, so he would eat them occasionally - but I never saw the appeal. I decided to give these a try one morning for breakfast, but I wanted to do them my way! So I cooked them up (they took less time than the package indicated), added some parmesan cheese, some of the tomato sauce below, a drizzle of lemon white balsamic vinegar and some steamed asparagus. It was delicious. I may just have it for lunch again today!

Blackbird Bitter Chocolate Granola - $10.00

This is really great tasting granola. It has cocoa powder, chocolate nibs, dark chocolate, dried cherries, walnuts, chia, and pumpkin seeds in it. I ate this straight out of the bag and it was delicious but I also plan on using it on my Greek yogurt for breakfast or a quick sweet snack.

EFL4

Jar Goods Classic Red Sauce - $9.00

As I said above, I used this as a topping for my grits and it was phenomenal. This is one of the best red sauces I've ever tried - it's perfectly balanced with sweet and tart with that fresh flavor of tomatoes. Eat.Feed.Love recommended using this for New York Style Pizza - which I will get around to making this week!

Smart Foods Avocado Oil - $9.00

I haven't really experimented much with oil outside of olive oil and coconut oil. This is my first time trying avocado oil in cooking. It has a higher smoke point, which makes it great for pan frying or roasting veggies. I didn't notice a huge taste difference but I did really like using it - it is also supposed to be great for your skin and hair because of all the nutrients in it.

EFL5

Red Clay Southern Original Hot Sauce - $8.00

I am not a hot sauce aficionado. I do like adding some heat to my food and I like it to taste like something other than vinegar. This definitely was a great hot sauce to add some heat (it wasn't burn-your-face-off hot) and flavor! I will enjoy using this one for sure.

Two Snooty Chefs Salmon Chemisé - $7.00

I don't cook much with fish because I don't eat it and my husband isn't the biggest fan. So with that said, I haven't used this spice yet. Eat.Feed.Love recommends using it with shellfish, shrimp, crab, scallops, clams, roast chicken, soups, stir-fry, and more. I did crack open the tin, and it smells amazing! It has an aroma of paprika, garlic, and onion that you smell right away; I can't wait to figure out what I want to add this to so I can start using it in my kitchen. The tin itself is packed full of spices, so this will last quite a while.

Verdict: As always, I love my boxes from Eat.Feed.Love. This box in particular has a value of $48.00. Since this is over the cost of the box and shipping is free, I think that is a great value for this month. There's always a great variety of pantry items included, that are high quality and delicious. If you're looking at trying an affordable artisan food box, I highly recommend any of the three curated by Eat.Feed.Love.

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane...the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane...but she's always looking for a new subscription to try!

Fortunately you did not ruin real southern grits which are made of corn! ? So you cooked the rice grit in a way that is typical of a California style dish
