Each Beauty Box 5 comes with a description card. This month’s theme is “Made in the Shade”. (Side note: The first thing to come to mind after reading the theme was the emoji wearing sunglasses.) Given the theme I thought they would have chosen different artwork but it is a unique pattern. As always, I love how they list every item given, along with the price and if it’s full-size or not.
This month Beauty Box 5 included a card that has a code to get $5 off a Beauty Box 5 purchase, awesome! Order must total $5+ USD before applying code & it’s not valid on subscriptions.
Manna Kadar Radiance Bronzer and Highlighter-FULL SIZE! $24.00
I’m not familiar with this brand and after using it I like it so I’m happy to be introduced to it. I’ve started incorporating highlighters in my weekend makeup routine so I’m happy to have more. The bronzer compliments my skin nicely and I use bronzer everyday so that works for me too. The duo split pan is perfect for travel or to throw in my purse so this is a def keeper. I also think that both of these shades could double as eye shadow too because they are such good pigment!
Versaspa Gradual Tanning Face Moisturizer– Deluxe Sample 0.25 oz.: $4.38
I’ve been using this for a few days now and haven’t noticed much of a difference. I also just returned from a beach vacation and got very tan so that could be why. When I first opened the tube I was expecting a brown tinted cream, instead its white but goes on completely clear. According to the Versaspa website, this face moisturizer instantly hydrates skin, blurs fine lines and creates a beautiful tan. It has a unique blend of green & brown marine algae to moisturize, oxygenate and detoxify skin for a beautiful tan. You are supposed to use it daily to achieve maximum results, it’s for all skin tones and is formulated with Eco-Cert DHA and Erythrulose. Overall I feel indifferent about this product- didn’t hate or love it.
Prestige Cosmetics Brow & Lash Brush– FULL SIZE! $3.25
A brow & lash brush is one of those items that I don’t want to purchase but am happy to receive! I have thicker eyebrows and have to use eye gel to keep them in check so I don’t really use the brush feature. The lash comb comes in super handy when my eyelashes decide they don’t want to cooperate. The comb removes excess mascara and clumps like a champ so I’m keeping.
Sweep Beauty Oval Face Brush– FULL SIZE! $15.00
I have never seen a face brush quite like this before. According to the description card, you use this brush to gently dust on highlighter or precisely place bronzer or blush on your cheeks. It can also be used to apply liquid foundation. This is seriously one of the softest brushes I have ever used. It blended my bronzer like a pro so I’m a fan! It’s already sitting nicely in my makeup bag.
I wanted you to be able to see how tall the brush bristles are.
Pur-Lisse Blue Lotus + Seaweed Treatment Sheet Mask– FULL SIZE! $8.00
I love love love masks! Unfortunately I used a mask the day before receiving this one so I’m not able to try it out until next week (womp womp :/). I like to wait a week minimum between masks so I don’t over agitate my skin. According to the website, it’s a natural fiber mask infused with Blue Lotus, Seaweed and restorative Asian botanicals that deliver antioxidants and minerals to your skin. That sounds amazing & exotic so I can’t wait to try it out! I like that you don’t rinse after using the mask, you just rub the remaining product in once you remove it. Instructions also suggests popping the mask in the freezer a few minutes before use so it will have a cool relaxing feel.
Back packaging of the Pur-Lisse Blue Lotus + Seaweed Treatment Sheet Mask.
Manna Kadar Highlighter (top swatch) and Manna Kadar Radiance Bronzer (bottom swatch). The bronzer looks very deep but it doesn’t look so harsh once blended.
Verdict: I enjoyed this month’s Beauty Box 5. I got quite a few practical beauty products like the brushes so I’m very happy! I will use everything except the face moisturizer mainly because I didn’t see huge results and prefer other moisturizers. I’m also super excited to try out the mask because it sounds heavenly! I calculated the value of this box to be at $54.63 which is higher than the $12 purchase price. Can’t wait to see next month’s theme!
