This month’s Gift Izzy box was a Summer Sunset Nights theme.
Victoria Shorten’s brand VSL jewelry has been worn by Fergie and Britney Spears on tour. This particular cuff is elastic, sparkly and very weighty. It *just* fits my small wrist so I’m not sure it would work for everyone. I think it’s very pretty, but I don’t see spending $220 on an elastic costume jewelry bracelet. This is why I love subscription boxes, a beautiful bracelet at a fraction of the retail value! I think packaging this in a separate jewelry box was a great idea because it would make a great gift as well. I don’t see this exact bracelet for sale, but a larger version is selling for $550.
The Aloe Vera gel smells like spearmint and is very cooling to the touch. Moisturizing and soothing, it’s ideal as an after-sun balm but can certainly be used anytime. I’ll be packing this for our next vacation to Florida.
Di Potter Wine Glass Shades – $10.00?
This is certainly something I’ve never seen in a subscription box before. These are paper shades that can be wrapped and attached around a wine glass to act like a lamp shade. The set included flameless tea lights to set inside the wine glasses to provide the light itself. I’m sorry, but we only have stemless wine glasses right now so I wasn’t able to take a photo showing the shade on a stemmed glass. However I included an image from Amazon’s website so you can see what they look like assembled. These shades are sold as a set of 6 on Amazon for $18, but since I was given 2 (plus tea lights) I guessed the value at $10.
The cheddar and caramel corn both tasted good and were fresh. These sized bags aren’t sold individually on the Pops Corn site so I’m guess on the value.
Verdict: I really enjoyed my Gift Izzy box again. The value is about $248 which I think is amazing. I like the hero item (bracelet) and thought all the other items went well with the Summer Sunset Night theme. I love Gift Izzy’s packaging and curation and can’t wait to see what they come up with for August!
