I love gummy candy, so I opted for the Signatures Box!

Dylans-June-2016-BoxOpen

To help keep the candy protected from the summer heat, my box was shipped with a cold pack, and I’m happy to report that al of the chocolate I received was in great (unmelted) condition!

Dylans-June-2016-Card

My box contained a letter welcoming me to the Dylan's Candy Bar Box club.

Dylans-June-2016-Cups

Dylan's Candy Bar Dark Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel Truffle Cups (1.6 oz.)- $4

These salty and sweet caramel cups are made with Belgian dark chocolate. I love salted caramel, and these cups are really tasty.

Dylans-June-2016-Bar

Dylan's Candy Bar Milk Chocolate Bar (2 oz.)- $3.25

Dylan’s Candy Bar uses Belgian chocolate for all of their bars.

Dylans-June-2016-Bar2

I prefer dark chocolate over milk, but I’m sure my husband will make sure this bar doesn’t go uneaten!

Dylans-June-2016-Lollipop

Dylan's Candy Bar Whirly Pop- $3.25

I don’t think I’ve eaten a lollipop like this since I was a kid! It’s so pretty, and it definitely has nostalgic appeal.

Dylans-June-2016-Gummies1

Dylan’s Candy Bar Mini Bin Filled with Gummy Bears- $16

I can’t find this exact item for sale on the Dylan’s Candy Bar site, so I’ve taken the price from the other filled mini bins available for sale.

The brand of these gummies isn’t specified, but they look and taste like Albanese 12 Flavor Gummi Bears— one of my favorites!

Dylans-June-2016-Gummies3

I love the design of this container. I think it’s perfect for setting on a desk or kitchen counter.

Dylans-June-2016-Gummies4

The little scoop is cute, too!

Verdict: I enjoyed the selection of candies that were included in my first Dylan's Candy Bar Box. The balance of candy and chocolate was about 50/50, and everything I received tasted very fresh. I appreciate that the box was packed with care (and cool packs!), and I think Dylan’s packaging is lovely. It’s hard not to compare this box to Candy Club, since they both specialize in high-end candy. While both have great packaging and fresh treats, I think this box might be a better choice for chocolate lovers (as Candy Club focuses more on gummies and sweets). The per-box cost breakdown for this box (for a 3-month subscription) is $36, and the retail value of the items I received totals $26.50. The retail value falls short of the box cost, but I still think this box would be a fun indulgence for candy lovers. It would also make a great gift.

WAY overpriced. I would be upset if I paid $36 for a box that is not even worth $36, but is also very under-whelming!

I’m checking out those Albanese 12 flavor gummies. We recently got some Dylan’s gummies at an airport and they were the best I’ve ever had. A chewier texture and amazing flavor a. You only needed 2 or 3 to be satisfied, not a handful.

As for the box, I agree too expensive for what you get.

I’m sorry but this price point is ridiculous.

Like others have said, not a fan of this. I like candy but don’t want to operpay for it. I think I would pay about $15 for this subscription and be satisfied. I like subscriptions only when I feel like I am getting a good deal.

^This exactly

I love Dylan’s Candy Bar, I’d eat everything in this box, and I think it’s a good amount (some sweets boxes give me more than I need). However, for this price I’m out.

The container store sells those tiny containers with the scoops. I got them and filled them with candy for teacher gifts one year! They were cheap, too. I think two dollars max ?

Checked out the review because I thought it might be a fun box to send my son at college. 6.6oz + maybe half a pound of gummy bears? $36 dollars for what might be less than a pound of candy. Many artisanal chocolatiers don’t command $36/lb. The value is very disappointing. I can put together a much better box myself to send to him. I could just imagine if he has friends around when he opens it, how much he would even get to eat himself?!

I was excited to see this, but then that excitement fell off onto the floor and shattered ! I would not be happy if I paid for this. Considering the price and the actual selection they have….very dissapointing and not at all a great value to get a stronger customer base from around the country. Yes when you go there….it’s a high end candy shop basically that’s nice to experience when your near one. However you don’t forget it and this subscription fell very short of what they could do. When your at one, it’s not a great price there to buy and ship someone something either, rather cheaper to take back home or there where shoppers shipping at local post office themselves. It will be interesting to see more reviews but this one was to dissapointing.

I love the candy bin too but this box is WAY over priced!!

Considering marked up candy prices it comes to $26. but without the amp’d prices I’m putting it at about $20-$22. Lindsey looked like she had fun with this one, but NO.

I totally love that little gummy bear container! If anyone is getting this box and would like to swap it (even without the gummies) i would live to have it to refill. We are big gummie people on my house.

Thank you for the review 🙂 This seems so overpriced to me. I get great organic chocolate at Whole Foods and that store can be expensive, but I feel like I’m paying a fair price for chocolate and candy there. I bought a bunch of candy online from Dylan’s Candy Bar before and I didn’t end up liking anything. The chocolate wasn’t tempered correctly, so it had that weird while cast on it and the gummy candy tasted old. Your candy looks fresh and looks like it probably tastes good, but I still wouldn’t pay $36.

Those caramel cups look amazing. The price of the box seems a bit too high for the value for me. Maybe if there were two or three more items…

I’ve been there and had a lot of fun, but I think a big part of what you’re paying the high price for is the experience of visiting the store. It’s not like the candy itself is super high quality or anything. It doesn’t translate very well to a subscription box.

Cynthia

So many photo’s for so few items. Way over priced.

This candy shop is not cheap. We have one in Chicago and I like it, but its really an indulgence. So I am not surprised that the value is less than the price of the subscription. Unlike most subs, this one is not going to be discounted. I think as a high end/designer candy retailer – its fun for a gift, but visit the shop when you get a chance and save on the shipping and packaging. I would pass because there is a shop in my City, but I would have trouble justifying paying this much for candy.

Price point is no bueno for me, but I love that box! (Like, the red physical box lol.)

This box looks very interesting, but the price point turns me off completely. The gummy bears with the container and scoop are so cute!
