  1. I got that exact same dermabrasion in this month’s BB and the Smashbox X-rated in my Ipsy last month. And Ipsy seems to be sending more mascara in July too. So it looks like either way – curated or random or sample choice — I’ll probably get a duplicate sample of Smashbox or Dr Brandt.

Ive never tried the sunshine oil and have heard good things about Living Proof so that’s a plus. And I love that it’s more skincare than makeup. But over all…this does not at all excite me.

I may cancel, spend my points and see how BB evolves in the future.

  2. I am glad I canceled! I don’t need anymore mascara.

    • This, and I don’t understand NON waterproof mascaras during summer. Completely useless in the current 102° heat where I am. Was there an overrun of deluxe size mascaras at the manufacturers recently or what?, lol!

  3. Well, looks like I’m one of the few excited about this box lol I’m choosing the curated box, for sure!!!

    • I agree, Desiree. I’m excited about the curated box. And with all the people who are unsubscribing, hopefully the curated box won’t be sold out by the time we get to make our choice. 🙂

  4. I’d be happier I’d BB carried more stuff that I use regularly. Like Philosophy’s Help Me or Keihls Cream with Silk Groom or the Too Faced and Tarte lines. The most convenient Sephora is in a JC Penney so it’s small and it’s easier to order items that I don’t have to test out first. I’ll stick around because I still like to try out new stuff.
With that said, I want to add that my Spring Beautycon box had “They’re Real” as did this months Sephora Play box. I won’t be choosing it this month.

  5. This is soooo blaaaaah. Yet another mascara and NONE of them are waterproof. How hard is it to include one waterproof item?? It’ freakin summer:( I’m gonna ride off my gifted sub until December and not renew. If the company don’t collapse by then of course:D My only hope is that they’ll have less customers and will be able to allocate the best samples to everybody who stayed trying to make them stay longer…

    • Their plan is to get rid of the sub completely in the near future so I wouldn’t count on that happening. When the CEO labels the sub boxes as boring and says their #1 goal is opening brick and mortar stores to compete with Sephora and Ulta, it’s not a good sign of future sub box improvements.

  6. I’m so tempted to cancel now but the July box will be my 20th. Does anyone know if you get a special coupon/code for your 20th box? I’d like to have a coupon to use with my remaining points.

    • Actually, I got one for my 21st box.

    • I don’t even know if they will still be doing those. They disabled all the other coupons. I think bob is trying to stay afloat at this point and cutting whatever they can.

    • My understanding is they eliminated all discounts and point perks except GWPs, including anniversary rewards. I doubt you’ll see any extra points but you could get lucky if your date is before the new policies go into effect at the end of July.

    • This month was my 24th box and I didn’t get a thing for it. Didn’t even know it WAS a thing :-/

  7. I think Play opened up subs again today….I got an email on an account I signed up for months ago with saying it was time. I’d go in now and see if the invite is open for you. I managed to get lucky a few months ago with just randomly checking. Good luck folks…

AS far as birchbox, I am doing what everyone else is, July is my last box, getting my last 50 points and cashing out my $20 in points and calling it done. lol
I chose the random box last month and it was horrible, no idea what to pick this round, probably will go with one of the mascaras and the rest mystery as the curated box I already have everything from already since I’ve been subbing for years

The NEXT question should be what are you spending your last points on?

    • I think once I review July’s, I’ll have about $30 of points. I’m thinking of getting Benefit’s Dandelion Dew and maybe a Lipstick Queen lipstick.

      • Dandelion Dew is great, love it. Just be careful if you travel or plan to carry it with you… the tube inside mine came detached from the cap & wouldn’t pump out – luckily I caught it before it sunk and reattached with minor mess/hassle. Just a friendly Fyi if you travel with it, it’s more fragile than it looks! 🙂

    • I have nearly 300, after this next box, I’m getting Good Genes! If possible, I’ll cancel after that, since I re-subbed in May!

    • all 5 of my emails including the one I already have play on got invites yesterday

    • I think I will have $15 for mine. I had 62 products on my “Wanna Try” list so… i’ll probably throw in an extra $10 and get the Gimme Brow they never sent me for last month. That’s if I decide not to cancel tonight.

  8. I was going to let ,y annual sub run its course through September since it was prepaid but after seeing this I just could not. I chatted and cancelled for my remaining months to be refunded. I only have 69 points so I knew it wasn’t worth it to stick around. I wish them luck as they revamp without me.

