This was my first month receiving The Match Up and I was impressed with the box design. Inside the box, my product selections were packed in a nice white drawstring bag. This is a thoughtful touch and I prefer reusable packaging wherever possible.

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

MatchUp-094-2

My Match came with a personalized card telling me a little more about my picks and how much I'd saved. I went with 3 products from their volumizing line.

MatchUp-065

BIG LOVE Volumizing Shampoo – 8.5 fl oz, value: $15

This shampoo was a translucent formula with pretty neutral scent. It lathers nicely and it even made my hair feel more voluminous while shampooing. And as someone who wears glasses, I appreciate that the shampoo and conditioner come in different color bottles for easy IDing in the shower.

MatchUp-052

BIG SOFTIE Color Safe Volumizing Condtioner – 8.5 oz, value: $15

The coordinating conditioner was also pretty light on fragrance. I needed to use a bit more than expected to get the coverage I'm used to. My hair combed out nicely after using. I love that both the shampoo and conditioner are designed for color treated hair.

MatchUp-061

GET LIFTED Root Lift Spray – 4 fl oz, value: $15

I saw the biggest impact from the Get Lifted Root Lift Spray. I combed out my wet hair and then lifted sections to spray my roots. I could definitely feel the product in my wet hair as I dried it but once it was all dry, it was no longer noticeable. My hair feels light with a subtle volume increase. There will certainly be days I want more volume but this is a good product for everyday use.

Verdict: I'm excited about trying more The Match Up from eSalon! I'm always on the look out for new shampoos and conditioners and anything that will help my color last longer. The volumizing products I tried have subtle effects which is perfect for everyday, though I'm not sure they have the staying power to last through a full day. There's a solid variety of other products that I can't wait to try in my upcoming Match Ups!

Does the shampoo have sulfates?

Hi Cindy!

On the shampoo’s product page it says “Cleanses hair without color-fading sulfates.” Hope that helps!

I wear glasses too, and I REALLY appreciate you mentioning the different colors of the bottles for easy identification. Companies seem to go out of their way to make shampoo and complimentary conditioner bottles virtually identical, which is a real problem for us girls who wear glasses. This is the one of the main reasons get the MatchUp- they do this with all of their shampoos/ conditioners. All of the shampoo bottles of shampoo are brightly colored and the conditioners are white. They deserve real kudos for that!
