  1. First, love the bag. Second, if I get one more mother effing brush I swear ?

  2. I think the mascara may be It Cosmetics

  3. What an ugly bag. I generally pass on bags (keeping the May one, it is been my favourite ever probably), so whatever, but this may be the worst one I’ve seen. Really hoping to get the UD rather than theBalm, though. I love theBalm, but I have a lot of their palettes and such, while I really only have two of the Naked palettes (I want a colour!!). I like masks so getting one would be great, but I don’t want more mascara since I got the Smashbox one in May and have a lot of deluxe samples of mascara I’ve yet to use.

  4. Seriously ’bout to drop this subbie. If it weren’t for the brushes I’d have dumped Ipsy last month. I like this new bag but after I’m ready to move on. And I didn’t receive my last bag; thankfully they responded quickly and sent a replacement. I have to commend them for that. But when did they become subpar to Birchbox? When?

    • Oh god never. Birchbox is horrible compared to IPsy. Seriously? They are not even comparable I had both for two years and every month I would open IPsy and be like omg all this for ten bucks then birchbox would have nothing… A pen… A fortune cookie! Horrible!

      • Lol. I got a pen once when i was a first time subber to them. I didn’t know/care enough about the points system at the time. That makes it worth it. BB seems better for me this time, but I agree LOVE ipsy, especially for $10.

      • Totally agree.

  5. For me, the bag will go straight into the trash because I find it to be all shades of hideous. I’m not sure I can find words to describe how repulsive I find it.

As for the items, I’m not wowed by any. I would like the brush, though, because I really love getting brushes.

  6. The bad itself is always an exciting reveal for me.,The June bag . . . Well, it’ll be used to hold a gift card or something or passed on to my nieces to play with. That is just not my style, though it has a kind of 90s nostalgia to it. Plus it’s the same old design we’ve had so many times, with the zippered opening lower down from the edge.mi find it makes it harder to put things like brushes inside. And I’m just kind of tired of it, though I only say this because I’m already commenting on the bags in general; it’s not a huge bother or anything. Just a bore.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, I thought May’s bag was absolutely TERRIFIC! I LOVED the unique print of famous landmarks, and the color was really cute, too. The flap-snap design stood out, and it felt like it was higher quality than some past bags, and it was definitely larger. Altogether one of the best in many months. It’s hit or miss, but the hits make up for the misses. Plus little cosmetic/anything pouches are handy no matter what they look like.

For example. have Ipsy bags put to good (and good-looking) use all around the house, holding hair bands and bobbypins, cash, a bunch of lip balms, stamps, receipts, yet-to-be-used gift cards – and speaking of gift cards, I often use Ipsy bags to hold small gifts. I even use them as cases for my (inexpensive) sunglasses. It’s like I have a bonus subscription for cute lil pouches, baggies, whatever you wanna call them! Very fun!

    • I hate it when I make a typo (or two, or three) in the *very first line* of a comment. Sigh.

    • OMG! The gift card holder is a great idea! I literally only own 3 IPsy bags because every Bday or mothers day I stuff it with gifts and give it away. It’s a perfect gift holder and everybodyoves it!!

    • The sunglasses idea is good! Thanks for the tip!!

  7. Haha i’m 32 and the bag itself will definitely be passed along to my younger sister (21)
Other than that I love ipsy and it’s fun to our try new brands/products! Keep it up ipsy

  8. So can’t wait. I love the bright bold designs on the bag. Keeping my fingers crossed I get good stuff this month

  9. I am excited about the items and I love the bag.

  10. I subbed last month to send to my stepdaughter. She loved May’s box and I’m pretty sure she is going to love this one !

  11. Ugh. I’m sick of Be a Bombshell cosmetics. Everything I’ve owned from them has been awful. I don’t have sensitive skin, but it makes me break out, rash, etc. Their lip glosses are always sticky too.

    • I agree, i’ve never had any luck with those bombshell samples..