  9. Oooo, I know one item we’re getting in our July BB….MASCARA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

I think the curated box looks good. I haven’t tried most of the items in it including that particular brand of mascara.

  10. Everyone is saying that you they are getting rid of the points system? I thought that we just can’t get over 50 points per box any more? Can someone help me out because I’m canceling if the points are completely done with, that’s the only reason I haven’t canceled.

    • That they are**

    • Starting next month, you can get 50 points for reviews EVER.

You can still earn points by making purchases in their shop and by doing referrals. Points expire after six months for everyone (even Aces).

    • After July 11, you can only review up to five more products, for a total of 50 points. You cannot receive any more points for reviewing products after you have received those 50 points. You will only earn points through referrals or purchases in the shop from July 11 on.

      • I assumed it was 50 points at a time. 50 ever is just crazy.

  11. Does anyone know if your account needs to be active in order to make purchases and use your existing points? I’m so over Birchbox and feel bad because I recommended them to my cousin the weekend before their “big announcement” and raved about their point system. I’m ready to cancel both my accounts. There’s too many dupes! And the boxes this month aren’t that cute. Yes, I’m weird and box design is a very important factor to me!

    • Nope, you keep your points if you cancel and you can still use them as long as it is before they expire.

      • Thank you!

  12. Curated box looks like scrapes. I got smashbox in ipsys bag last month. Didn’t play just have benefit also. The Other mascara I wouldn’t want. The boxs look ugly. I’ll pick smashbox. This box would be my third and last.

    • Yep, sephora play had the benefit mascara in the box this month.

      • Yep!

  13. Pretty box. That’s about it.

  14. Another thought: I wonder how much money they could save by going back to the plain brown boxes instead of the cute ones every month. They’re gorgeous and I love them, but it can’t be cheap to change them up every month. I’d much rather get a boring brown box filled with great samples, than a cute box filled with nothing I want.

And then there are the brick and mortar stores–how did that ever seem like a good idea?

It just seems like there are both big and small ways they could have saved some money rather than doing away with the points system entirely. Sigh. Ah well; what’s done is done.

    • Brick and mortars AND their own cosmetics line. Those are both pretty darn expensive. Seriously, if they’d just focus on the box without worrying too much about a points system and just make the box worth paying $10/month for, their bottom line might improve. Companies treat these boxes like an advertising business (and they pretty much are) and not only pay Birchbox to feature them but also provide the samples. Yes, there are other expenses, but the real drain likely came when they moved away from the model that was working for them in the first place.

      • Yes, that is exactly what I was thinking! Why put so much effort into designing different patterned boxes every month, along with producing the LOC and Arrow lines and Birchbox branded clothes they used to sell in the shop… Just focus on making the subscription boxes better (larger sample sizes, less duplicate brands, etc.) and cut costs on the other stuff. It seems like there are many better ways they could increase their profits, and the course they are taking doesn’t seem to be headed in the right direction.

        • Totally agree 100%. The boxes are what put them on the map, big time. I just don’t get it. The B&M store is already saturated and launching a fairly unknown mu line? Who’s going to jump on either after they basically thumbed their noses at their (formerly now) loyal customers and the sub box model that made them popular in the first place? Don’t see too many lining up for that. If they’re relying on new customers, anyone who simply does a search will find all the unhappy sub box and company chatter, plus whay they said about all this, which would turn me off them personally. But who knows.

      • Yes–their own makeup line! Does anyone use Arrow? I haven’t gotten any samples of it but it doesn’t seem particularly intriguing anyway.

      • I read in one of the recent articles that they do pay for the majority of samples as they are costly, I’m sure it’s at a good price etc but it’s not free products to send us for advertising.

    • I wish that they would have found some kind of special rewards to replace the free Birchbox points. It would be cool if you could get some sort of subscription points that would go towards a nice bonus deluxe sample of your choice every once in a while, similar to Sephora’s points program.

I’m not asking for the world, I just want to feel special and appreciated 😉 I feel like they left their subscribers in the dust and didn’t consider what aspects of the program were making people stay.

    • Agree completely with this whole string of responses!

  15. I swear to god if I get one more Benefit mascara from a subscription box…….

    • Right?!?!

    • Agreeeeee!!!!!!

    • I feel you on this one.

  16. OMG that curated box is sooooo boooooring. I’ve tried the Dr. Brandt; it’s super scratchy. Living Proof is played OUT. Some sub box (Allure, maybe?) just gave out the sunshine oil a couple of months ago. And yet more mascara. That leaves the eye patches and, well, no thanks.

