I always like how the letters always feel so conversational and personal!

Now for the first set of outfits!

TRENDSEND MAIL 2016 - items 2

Lovestitch Open Weave Fringe Poncho – Cost to Keep: $78 (on sale for $69.99)

So, I’m not starting this review off strong… This poncho is so not my style. I didn’t know they were back in style. It was definitely warm, though.

Kut from the Kloth Cameron Straight Leg Rolled Crop – Cost to Keep: $89

I love these jeans! Of course, they’re Kut from the Kloth. You’ll see more pics of these with the other tops below. They fit well and feel high quality. One thing to note: the rolled up part is sewn that way – you can’t unroll it and wear them as jeans.

TRENDSEND MAIL 2016 - items 3

Allison Joy Printed Drape Top – Cost to Keep: $48

Am I the only one who has an issue with how short drape tops always seem to be? I got a top with a similar drape front from Golden Tote and have tried a couple others and they always seem so short in the torso. Other than that I like this top. It’s comfortable, light for summer, and the draping makes it nursing friendly.

TRENDSEND MAIL 2016 - items 4

Peyton Jensen Dillon Stripe Top – Cost to Keep: $48 (on sale for $39.99)

This top is a little more loose/shapeless than I prefer. Also the knit was really warm – not a great summer piece.

TRENDSEND MAIL 2016 - items 5

Skies are Blue Mix Print Tank – Cost to Keep: $48 (on sale for $39.99)

Gideon needed to be held, so he’s making a cameo.

This tank was fine, but I don’t think the beige does anything for me. Also, It was snug in the chest.

TRENDSEND MAIL 2016 - items 6

And now for the second set of outfits.

TRENDSEND MAIL 2016 - items 7

Braeve Tie Dye Jumpsuit – Cost to Keep: $78 (on sale for $69.99)

Apparently my stylist picked this as a more “daring” piece for me to try, but unfortunately it’s one of the biggest misses in styling service history for me. I don’t care for the print, it’s impractical, uncomfortable, and too short for me to wear. The material felt slinky and cool, so I can see how this would be a good pick for summer, but it’s just not working for me personally.

TRENDSEND MAIL 2016 - items 8

Gentle Fawn Alesia Dress – Cost to Keep: $68 (on sale for $59.99)

I think this dress is cute! I like the cut a lot. Unfortunately the arm holes are too big/the straps are cut so they fall too close together on my shoulders. I think there are more flattering colors to my skin tone, but this isn’t bad. Plus, it was comfy.

TRENDSEND MAIL 2016 - items 9

RD Style Pocket T Dress – Cost to Keep: $48

I love the color of this! I think it’s cute and it was pretty comfy, too. I wanted to keep this, but it was just too short a dress for me, personally, and I didn’t want to have to pair it with leggings in summer.

TRENDSEND MAIL 2016 - items 10

Spellbound Natural Stone Tassel Necklace – Cost to Keep: $48

This necklace is pretty, and I like the stone beads. I just don’t care for gold much, and the style is a little too bohemian for my style or to go with the rest of my wardrobe.

Verdict: Well, this Trendsend wasn’t great for me. I liked the dresses alright, and Kut from the Kloth jeans are always a win for me. Unfortunately the tops are such a hit or miss for me from this subscription lately... I think maybe their summer styles are just quite far from my own style. It seems to me that they lean pretty “boho.” However, I know that this is due to my personal taste. I think I need to go back through my style profile with them and make it a little more concise/clear about what I’m generally looking for, and what things to avoid.

I do have to mention that I feel a little like the picks from my stylist sort of poorly align with my style profile/preferences (again). I frequently remind them that price and budget is basically my #1 deciding factor when it comes to keeping something, and my stylist said she tried to pay attention to the prices of things this time, which I do appreciate.

I also want to note: some of the pieces were on sale on Evereve’s website. In the past, I have emailed customer service asking about this, and saying “I assume the online price is what I would be charge to keep something?” and they confirmed. A couple months ago, some readers said they had some trouble with this, so it seemed it felt a little dependent on who you spoke to. My advice with this kind of situation is go into it assuming and acting confident that of course they’d price adjust, because, really, there’s no good reason for them not to.

the only thing I would advise you to keep is the jeans. If you are just “meh” on the dresses, they might get pushed to the back of the closet.

I thought the jumpsuit was the cutest & most flattering on you. oh well, it shows how tastes differ.

My sense is that Trendsend is built around higher price point items. They might not have much to work with in the <$100 category.

When I saw the poncho folded up in the first picture, I was intrigued because I like the knit, and then when I saw it was a poncho, I was like…OH. 🙁 I definitely wouldn’t want that for the summer! Also, I cannot wait for jumpsuits’ moment to be over. They only look good on like 2% of the population.

I love that you changed up the background for some of the outfits. I can’t imagine what the pantsuit thing would look like against the brick! Your accessory was a nice addition ?

Wow. The jumpsuit thing is… hideous. On the plus side, it would work for a 70’s themed Halloween party…

I totally feel your pain about the shortness of draped tops. I’m tall as well (5’10”) and have a long torso and long arms (plus I’m a 36 DD but otherwise fairly thin) so I have all kinds of fit issues in general with styling subs (I sound like I’m a gargantuan beast, lol). For some reason draped tops tend to be cut awkwardly, as if the fabric taken up to form the bottom of the drape wasn’t included in the overall length measurements, resulting in tops that are just a too short. I agree with you about the dresses being too short as well. I’d never be comfortable wearing something for everyday that barely covered my bum, not now and not even when I was 25. (As a side note, I never understand why stylists recommend super short dresses for a work wardrobe. Where are women actually wearing these minis to work?) While they are cute, the dresses you got were pretty short to start with and even more short on a tall woman. It seems like your stylist failed to take your height into consideration, as well as your style. Getting too-short dresses is the main reason Golden Tote doesn’t work for me.

That’s also why I cancelled subbing to golden tote. The dresses were too short or if you could wear them once, they were the minute u washed them as they shrank even without putting them in the dryer. Its not just you taller people with the torso problem. Im 5’3 (which tells you how short some of those dresses were that it wouldn’t even fit me) and average size torso and every top I got from golden tote or other places is too short. I just think the minute I have to go reach or pick up my daughter/son I am showing my back to the world. I wish they would take into account some people like stuff a bit longer in length and they have to move which might adjust where something hits. That blue color tho looks beautiful on you and your son is adorable.

That jumpsuit looks really great on you, you are bringing it. Throw on strappy heels and you are ready to take the night on.

I love your clothing reviews. You are like the perfect model. Cameos by your son make the pics even better! 🙂
