Reduced Fat Sea Salt Popcorn by Wise Popcorn (2) - $1.50
This one is not available on the Wise website yet. I really enjoyed this as a basic snack. It's kind of a guilt free snack, which is what I'm looking for these days. Popcorn will never be my favorite snack food but I do enjoy it every now and again! The sea salt flavor was light and just enough to provide a salt fix during the day.
Cinnabon Popcorn by Wise Popcorn (2) - $1.50
I love Cinnabon as much as the next person and this was delicious! It was a bit weird in popcorn form though - there's just something about the gooey, doughy texture of a cinnamon roll that you can't capture in popcorn!
Vita Coco Coconut Oil (3) - $3.87
I have received little packages of coconut oil in the past and I wasn't entirely sure what to do with them. These will be going into my dopp kit for upcoming trips. I like to use coconut oil as a first face cleanse lately and these are the perfect size for shorter trips. These seem to be pretty high quality coconut oil, though I'm certainly not an expert.
Honees Cough Drops - $2.75
These are probably a third larger than most cough drops on the market. There was a faint hint of menthol, and the honey flavor wasn't too strong. I am going to save the rest of them for when I get sick!
Haribo Sour Gold-Bears - $2.79
I'm neither a gummy bear person nor a sour candy person. These are good if you're in to either of those though!
Orchard Valley Cranberry Almond Cashew Trail Mix - $1.98
I like Orchard Valley Harvest products and this one was no exception! It has my favorite nuts in it, cashews, which is always a win for me.
Orchard Valley Cashew halves and pieces - $1.98
Again, cashews are my favorite, so this was a huge win for me! They seemed fresh and flavorful.
Jif Cinnamon Peanut Butter - $2.99
This peanut butter is pretty high in sugar, so keep that in mind here. This would be a great topping for toast or with fruit (apple or banana, etc.). I can't see myself eating it on a PB&J, but it would probably be good in a peanut butter & banana smoothie. The flavor is really great. I can't see myself purchasing it regularly though - I have white chocolate peanut butter that has pretty much been untouched in my cupboard, since I generally only eat peanut butter with PB&Js. I can see this being good in peanut butter cookies too if you cut back on the amount of sugar in the cookies!
Elmhurst Harvest Chocolate Almond Milk - $3.00
This item will vary for subscribers. The info sheet says that there are nine (!!) possible flavors. That's a lot!! This had really good flavor and I enjoyed it - who says you can't like chocolate milk as an adult?!
Topo Chico Flavored Sparkling Water - $1.00
This was good sparkling water, the flavor wasn't too strong, but I always doctor it up with more juice anyway. Apparently there is some legend that an Aztec princess became ill and she recovered when she was taken to the spring where this was bottled. I'm not sure it has healing properties but I enjoyed this as a sparkling limeade!
Topo Chico Mineral Water - $1.00
This was doctored up with some juice as well - sparkling water with juice is one of my favorite summer time beverages.
Brianna's Italian Vinaigrette dressing - $3.99
I enjoyed this dressing. The flavors came through really nicely - this has garlic, olives, Romano cheese, and other spices - you can't go wrong with that combination! I plan to use the rest of this in my favorite pasta salad this summer.
Soy Vay Veri Veri Teriyaki - $4.99
This item also looks like it will vary for subscribers - they mention Veri Veri Teriyaki, Hoisin Garlic, and Island Teriyaki. The flavor of this sauce was really strong - a good thing for teriyaki sauce! This will be perfect for grilling on my BBQ once I get it cleaned up for summer!
Verdict: The value of this Degustabox is $33.34, which is very good for a food box that costs $20.00! I also felt like some of the prices they listed were a little low - I don't think I can purchase Jif Peanut Butter in my area for under $3.50 - it's probably closer to $5.00! There was quite an assortment of items included, which I love!
Degustabox included two recipes to use some of the items on the back of the info sheet: an Italian pasta salad with the vinaigrette, and teriyaki chicken kebabs for the teriyaki sauce.
I really enjoyed this shipment and I think most people would be able to eat at least some of it, even with food allergies. There were gluten free, vegan, and dairy free items included - which isn't too common with food boxes that don't allow you to exclude certain items or do a survey to tailor the box to your tastes.