I guess I’ll pick one of the tired mascaras for sample choice, but this will be my last box after I’ve spent my points. (Silver lining–at least I can spend them all at once.)

    • Sephora Play had the sunshine oil, I believe.

    • I have canceled.

But, that Living Proof no frizz stuff has given me the best hair day ever today. Not an incentive to resub when I can get it in 4 oz for $27 at Ulta or 8 oz for $37.

    • I got the Klorane item free with points from Ipsy a few months ago.

  17. Not super exciting. Blinc mascara is literally the only mascara I can wear that doesn’t give me raccoon eyes in 20 minutes or less so there’s no point in getting new samples. I’ll probably go with the featured because I like stick on eye masks and the Milk oil looks ok.

    • Have you tried other waterproof mascaras? That could be your issue. It was mine. Also, I have used waterproof coating on top of non-waterproof mascara and they work very well. My favorite one is no longer being made, but I am trying one from Nyx.

      • I’ve tried waterproof and other tube ones and still always go back to blinc. I’m sure there could be another out there somewhere that would also work, but no need to mess with what is working.

      • I tried a waterproofing top coat for a little while, hoping I could get some use out of all these sub box mascaras, but I felt it made my lashes clumpy & sticky (it didn’t smudge though, lol). I did only try a drugstore brand topcoat, but the experience was so bad I don’t want to risk wasting $ on a pricier one.

    • I completely feel you on Raccoon eyes!! Ugh. All the mascara samples we receive from all the beauty boxes, etc. and I can never use them! I can’t stand waterproof mascara. I’d rather go without. It’s itchy, uncomfortable & impossible to remove. So, with each box I receive with mascara, I use it once, go about my day, then spend the next several days embarrassed because when I get home: Raccoon Alert! Seriously, no one noticed that & thought to mention it to me??? 100% of the time, those get thrown & I go back to my old faithful; Lancome Definicils. I’m always wanting to upgrade, but I’m learning that Lancome mascara IS my upgrade! Thank god for comfort makeup.. ?? xo

  18. Minority here. I love smashbox mascara 🙂

  19. Wow! BB is bound & determined we will get mascara in July. This is the first time I’ve also wanted nothing from the curated box either. I guess I’ll pick yet another mascara, as when I’ve not chosen in the past I have gotten one of the sample choices anyway, though I obviously didn’t want the sample choice by not choosing. This is the 2nd time in less than a year the only sample choice is mascara. I’m guessing mascaras are still samples BB doesn’t have to pay for. July is the last box for me. I’ve already opted out of renewal.

    • I just looked at my account and I don’t see where to opt out of renewal – where is it?

      • I just emailed customer service and requested to opt out.

    • I agree. Curated box is a big yawn. I like the They’re Real, but I have a few. The smashbox mascaras are all throw aways for me. I haven’t liked any of them. I didn’t choose my sample this last month, and I got the one I didn’t want anyhow…boo…..

  20. Looking forward to the Sunshine Oil. I recieved it in my May Sephora & I love it!! It’s not just for hair, it’s for arms, legs whatever! I’m glad it’s coming in a Rollorball. I’m going with the Curated!!

  21. Does anyone know if they’ll let me cancel an annual sub after this box ships? I do actually want the curated box (not just for the points). But I’m paying about $9.50 a box so I’m not interested in continuing after the July box.

  22. I’m choosing the “Rise and Shine Box”, samples I haven’t tried a win for me; and I closed my second Birchox in FOMO and I subbed to Ipsy! Still have hope and faith in Birchbox despite the points being gone!

  23. Boogie! Boring. If I cancel today can I still spend my points later or do I need to spend them before I cancel?

    • I canceled a couple month ago and my points are still there. I have like 150, so I am waiting until the new system in july so that I can use all $15.

  24. How do i get the rise and shine box?, and if i do can i try choose the benefit mascara rather than the mascara it comes with? And how would i do that?

    • You can select *either* the Rise and Shine box or choose a mascara and be surprised with 4 other items.

  25. I’m probably the only person who’s not overloaded with mascara, but it’s no fun when the sample choices are all pretty much the same 🙁

  26. Oof. This is not good. I’ve tried two of the mascaras and hate them both. And I’ve tried almost everything in the curated box already. I guess I’ll try the Marcelle mascara and hope for better products in the rest of the box.