      • Same here…I’m so sick of that and bella pierre and hikari. I thought for a split second I’d sign back up because of the UD but I bet I’d get the crappy balm thing…I never got anything high end when I signed up for Ipsy…NEVER

        • Don’t forget ModelCo.

        • Ipsy’s bags have become a rotation of 3 or 4 of the same dozen or so brands, with a few rarer ones now and then. Part of me likes that, since I like to get Smashbox, UD, CoastalScents, or Pixi, but not when I’m tired of brands I haven’t had success with or just find average, which are pretty much the same ones everyone’s naming. (But I don’t agree about BellaPierre; I carry a lipgloss of theirs in my purse; the shade of it is very similar to a Bobbi Brown I lost a long time ago, and I love it.)

I like the idea of a subbie that introduces me to *new products* from the *same brands*, a set of maybe 15 or so solid names, rather than a subbie that introduces me to *new brands*. There are plenty of those, and, like Ipsy, many have turned into what I’ve described, but not quite my ideal format

So, in my “ideal”, there would be a list of 30 or so brands: CoastalScents, UD, Smashbox, theBalm, etc. (sticking with Ipsy brands in this example), varying price points and brand images, but “known quantities”, you could say. From that list I could choose 10 favorite brands of which one would be guaranteed to be in my monthly bag, and (up to) 5 which would never be in my bag. Then there will also always be 2 “guest” brands each month, which are always a surprise.

As for whether I get glosses, lipsticks, skincare, or eyeliners, I don’t get to specify such detailed preferences. By indicating my preferred brands, i sort of show what I like, such as if I picked Anastasia Beverly Hills and Butter London, it’d be fair to say I like brow stuff and nail stuff. If I pick Urban Decay, well, I can’t be too picky beyond that. It’s UD.

But each month I’m introduced to new products, like Smashbox’s Primer Oil, new trends, like colorshift eyeshadow, or new trendy shade families, like Golden Turquoise, all from brands I already know, and mostly already trust and like, so I’m willing to devote a little more time to playing with them. AND I’m still getting introduced to new brands, too, they’re just not the whole schtick.

The benefit to the companies is that they can push products that sell best through hands-on experimenting, which I think we agree is better by far at home than in-store. And they can promote more unusual colors or products or test-market new stuff.

The Guest brands get the prestige of being associated in our minds with brands we already really like, so they’re instantly in the same tier as the others, in our minds.

Obviously I thought this out as I was writing it. But do you get the gist? Trade one form of customization for another? Get stuff you are more likely to appreciate? Am I making any sense?

It’s almost 3 a.m., maybe I should put a pin in my brainstorming/daydreaming and actually start night-dreaming. ? I love my night skincare routine. It’s a truly soothing and special ritual that prepares me mentally and physically for my beauty sleep!

No rereading this for typos before I hit send; I’m living on the edge and taking you with me. You came this far, after all.

        • Omg I loved loved lovEs my hikari bromzer last month and full size!!:) and I love model co. And ofra!! They are amazing!!:) and expensive products!:)

        • Hikari and Be a Bombshell are owned by the same person (Tonya Thompson). I think they are basically the same private label manufacturer products with slightly different packaging and colors.

    • Same! I haven’t liked a single Be a Bombshell product. They either look terrible on me, have a bad texture, or just don’t stand out in any positive way.

I DO like theBalm, but I can’t get over seeing them as Benefit wannabes, you know? I don’t know which one has been around longer, but they’ve both been around a long time, at least since I was in college in the early 2000s.

As deluxe sample sizes, they’re nice’n’handy, and I’ve liked the eyeshadows and cheek tints – but only as minis. I wouldn’t buy full-size, because I feel like there are better products, even maybe just slightly better, at comparable prices. But I love getting minis of theBalm brand because it *is* a good quality cousin-of-Benefit, and the samples are so generous and nicely packaged.

