I love how the information cards have custom artwork every month.  And the back has more information about the items in the box, including the makers of the custom items.

I also like how, when I looked up from photographing the information card, Monkey was totally doing that pose (or nearly so) in the window!

catladybox-june-2016-mask

Satin Catnap Sleep Mask – Value $12.99

This is super cute.  It does fit my head, but every time I try to wear sleep masks like these, I end up flinging them across my room in the sleep.  Which is too bad, because they do help.

Handcrafted Artisan Soap by Purring Buddha (4 oz) – Value $7.95

Subscribers could have received one of three scents.  I got “purrvana,” which is not listed on the Purring Buddha website yet.  This is made from coconut milk and kaolin with chamomile and lavender scents (perfect for me since I shower pretty close to bedtime!).  I have taken the values of both of these items from the information card.

catladybox-june-2016-pillows

Cat Butt Pillow Cases – Value $31.99

These are awesome.  I am sure my husband will insist I sleep on the “tail up” one.  I sleep with cat butts in my face every night already.  And we did actually need some extra pillow cases.

catladybox-june-2016-washcloth

Spa Washcloth – Value $3.99

Cute, and it fits with the general spa theme very well.  A nice little bonus item.

catladybox-june-2016-toys

Multipet Loofa Catnip Toy – Value $6.68

This was chosen so a loofah (haha) could be included in the spa box.  These are a little big for my cats but Sneaky will sometimes play with them.

Imperial Cat Custom Scratcher (with Catnip) – Value $5.99

Cat scratchers are big hits with my crew.  Mr. Kitty doesn’t have his front claws so he chews on them.  The other kitties do have their claws, and use the scratchers more conventionally.

Monkey and Sneaky sharing?

The tail end of a hissing confrontation between Monkey and Sneaky.

And Sneaky wins the confrontation.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $69.59 for the June 2016 (Crazy) Cat Lady Box.  That is – as always – higher than the cost of the box.  I thought the theme was pretty fun and I liked that there are lots of exclusive items you can’t find elsewhere.  The pillow cases are probably my favorite item.

Mr. Kitty so needs his own FB page or IG account! He’s such a character, even among a cast of adorable characters (I loved the showdown at the “OK cat-orral!”) His eyes are looking better all the time. He’s obviously a tough little guy.

Love CatLady box so much more than I thought I would. They always find really cool and original things to include! Love the pillowcases!

The scratching pad works best, in my opinion, if you leave it fitted into the box. I dumped the bag of catnip on it and now have a steady rotation of cat-in-a-box. Oh, and wash the pillow cases in cold water or they’ll fade. Cat Lady Box is awesome!

Dorian @ CatLadyBox

Aw, yay! I’m glad you loved it!

Cat lady tip: Keep the scratcher pad in the box so that they can have a box to lounge in with a scratcher in it, too! My kitties don’t get out of it. 😉 And this way it keeps all the little scratchies in.

Thank you for another fabulous review! I love seeing your kitties help out and have fun with it all!

OMG, I NEED those pillowcases!

I absolutely love your pictures of your cats. I think the picture of the two confronting each other and then the one has it’s tongue out because it won the battle is absolutely precious. Thank you for sharing.

I finally pulled the trigger on this one with coupon. I couldn’t resist a 3 mo Crazy Cat box for $32 per mo. SO glad i got this. I must be a crazy cat lady as I always liked this box over much more expensive boxes like Luxor. My crew likes regular pillows as cat beds so now it looks much more stylish with the pillow cases. Speaking og those….
I like that Cat Lady Box took the time to email subscribers an additional warning about washing the pillowcases in cold water; “We’ve had a couple fellow cat ladies tell us that the cat butt images could possibly lose some of their color or get blotchy if you wash them in hot water, so don’t do that. :)”
They didn’t have to email as instructions on cases said cold water; they did for customer satisfaction

Yay! I’m so happy you joined the family, Caro! 🙂

And I’m glad you appreciated the extra warning. We just didn’t want anyone to be unnecessarily bummed out, so always better to make super sure everyone knows! I love these and they’re on my bed right now, too!

My daughter got this box and she was in love with it. She’s 14 yo, but she has already decided that she will be a cat lady when she grows up.

She kept the scratcher in the box, sprinkled some cat nip on it, and the cat has pretty much been crashing on it for the last two and a half days. This is a cat that is mostly outdoors. I’m actually concerned about him.

Dorian @ CatLadyBox

Aw, I hope your kitty is OK, Nana. Maybe he is just enjoying his new spa expurrience.

I’m glad your daughter loved it and that you’re raisin’ her right! 😉

My cats showed no interest in the loofa catnip toy and I soon found out why. My mom recently bought a made in China catnip toy for her cat and it contained nothing but sawdust. I thought maybe this was the case with the loofa toy so I unstitched the seam so I could see for myself. The loofa toy didn’t contain saw dust but it didn’t contain catnip either. There wasn’t so much as a speck of catnip in the toy. All there was a strip of plastic for the crinkle sound and craft fill. I added some catnip and sewed it back up. Both my boys are now enjoying it.

Dorian @ CatLadyBox

Genius, Helen! 🙂 I sometimes also shake my kitties’ toys in a plastic baggie of nip to freshen them up some if they are old favorites. It’s like they are brand new again after that to them! 🙂

Laurie

Oh, good idea! Unlike other toys I’ve gotten from CatLadyBox, my girls just ignored this one. That worm from a few months back, however, is still the best. Toy. Ever. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Dorian @ CatLadyBox

I’m so glad they loved that worm because we have several toys from that same company coming up soon! And they are SO cute! I’m so excited about the cat stuff coming up in the next few boxes… we have been having so much fun working on them!

Caitlyn

I left the scratcher in my box and my cats loved climbing into it! I wish we could post pictures in the comments I have some really cute ones of them playing in it

Reply ButtonReply

Dorian @ CatLadyBox

Oooh! If you haven’t already, we’d love to see them! You could post them on our Facebook page and share them there. It’s so fun to see the kitties loving their goodies! Nothing is better than cute cat pictures. 😉

AquarianFire

I left mine in the box too and my two cats have not stopped playing/scratching/sleeping in it. Sometimes they even wrestle over who gets to sit in it! Too cute. <3

Sarah

Im sure mr kitty is not really a minion of Satan, but he has some scary eyes ! Are they really that black?

Reply ButtonReply

Ragan

They are brown. He has some kind of bad eye problems that cause him to be light sensitive so I have to take his photos in relative darkness (no flash either), which makes them appear darker.

Moe

The cat butt pillow case is hilarious!

Reply ButtonReply

Randi

Omg those pillowcases are awesome! I sleep with a cat butt in my face fairly often too. I’m going to have to find myself a set, either swapping or buying.
And the pics are hilarious! Oh how I just love kitty pics

Reply ButtonReply

Dorian @ CatLadyBox

We’ll have the pillowcases up in our “Shop Past Boxes” section pretty soon, Randi! We do have a few extra. 🙂

Reply ButtonReply

Randi

I’ll be watching out for them!!
Thank you!

Lauren

I really, really want to swap for those pillowcases

Nichelle

OMG, I thought the mask was for the cat? good to know that it’s for you, Ragan. Nice to know what’s in these boxes.

Dorian @ CatLadyBox

Hah! We did have one subscriber who posted the cutest picture of her cat with it on its head on Instagram. So silly!