Still, I’m not seriously upset. Since I got in on the Black Friday deal, I’m only paying $6.42 per box (less if you take into account the 77 points I got for the sub purchase.) At that price, I’m okay with sticking out the rest of the sub to see if they improve the samples they send out.

I’ve found some really great products and brands through Birchbox – way more than any other beauty subscription box, so they’ll always have a special place in my heart.

    • This is essentially my plan too. Got the Black Friday deal, and while I haven’t loved my Birchboxes lately, every so often they come through for me. For under $7 I can’t complain. I’m staying subbed until the end of this annual, and then I’ll reassess….leaning towards not re-subscribing though.

I’m not excited about this month’s sample choice, but will pick the Marcelle as 1) it’s the only mascara option here I haven’t tried, 2) I don’t like either of the either two, and 3) I really love the Marcelle eye makeup remover. I’m hoping this mascara is also suited to sensitive, contact-wearing eyes.

I think I’m one of maybe 9 people who does not share in the adulation benefit’s They’re Real! mascara gets. I’ve tried using it a few times (different tubes), and each time it was clump city, followed by raccoon eyes and a constant mild stinging sensation.

benefit’s Roller Lash mascara is another story altogether, however. That’s one of my top three mascaras!

      • I got the Black Friday deal too but when it runs out in November I’m not resubscribing.

      • Jay,

I swear, I could have written this exact post (except I’m 50/50 on renewing in Dec.)

I, too, can’t stand They’re Real – for the exact same reason. And yet I love Roller Lash.

        • Jay and Tamara – we are kindred sisters !!! ???? I 100% agree on the They’re Real and Roller Lash!!! They’re real clumps and is too wet/sticky for my taste. But I tried Roller Lash several months ago and it’s one of my all time fav mascaras now !!!! Crazy how one company can manage to make something you love and something you hate in the same ‘product line ‘. I’m thinking Roller lash needs some more hype!!! Wait then they may sell out places – on second thought let’s just keep our little secret between us friends !!! ?

          Mary

      • Funny how YMMV with mascara especially 🙂 I’m the exact opposite, dislike Roller Lash, love They’re Real. I just already have half a dozen of both due to boxes, samples, GWPs, etc.!

  27. I would rather spend the extra $5 in the shop (I have to anyways) then get the reward points for it. Crap box. Crap company now.

    Cancelled.

    • than*

  28. I think I am going with the curated to avoid the chance of getting perfume sample… With the history of curated box being shipped earlier than sample choice box, I am taking a chance to receive this box earlier than July 11 to review, so that I will have August box to go towards my last 5 reviews. Or do they open July review only after July 11? If anyone knows, please comment!!!

    • I am betting they will make sure this little strategy is useless via the ship dates. I wouldn’t bet on it working at ALL.

    • I was thinking of the exact same strategy, and then I thought about Katia, and realized there’s no way BB would let us do that– they’ll somehow make shipping work after 11 so that we can’t get extra 50 review points.

    • Thank you for your insights, ladies! I might still go with the curated because at least I know I can use all the products in the box.

  29. Two extra items in the curated box AFTER they take away the points…….of course.

How am I supposed to use that mini rollerball on my HAIR? Seriously?

I know we’re SUPPOSED to get rid of mascara every 6 months, but I’m pretty sure most people don’t actually DO that.

    • You don’t use oil ON your hair. It’s for your SCALP.

      • Then in the video, Lorelai should say scalp, and not hair.

      • I don’t know anything about this PARTICULAR oil but, yes, you do indeed use hair oil on your HAIR. So maybe you don’t use THIS oil on your hair, but you can, indeed, use oil on your hair.

        • Sorry for the dupe, wasn’t responding to you there 🙂

      • Then in the video, Lorelai should say SCALP and not HAIR.

    • You toss mascara every 2-3 months.

      • Because the companies want you to buy more. That’s the only reason.

        • Per web md and my own experience with eye infections, toss mascara every three months. Once the tube is open it becomes a breeding ground for bacteria.

      • Again, the video, she says 6.

    • I would just roll a bit of the oil onto the palm of your hand and apply it to your hair

  30. Are we still getting the 50-60 pts for reviewing next month’s box?

    • only 50 points. that is the last points you are getting

    • only if you get your box before 11th. I doubt it though

      • Once you get your email stating what’s in your box from Birchbox, I am pretty sure you can review the products, even if you haven’t *gotten* them yet. Which defeats the purpose of a fair review, but they kind of brought that on themselves with the 11th cutoff. The 25th or something would have been more inclusive.

