Love With Food Tasting Box
3.9 overall rating
104 Ratings | 38 Reviews

Love with Food is a monthly snack and food sampling subscription box. They send only natural and organic snacks and donate a meal to charity for each box sold. They offer a smaller “tasting” box with 8+ snacks per month, a “deluxe” box with 16-20 snacks per month, and a gluten free box with 10-15 gluten free snacks per month. This is a review of the deluxe box.

lovewithfood-june-2016-brochure2

Each Love with Food box comes with a brochure listing all the products. I really like that they list all the ingredients here and indicate which are vegan, gluten free, etc.

lovewithfood-june-2016-chips

Kettle Brand Potato Chips in Sea Salt (1 oz) – Value $0.66

I love potato chips. I never let myself buy them because I am counting calories, but I will indulge from time to time if I get them in subscription boxes. These were great.

Snapz Crunchy Premium Apple Crisps (0.7 oz) – Value $1.05

I thought these would be a pretty standard freeze-dried apple snack, but I actually thought they had a better texture than most, and they didn’t stick in my teeth as badly.

lovewithfood-june-2016-jerky

Field Trip Turkey Jerky (0.5 oz) – Value $1

I am a vegetarian and my husband is not a jerky fan, so I set this in the free snack area at work.

You Love Fruit Apple Cinnamon Handmade Fruit Leather (1 oz) – Value $1.79

I have gotten a ton of You Love Fruit flavors from Love with Food. Apple Cinnamon is a good flavor combination. This does tend to stick in my teeth a bit, though.

Panda All Natural Cherry Licorice (32 g) – Value $0.71

I am a fan of Twizzlers and such, and this was also appreciated. I think it had a slightly better texture than mass market brands, though.

lovewithfood-june-2016-lentils

Zouq Golden Lentils High Protein Lentil Snack (1 oz) – Value $1.73

These had a great flavor. But, lentils are tiny and the pieces of this snack were so tiny that I dropped as many of them as ended up in my mouth, I think.

Traditional Teatime Shortbread Biscottea (0.7 oz x 2) – Value $1.37

I don’t normally like packaged cookies but these were quite good. They had the perfect crumbly texture.

Torie & Howard Blood Orange and Honey Chews (x 2) – Value $0.44

I don’t eat Starbursts because of gelatin, so these were a nice treat (no gelatin, but not vegan because of the honey, for what it’s worth). I love anything blood orange flavored.

lovewithfood-june-2016-peanut

Soy Vay Thai Style Peanut Snack Popped Rice Clusters (5 oz) – Value $3.75

This package was huge. This brand was new to me but now I am seeing it everywhere. This tasted about like I expected it would and the texture was not too hard.

Wild Garden Hummus Dip in Sun-Dried Tomato (1.76 oz) – Value $0.73

I’ve had lots of Wild Garden hummus before, though this flavor is new to me. I like the product but not the packaging – these little triangles are hard to get the hummus out of without getting it all over the side of the package.

lovewithfood-june-2016-pretzels

Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps (1 oz x 2) – Value $1.26

These are really thin pretzels. I liked the saltiness and the crunch and I wonder if they will ever make a whole grain version? (I try not to eat refined grains.)

Sinfully Thin Blue Corn Popcorn (0.35 oz x 2) – Value $1.52

I’ve seen this at least two other times this year in food boxes. I do like it, though.

lovewithfood-june-2016-literature

Love with Food always includes some product literature and/or coupons.

lovewithfood-june-2016-shampoo

And this month, there were random shampoo and conditioner samples as well.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $16 for the June 2016 Love with Food Deluxe Box. That is about average for this subscription. If you purchase a multi-month subscription (and use code MSA20 to save $20 off an annual subscription), it is a better value. Also, Love with Food recently increased the value of their review points (from 10 to 50 per item, unlike a certain other company that shall remain nameless that took review points away entirely) so you can get snacks for free pretty quickly in their shop. (Their review terms are pretty generous, too. You can write the reviews months after you receive the box and still get credit.)

I bought LWF as a gift for my mom and she LOVES it. It was inexpensive and the red box she gets every month is really fun.
