Loot Pets Subscription Box Review + Coupon June 2016 - card

Each month includes this information sheet. They recently changed these, now, each bit of information about each item is in card form – you can snap these right out if you want to collect them.

Loot Pets Subscription Box Review + Coupon June 2016 - shirts

Dogtopia shirt – Value $25-30 combined?

This month’s shirt is a dog’s dream. Dogtopia. Where burgers rain from the sky.

Unfortunately, they sent us a Large dog shirt instead of a small. So, here’s is Buckles in his brand new nightgown!

Loot Pets Subscription Box Review + Coupon June 2016 - toy

Grab A Bite Toy – Value $11-12 on Amazon

This month’s toy was great! You could have received a hamburger, hot dog, or pizza slice dog toy. We got the pizza slice – which suits Buckles much better since he can actually bite down on the squeaker.

Loot Pets Subscription Box Review + Coupon June 2016 - treats

Bliss Burgers Treats – Value $5-10?

These little patties are hard, almost a jerky. Buckles actually didn’t really like these. It’s rare that he takes a bite of something and doesn’t finish it – this was one of those times.

Loot Pets Subscription Box Review + Coupon June 2016 - charm

Dystopia Charm

Every month comes with a dog charm (think of it as the monthly pin) – this month is a Dogtopia hydrant.

Verdict: I know – not enough Buckles pictures – unfortunately it’s been raining the past three days. This wasn’t our favorite month of Loot Pets. Since you’re only getting 4 items, when the dog doesn’t like one of them – the value takes a big dip. With Buckles not enjoying this month’s treats, it really comes down to 3 items – and only 2 items for the dog. I get the idea of including a shirt for the dog and the person in the box – but the initial boxes felt like they had much more value. If they keep up the dog/human shirt idea in their boxes, I’d like to see them do something more fun. Don’t just use the same graphic, but do something specifically for the dog and something specifically for the human – it’d be unique and fun!

  1. I thought this box was really lame. I thought the geeky matching shirt idea was cute. I would NEVER wear this shirt – there’s nothing “geek” about it. And the toys were tacky. I got a hot dog. What is geek about that? And my dog hated the treat. I didn’t find this worth the price at ALL. Very very disappointed. Not sure I’m willing to get another box. It’s a shame, it’s a cute idea – if they kept with the nerdy theme it’d be awesome. But I can get a pizza toy or a hot dog toy anywhere.

  2. I’m cracking up over the Buckles nightgown!

  3. I kinda wish they had an option to just get a matching or coordinating geek dog shirt added to your main LootCrate. That would be a better Level-up to me. My dog has a strict diet and I just don’t trust the treats they are shipping with the boxes, and he devours most toys. He is perfectly happy in a shirt though, it comforts him. Bummer.

  4. This was my first box with them and I wasn’t super impressed. I think I have a 6month sub, so hopefully they will redeem themselves. I just feel for being the “geeky” dog box there was nothing in the box that lived up to that idea.

  5. This was going to be my first box, but it will maybe become the last as well. I didn’t like the products too much, and, to top it off, they sent it to the wrong address. Now I’m waiting for a replacement while the original shipment is returning.
I guess I was expecting something more “geeky”.

    • The same thing happened to me… “address not found”. And I just got the replacement box and it sucked. Logged in to cancel my subscription and for some stupid reason I guess I signed up for a one year membership so i’m stuck through February. They asked what they can do to make the boxes better so I told them this: “Make it more about the pets, and keep the geeky/nerdy/gaming theme. When the matching tees for adults were added, it was a warning that you were running out of stuff to include. But it was still gaming/nerd related so I let it go. (The comic book was dumb as well, as my dog does not read) And then last month the box included a regular dog toy by kong that I can get anywhere (my dog loved it tho). If the subscription boxes were going to contain non themed toys I would not have switched to loot pets from Barkbox. Finally the last box was the biggest disappointment. Not a single item in the box was nerd/gaming theme. NOTHING.The first 3 boxes were great, but now I regret signing up for a one year subscription. I hope the boxes improve before my subscription ends in February. ” So disappointed with them. Guess I’m back to converting plushies from my arcade block into dog toys (restuffing with safer materials, and adding squeakers) so that he can have cool toys.

  6. I’ve been really disappointed in this box since they changed to the human + dog shirt. The nerdy toys are gone, now it’s just generic dog toys I could get from Walmart. The interior box art is gone and there are just fewer items for the pet all around. I wish they would go back to the previous version, where you got a matching shirt by subbing to the main crate and the pet crate.

  7. Love this box! I always read the reviews because I look forward to seeing the matching shirts! Buckles is a super star in his new “nightgown”! The look on his face is priceless 🙂