I’m bummed. I have a couple subs with Birchbox because I love their samples and wanted to stick it out despite the points stuff, but this curated box really, really kind of sucks and so do the sample choice. I always look forward to the curated box having some makeup item with a pop of color (lip crayon, blush, etc), but this is like the most epicly “mashed potatoes” curated Birchbox I’ve seen 🙁 I will stick it out a few more months, but will say I am pouting a bit this month.

  31. Enough with the mascara! Sheesh! Birchbox wants to push us to make full price purchases, yet we have received enough mascara to NEVER purchase a fullsize the rest of our lives! Hahaha.

    • Agree! Those reviews always ask “why are you unlikely to buy this in the next 6 months?”, but there’s no option to click on “because you just gave me enough product to last that long.” Another example of Birchbox being out of tune with the subscribers.

      • LOL exactly. I also never understood the point of letting reviews happen BEFORE anyone gets the items… how is that a ‘real’ review? Useless to me to read ‘can’t wait to try this’ ad nauseam. Totally skews the system because you can’t trust reviews that aren’t technically reviewing anything. Drives me nuts. SMH

        • Agree. The only time I ever wrote reviews before getting my box was if it was a particular item I had tried before – and had tried more than once, so I could be fairly confident in my assessment.

The other thing I don’t get is why Birchbox felt obligated to post so many useless reviews like the anticipatory “cant wait to get my box!!!!” and tangential “wish i got the conditioner [sad face].” Just because a product gets 36,000 reviews doesn’t mean all 36,000 have to get posted! There was a 72 hour window between submitting a review and it posting, during which I assume it went through some type of software vetting program. I wrote a handful of reviews that never posted, I assume because of some particularly colorful descriptions – so why couldn’t they just not post the ones that had nothing at all to do with the product?

(I guess that’s flirting with censorship, and such a method could be used to silence honest negative reviews. Gah. Stuff is hard.)

          • If you’ve used it before no problem! Funny how they couldn’t (wouldn’t) weed out the useless ones like those. I’d MUCH rather read a ‘colorful’ actual review than 2,500 ones that say nothing at all 🙂

  32. I was going to cancel in July and used all my points towards a second natural box. But this makes it easy, I can just cancel it today.

    • Lol!

  33. After seeing this post I immediately cancelled. I was going to wait it out until July (for those last 5 points-earning reviews), but nah. I’m swimming in mascaras and the curated box is a joke. Oh well. Hopefully Sephora steps up their game soon.

  34. I’m going with curated. After a year and a half with them I’ve only tried the Dr. Brandt. I’m going to give BB a chance to redeem themselves. I can only hope they will come back stronger after the smoke clears behind the points fiasco.

  35. Wow, REALLY glad I cancelled! I’ve been complaining to my bf for months about all the damn mascara I’ve been getting from BB and Ipsy. At least with Ipsy I don’t get one damn near EVERY month.

I would have thought they would have had some amazing items for sample choice AND a curated box with new items never sampled, AT LEAST, especially after the crap they pulled recently. I guess they are sending the message that, without a doubt, they really DO find subscription boxes “boring”.

Good luck with your business, BB. You’re gonna need all the luck you can get.

  36. This is my second month with Birchbox. I subscribed about 2 weeks before Katia’s message regarding the changes. I was happy with last month’s curated box. I even ordered some addons for July (a few kits) but this box doesn’t look enticing. I’m not a fan of mascara so this will be a bleh month for me. I’d like to keep Birchbox for a few months, but I will probably end up cancelling because the points incentive was one of the primary reasons I subscribed in the first place!

    • It’s my 2nd BB too and i feel pretty ripped off by the points system as well.

I weighed the pros and cons with 20 different beauty boxes and chose what appeared to be the best 2, BB was one of them and the points system was what tipped the scale in their direction.

2 weeks after signing up i get an email saying they’re eliminating the points system, almost as if they were trying to trick me into subscribing.

Wish i could have taken advantage of the points system like everybody else..i’ll have a grand total of 100 points after July’s box….nothing in the shop i want is $10 or less…

      • Sounds like we’re in the same boat! I did some extensive comparison research of beauty boxes (which is how I came across this awesome site!) and made the choice to go with Birchbox. For me, it feels like a bait-and-switch. Fortunately I am not locked in so I might bail out after a few months.