(I have an odd little problem with theBalm eyeshadow palettes though, because the ones I’ve seen, at least, have the shadows lined up but each is tilted in a different direction. It’s supposed to be irreverent, I guess, but it looks wonky and for some reason particularly irks me. I know, I know, #firstworldproblems. Oh well. It’s a good “problem” to have – that’s one less palette I buy!)

      • I always associated the balm with benefit, too! It took me awhile to realize they were separate brands. I agree with the odd layout of ‘the balm’ palletes. I can not see myself purchasing one for that reason alone.

  12. Oh man, I just got this sub as a gift for my 55 year old mother and this is the first box….she’s going to wonder what I was thinking! lol

    • I just did it as a gift for my 57 year old mom, she’s probably going to wonder the same thing!

    • I’ve had the Ipsy box for a while now and in my opinion it is catered to young people. You should try the Fab Fit Fun box. I got that for my mom and she loves it. She’s 51.

    • Girls, your mother will love the thoughtfulness! I’m 60, and used to teach High School. I subbed to BB, Ipsy and Allure in hopes of updating my skincare routine and make-up closet (Sadly, I think There were items from the 80’s on…lol). I’m loving every box and am having a great time with all the items. Until receiving the boxes, I had never tried a home mask, dry shampoo or salt water spray. ?

      • Alyce,

You are so right! In fact, I dare say any mom would appreciate the fun of a subbie like Ipsy, and have great fun trying out and swapping products with their daughters (or granddaughters, nieces, neighbors, whatever!) What a fun bonding opportunity!

my 62-year-old mom has always been hipper than me, and I used to frequently “borrow” her makeup (and get calls at 7 am while she was getting ready for work, “I NEED MY ORGASM!” (The NARS blush, in case anybody somehow hasn’t heard of it.)

She joined all these beauty boxes and fashion services before I knew they existed! My friends tell me I have the youngest-looking, most beautiful mother, and it’s a very high compliment to be told I resemble her – in any way.

Ladies, you know your moms – would they ever say no to fun?

    • Oh I know she’ll love the contents, she’s been drooling and coveting my Ipsy bags for a while now. She was in love with the last bag. This one she’s going to take everything out and hand the bag to me lol.

  13. I’m sure I’ll get that dang Be a Bombshell?. I did go in and take lip products out of my profile in hopes I won’t get this brand.

  14. Dang, be a bombshell is back. I hate that line. I haven’t liked a single item from them and I always get them when they are offered.

    • And the Balm isn’t much better, somehow I always get be a bombshell and the Balm products when offered hate both of them.

  15. I guess the bag design will appeal to high schoolers.

    • Ha! I always suspected that I may be immature. I really like this bag and I’m 40. : )

      • I’m with ya Kelly! I signed up again just for this bag!! I’m 32 so… whatever! I love graffiti style stuff and bright colors, and I have so many “demure” ipsy bags that this was a breath of fresh air.

      • I’m 44 and I like it too 🙂 Beats all the boring stripes and florals I have in spades.

        • I’m 48 and got so excited with the bag, I guess you’re only as old as you act, feel, idk lol

          • Ok so I am 50 and I love the bag lol. I think it will be fun to have as my make up bag in my purse for the summer. The bright colors are great for summer.

          • I’m also 48 and love this bag. High school? Pfffftt. Whatever.

          • Totally lol!

