The Disney Park Pack – Pin Trading Edition is a monthly subscription box that Disney introduced within the last year. This subscription is only available online. Each monthly pack contains three Disney Pins including a Limited Edition Pin exclusive to the subscription box, as well as two Open Edition Pins before they are available in the theme parks. The Limited Edition pin currently has four variants of a similar design or theme and each of the variants has an edition size of 500.

This month Disney included a note telling subscribers to keep an eye out for the Disney Park Pack – Holiday Edition coming July 2016. Noted! If you want to be notified when the Holiday Edition box becomes available, make sure you sign up for Alerts at the end of this review. Disney Park Packs always sell out very quickly.

Now the question is, will this be a regular monthly subscription box like the Disney Park Pack - Pin Trading Edition I am reviewing here or will it be more like the Disneyland Memorabilia Park Pack Limited Edition Box? My money is on the former based on the naming convention in the note, but I would be happy with either option!

Back to this subscription box. My kids started collecting Disney pins a few years ago during visits to Disneyland so we were excited to see what would be featured this month. Disney does not release spoilers for this box.

Disney does a really nice job with packaging on this box. If you want to learn more about that, please see past reviews of this subscription box.

I thought I would try something new this month. Let’s play Guess That Pin!

The theme is Disney Park rides and attractions. Any ideas?

If you have any clue whatsoever, you are already ahead of me!

Okay, let’s dive in.

Here is a closer look at the Pin Trading seal in case that helps you.

I will take Blue for $10.95, please, My Subscription Addiction!

blue_back1

(Blue means that this pin will eventually sell in the theme parks for $10.95. Notice the Mickey icon pin back on these.)

Answer: Inspired by the classic Mr. Toad's Wild Ride.

What is Toad’s Taxi?

disneypins_blue

disneypins_blue_pin_only

Correct!

disneypins_blue_raised

(Notice the raised Mr. Toad. Awesome!)

Moving on.

I will take Yellow for $12.95, please, MSA!

yellow_back1

(Yellow means that this pin will eventually sell in the theme parks for $12.95. Yay for a high value month!)

Answer: Inspired by a ride of flight—and decades before Taylor Swift titled one of her songs this—someone else imparted these three words of advice.

What is Never Grow Up by Peter Pan?

disneypins_yellow

disneypins_yellow_pin_only

Correct!

disneypins_yellow_raised

(Notice the raised Peter Pan figure and banner. Very cool. I am loving this trend this month!)

Moving on to the final round as Double Guess That Pin!

I will take the Limited Edition for an undefined retail value, please, MSA!

LE_back1

(Here is the back of the custom backer card. I am not sure why there is a UPC sticker on the back. Maybe so Disney can track this? There is no price associated with the pin because it will not be offered for sale. Also notice the Limited Edition of 500.)

Answer: Inspired by a pseudo-Polynesian musical animatronic show located at 3 different Disney Parks around the world.

LE_back

What is the Enchanted Tiki Room?

disneypins_LE

disneypins_LE_pin_only

Correct!

disneypins_LE_raised

This heavy-duty pin is especially awesome. You can see the double layers, the front of which has golden tiki totems.

If you survived the game and made it this far, you win a look at the whole collection!

disneypins_action0

One thing that is fun about pin collecting and trading is that it is something that can be enjoyed by all ages. My family can’t agree on which pin is our favorite this month.

disneypins_action1

Value: One of these pins will sell for $10.95 and one for $12.95 in the theme parks eventually. The third pin is a limited edition and not available for sale outside of the subscription box so the price is unknown. This subscription box sells for $39.95, including shipping, so this may not be the box for everyone. However, if you love Disney and/or are a pin collector, I would say this could be a great box for you! Disney easily sells out of this subscription box every month.

disneypins_action2

This subscription box is currently sold out, but make sure to sign up for News Alerts at the bottom of this post to get an email when it and/or the Disney Park Pack – Holiday Edition is available!

Verdict: We love the Disney Park Pack – Pin Trading Edition at our house and can’t wait to see next month!

Did you guess any pins correctly? What do you think of this box? Do you love Disney as much as we do?

Starting at $39.95

Randi

awesome review Chris! very fun 🙂

I think the Taxi pin is really cute

I’m somewhat happy that despite a couple trips to Disney World, my 8 year old son hasn’t wanted any pins… because if he did, I would quickly become very addicted to it! (I think I’m more obsessed/addicted to Lego minifigures, especially the latest Disney ones than he is!)

Thanks, Randi!

Pins and Legos are both popular at our house! (Both interests were kicked off by my kids’ existing love of Star Wars and princesses…)

We love the new Disney mini-figures, too.

So fun! 🙂