        • I also researched last year (thanks MSA!), and BB commenters had the most consistently positive things to say. I ordered a year long sub last Aug. I have been pretty consistently underwhelmed after my first four boxes or so. I get that you can’t please everyone, but BB is the sub that I get the least use out of. I have only really discovered a couple of brands that I’ve incorporated into my routine, and give so much away.

  37. Ugh, I am so disappointed with my Birchbox subscription. My first box was pretty terrible so I picked the curated box for June and they sent me another horrible random box instead. So far, their best offer from customer service is 50 Birchbox points which I don’t want due to them ruining their points system and now they are offering a crappy curated July box and a sample choice of mascara, none of which are waterproof and I got that Smashbox one from Ipsy and was not impressed at all. This company seems to be losing steam fast. I’m sensing a cancellation very soon. Allure or Beautybox5 could just as easily be taking my money and I’d be much happier with what I’m receiving.

    • I got my Sephora Play invite today after being on the waiting list for only a week! Bye bye Birchbox. Lol

  38. Agreed, can’t believe you can’t get away from mascara in either box. Cancelling now. I never got the email from BB about the points change, but I did get an email this morning with the subject line “Take the leap with this special shopping perk.” When I clicked on the LE Home Sweet Homespun that was one of the featured items, it seems that box hasn’t been available for over a year! And the special “perk” was the usual mystery bag with a $35 purchase that’s always available. Way to step up your game, BB!

  39. I canceled this morning and subbed to Sephora. After 16 months with Birchbox, I could use a change. Katia made my mind up for me.

    • How in the world did you sign up for the Sephora one?! I’ve been on the wait list for months and I don’t think I’ll ever get off.

      • Try again. Sign up for the wait list again. You might get an email before you know it!!!

  40. Will cancel. Definitely boring and same old same old. It’s apparent they don’t want to step up their game for the monthly boxes since that’s no longer their focus. I’m enjoying Sephora’s Play!

  41. Is it me or is this getting a little ridiculous!? Come on this is stuff I already have well maybe just missing one product. Might as well cancel and explore a new box or save it to buy a bottle of wine lol! I don’t see any point in purchasing something that I already have. Why are they not listening to their customers!? It seems like BB and Ipsy have decided to be one company that give you the same thing! Or if you miss it from one company that month don’t worry the other one will feature the same thing the next! They need to make it cheaper then $10.00 for what you get anymore its not worth it! Sad to say I even promoted this company now I feel stupid for doing that when BB is not going well. Sad to say I am canceling this subscription.

  42. This is going to be my last box, so I’ll probably go with the curated, since it is something I never did before. I wish there was a way to escape from the mascara. At least I know what I will be getting.
After receiving the box, I’ll cash out my points and that’s it.

  43. All seems soo boring to me. Going to cancel after I get my last bit of points in July.

  44. This makes up my mind to cancel. With all the changes regarding points and I belong to so many others that seeing a mascara again for the choice makes it easier.

  45. ugh i’m done, just canceled.

  46. At least I’m going out on a cute box design! That’s what I’ll miss the most about getting my Birchbox, but at least I have a year’s worth of boxes to store stuff in. I’ll probably go with the Smashbox mascara.

  47. I never really complain about anything but I have 3 samples of they’re real from other subs and extras from ulta and also the smashbox mascara from ipsy. I feel
Like we need a mascara break for a few months

  48. You’d think that with everything Birchbox is going through right now, they’d try harder to entice people to stay …..

    • This box was probably designed a few months ago as it takes time to organize and procure samples. However, there are plenty of “last-minute” types of things they could have done with this box, such as a coupon for an extra sample in your next box as a way to thank subscribers, small bonus item with next purchase, discount coupon at the retailer’s website, ect. There are so many low-cost and even free ways to entice people to stay, it blows my mind that they’re not doing anything. Serious case of denial.

  49. I do have to say that I cancelled unfortunately, but if I would’ve stayed I would’ve gone with the Benefit They’re Real! mascara. I’m not sure excited about the curated box, maybe because I’ve tried most of the products, and they weren’t for me. Hopefully everyone gets what they want!

  50. Err…I don’t know if it’s the recent BB bad blood or what, but the curated looks like my worst nightmare. It’s so boring/duped the heck out. Maybe I’ll go for the Marcelle or the Smash box mascaras, but not very excited about my options.

BB, you can take your points, but up your boxes.

    • Completely agree!! I’m pretty sure August will be my last month!