      • eh…I am 50+ and like it too! 😀

    • I’m almost 32 & I think it’s a pretty rad print

  16. I’m so excited. 😉

  17. Okay, so here is everything I’ve seen so far.
    The eyeshadows:
-Urban Decay in Lounge or Fireball
-theBalm Matte Trimony in Matt Kumar and Matt Moskowitz
    Picture:
-Crown Brushes- mini Blush! Bronze! Illuminate! Palette
    – Biorepublic Pomegranate Crush illuminating and Cucumber Breeze soothing fiber masks
    – Rodial Stem Cell Cleansing Cream
    – Klorane Soothing Cornflower eye makeup remover
-Be a Bombshell Pout Potion in Secret and either Dazed or Famous?
-Doucce Cosmetics Boombasic Lash Volumizing Mascara (which looks amazing btw )
    – I can’t tell what brand, but a cute ass blue double ended blender/smudger
    Video:
-MiraBella Beauty -Magic Marker Eyeliner in Very Black
-Colourpop Creme Gel Eyeliner in Swerve (matte black) and Get Paid (metallic bronze)
    – Dirty Little Secret cosmetics Baked Highlighter in Bellisima
    -Jouer Highlighter in Tiare
-I spotted Sally Hansen Miracle Gel polish and top coat at the end
In the video I noticed a lot of matte lips so I hope that there will be some liquid lipstick or something. Also Cydnee was what I think may have been the Luxie Rose Gold Pro Precision Tapered Brush. Idk if that will be included but I did notice a nice Luxie face brush :3

    • Thank you for taking the time to type that all out for the rest of us to see. I watched the video but then couldn’t really remember what I saw. It went by so fast. Nice to be able to just look at a list of it. It looks good. But PLEASE Ipsy no black eyeliner or bronzer for me.

    • Thanks Tiffany

      • Thank you for the list! This is my first bag and I’m excited! I’m not too picky as anything I don’t like, my 7 year old will love. She all ready claimed the little bag.

    • Thank you, Tiffany M.!

    • I would be happy with every damn product you mentioned im psyched!!

  18. Oh, man, I really do not want more Be a Bombshell products. I removed lip gloss from my ‘likes’ in hopes that I don’t get this.

  19. love that bag. i may resubscribe for the bag if they waive the waitlist

    • sometimes if you resubscribe there is no waitlist. and if you do get put on the waitlist, then email them and tell them you want to cancel the waitlist and usually it turns out that you were about to get off it anyway and they will offer to “activate” your subscription immediately. funny how that works out. lol

      • I resubscribed (after a very long hiatus) with no waitlist about a month ago. Didn’t even know there was one. Huh. Makes me wonder if because I still had an account so wasn’t techically “new” that I was able to skip it. That or there was a waitlist right after, maybe after the UD teaser, I dunno.

  20. And this bag is going up for swap hah. I’ll probably also swap whatever theBalm shadow I get and the UD one unless its the Fireball shade… sooo perhaps this month is a dud for me so far 😛

  21. i would love to try the UD and I think its crown… and I love the bag think it might be my favorite so far!!

  22. Umm…it’s different!! Not sure if I like it…just whatevers inside please no no no no more shocking pink lip products!!! Please. I really tried to like them, I just can’t do it and don’t know what to do with all of them!! I have about no joke 20 or 25 and they are all great brands just bad color!! Can’t do swaps cuz I have to try them first!! Why do I do it!! Argh

    • You could mark them as used and say you swatched them first! Sometimes I’ve swapped for those if I know it was only swatched!

    • Bellas right. I swap for items of I knew they were only used once too. You should try putting them up for swap 🙂 but I agree with you the super bright pink lippys are getting out of hand. Lol

      • I tone down the bright pinks and reds with the too face melted Chihuahua shade from glossybox. Meet Matt(e) Hughes in Committed works well too.

  23. LOVE the June bag design! This is probably my favorite yet!

  24. I love IPSY can’t wait for my bag!! YAY!!

  25. I love Ipsy, I think everything looks fun and for $10 you can’t beat it!

    • I agree thank god there are some people
On here that realize IPsy is hands down the best beauty sub at 10$… I can’t believe the products I get every month! Most are full size and the bags are always worth at least 60$ or more! I kept IPsy and boxycharm and got rid of birchbox and glossybox!! Best decision I made!:)

  26. There’s a video on Ipsy’s website that is supposed to feature spoilers.

Showed Colour Pop eyeliner-two variations a black and a color, Get Paid
Tiara highlighter- don’t remember the brand
I think I remember seeing Sally Hansen gel nail polish colors.

There were quite a few other things that I don’t remember

    • Whoops, I meant Ipsy facebook!

    • Thanks!! I’ll add it to the post 🙂
