Bullymake Box is a monthly subscription box for power chewers. You all have heard about (and seen) some of Nyx’s exploits with plush toys from dog subscription boxes so when I heard about this one, I had to sign up immediately. Nyx is definitely a power chewer! You pick your dog’s weight in 10-pound increments so this is a box for an 80-pound dog (Nyx weighs about 84 right now).

My Subscription Addiction paid for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Subscription Box: Bullymake Box

The Cost: $39 a month (save with 3, 6, and 12 month subscriptions)

COUPON: Save $5 off your first box by joining their mailing list (it is a pop-up when I visit the site).

The Products: Toys and treats specifically tailored for heavy chewing dogs (no plushes). You can also choose a “toys only” box. Because of Nyx’s dietary issues, I went with the “toys only” box. You can also enter specific allergy information in a box on the checkout screen.

Note: There was a shipping error and I ended up with the standard treats + toys box. I reached out to Bullymake Box pretty late at night and they responded within a very short time and are sending a new box. But, I am reviewing the one I got first because I know some readers have asked about treats in the comments and I wanted them to see what is in the standard box.

Ships to: USA (free!)

Because Bullymake Box is customized based on your dog’s size, not every item will be the same. But, the information card lists one or two of the items you will receive.

bullymakebox-june-2016-antler

Pet Qwerks Toys Antler in Peanut Butter Flavor (size XL) – Value $12.99

Nyx is going to think this is awesome, when I let her have it. But, this is one of those things that needs to be used with supervision. Because I gave her a similar toy made like a stick and she ATE ¾ of it in an hour or so. So, a few minutes at a time. (For reference, the other toy passed through in little bits over the next few days without causing harm. But it was a good lesson to me about better supervision.)

Pet n Shape Large Trachea All Natural Dog Chews – Value $2.99

We have gotten a lot of tracheas this month. Nyx has done OK with beef in the past so we will put this in the lineup. I think they’re disgusting but it’s the dog’s opinion that matters. (Well, Sneaky is highly interested as well. Sneaky has a sixth sense that is like beef radar or something.)

bullymakebox-june-2016-treats

Bullymake Quackwurst in Duck and Turkey (4 oz) – Value $5 (?)

This is an exclusive item for the box and I can’t find it online. These are little sausages with duck and turkey as the primary proteins. Unfortunately duck is definitely out for Nyx (that’s what she was eating when she developed IBD so she now has immune system reactions to it), so these will be passed along to another dog to enjoy.

Exclusively Dog Fillet Stix Chewy Dog Treats in Tomato Herb Flavor (7 oz) – Value $5.69

The main protein in these is whitefish. They’re free of wheat, corn, and soy. Plus they don’t stink despite being fish flavored, and they don’t have any added sugars. And, they’re made in the USA!

Yup Marrow Wishbone (M/L) – Value $12.95

This is another toy that requires supervision. But, Nyx LOVES it. (She had some regular bone-shaped toys from the same product line last month.) The “marrow” doesn’t have meat in it and is also grain free, so it hasn’t exacerbated her IBD symptoms (which are basically under control at this point). The marrow part keeps her chewing long past when she would have dropped another toy. Plus, this is in good enough shape after one use that she gets to play with it a few more times.

Multipet Nuts for Knots Rope with Squeaker (M) – Value $3.99

Nyx hasn’t had this yet but she will love it. We got something very similar from Pet Treater this month but I think the Multipet rope toys are a little better made.

Here are some photos of Nyx enjoying one of the toys from the box:

I like her eyes in this picture.

We got a new slipcover for the sofa. And no, I don’t do anything to get her to climb up onto the sofa in the same place every time I review a dog box. She does that all on her own.

I like the look on her face here, too.  lso, if you look closely, you can see my 40- or 50-year-old sofa under the slipcover. Total yellow-green awesomeness.

I like the determination she’s showing here. She had a great time with this.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $43.61 for the June 2016 Bullymake Box. Values may differ slightly if you are getting the “no treats” box or indicate a specific allergy. But, this is above the cost of the box. The toys were all hits with Nyx (or are expected to be), they are size-appropriate, and they are more durable than most toys from other dog subscriptions. Plus, once again I’ve had great customer service from Bullymake Box with respect to getting the wrong box, so I’m happy.

Major side-eyes! Awww she is so adorable & expressive!
This box looks great- and appropriate for large dogs. But a trachea in your living room? ew

Trust me, the trachea is nowhere near as nasty as the dried anchovies I got in MeowBox yesterday…

This is awesome! I’ve had some worried about getting any of the pet boxes you’ve posted in the past due to toy sizes- I have a Great Dane pup!

Do you know if you can change your dogs weight in your information as you go? Right now he’s about 5 months (and 50 lbs) and he will be about 150 when he’s fully grown!

I haven’t had to deal with weight changing (well, Nyx bounces around between 81 and 84 pounds depending on her medications, but that’s not a big difference), but they’ve been responsive via email and they also have an online customer service chat feature.

Always a joy to see your fur babies. We had a dog years ago that this box would have been perfect for. She chewed up everything. Right now we have a tiny dog but will keep this in mind for our next “big” dog.
