LOST BLVD MAY 2016 REVIEW - INFO 1

Each box comes with an info card talking about each of the featured brands and products.

LOST BLVD MAY 2016 REVIEW - Info 2

Right inside was a little postcard that said “Lost in Pretty” on the front.

LOST BLVD MAY 2016 REVIEW - INFO 3

LOST BLVD MAY 2016 REVIEW - items 1

Mini Sequin Basket – value: £15 / approximately $21.68 USD

This basket is handmade in Morocco! Unfortunately it’s just not my taste, and I also couldn’t get it to stand up for the life of me. Putting something in it helped a little but not completely.

The Pretty Jewelry Roll – value: $30

I’m using the value off of their info sheet for this because they don’t list a website or company name or anything – which honestly I find a little odd. They are so much about brand discovery and featuring artists and designers, etc., and in this item’s description they even say they “had the wonderful opportunity to meet the wonderful women who made [these jewelry rolls].” Even more that leaves me wondering “Okay… so who are they??”

That being said, this jewelry roll is pretty. I like the floral designs. Again, this isn’t an item I’ll use – this will get swapped!

LOST BLVD MAY 2016 REVIEW - items 2

Here’s a look inside the jewelry roll. It feels well-made and I think the zippers inside are really handy.

LOST BLVD MAY 2016 REVIEW - items 3

Cailyn Cosmetics O Wow Brush – value: $32

This is a really interesting item; apparently it’s a Korean beauty thing right now. The info card says it’s a brush designed to help blend and apply foundations (liquid or powder), primers, creams, etc., though I think it’s really made for foundations. It has short, soft haired bristles on its dome-shaped brush head. I tried it and it took a little getting used to, but I liked it's alright. I don’t think it changed my life or anything, but I’ll give it a few more tries.

Triple C Clickie Selfie Remote in Rose Gold – value: $20

This is so pretty! It’s a handy little thing to have around. I also like how it has a little space to stick it on a keychain.

Here’s a closer look at the selfie remote.

LOST BLVD MAY 2016 REVIEW - items 5

Here’s a better look at the brush. It’s supposed to stand on its own (it does, though falls easily) and comes with a little slip-on cap to keep it clean.

LOST BLVD MAY 2016 REVIEW - items 6

Cailyn Cosmetics Dizzolv'it Makeup Melt Cleansing Balm – 50 ml, value: $24?

This is a great product! I’m happy to have discovered it. It’s a balm for removing your makeup. It works really well on my eye makeup, especially, but helps with my entire face. It feels oily right away but once you rinse your face that feeling goes away.

Cailyn Cosmetics Pure Ease Brush Cleaner – 50 ml?, value: $9

I’m happy with this brush cleaner, too. It works very well and very quickly. I did a few girls’ makeup for prom recently and used this in between girls to clean my brushes and it worked well.

LOST BLVD MAY 2016 REVIEW - items 7

Here’s a closer look at both these items. Looks like Cailyn Cosmetics is a new brand I like!

LOST BLVD MAY 2016 REVIEW - items 8

Umgee Kimono – value: $68

I think the print of this kimono is very pretty, but boho just isn’t my style. I also don’t think this particular kimono feels like an expensive, $68 kimono – the material feels light and stiff. However, like I said, the print is really pretty and I know many people out there will love getting this anyway.

Verdict: Last month’s Lost BLVD wasn’t my taste, and unfortunately this one isn’t really, either, but that’s just because of my personal taste. This time it’s because these items are very bohemian, which isn’t my style. The value adds up to $198, which is great! And I discovered a few new products I really like from a brand I’ll have to keep an eye out for.

Lost seems like an appropriate name for this sub. The price point is way too high for some of the cheap looking items in the box. The kimono is cute on you Haley…I always love reading your reviews and seeing the clothes and makeup on you. Great review for a not so great box.

To me, their prices seem inflated and the value isn’t there. I’d use a few of the items, just not at this pricepoint.

You may not like the kimono style but those colors look good on you

Great review, but this box is just way over priced for the items. The kimono, the sequined thing and the jewelry roll look like cheap flea market items. I like catylin, i think they are over priced. The price point is just way to high for this, perhaps if it was around 35, i would think it was ok.

To me, this looks like a bunch of things you would pick up walking around Chinatown (I’m from NY) with one or two high end items thrown in. I can’t get a sense of what they’re going for…I’m just not sure what they want their “identity” to be.

Lol I actually had the same thought!! (I live in Chicago and was just in Chinatown a couple weeks ago)

I completely agree…at this price point they need to majorly up their game in my opinion.

my thoughts exactly (also from NY). sequin basket & jewelry roll seriously look like the ones I just passed by from $3 grab bin thrown in the sidewalks of chinatown.

hopefully next few boxes will portray a clearer identity than this.

I adore Cailyn Cosmetics and they’re always on top of Kbeauty trends! but the price is often too high for my budget :'( Glad to see them featured.

I like this month a lot better than the previous month, but I still think $75 is crazy for these items.
