THREADS MONTHLY MAY 2016 - info

Each box includes an info card listing the retail values of each item.

THREADS MONTHLY MAY 2016 - items 1

Beaded Feather Necklace – value: $11.99

This necklace is pretty, just not my style.  I have a friend who I know would love it though so I know I’ll gift it to her!

THREADS MONTHLY MAY 2016 - items 2

Diamond Bangles – value: $5.90

Again, these just aren’t my style. I do like how they’re different widths so make them look more mix-and-match though.

THREADS MONTHLY MAY 2016 - items 3

Oversized Sunglasses – value: $12

These are cute. I like the super dark brown color, and I think they fit my face shape pretty well.

THREADS MONTHLY MAY 2016 - items 5

V-Neck Tunic Blouse – value: $26.99

Featuring: my clingy little love bug, haha.

While I really like the color of this top, I don’t think I would consider it a “v-neck” just because there is a little v-detail at the top. The chest fits me weird, but everywhere else and the sizing is great. I think I’d like this more if it were a true v-neck and the seam in the front wasn’t sewn shut. That’d also give it a little more room up top and would probably fix my fit issue. This is my first time getting a top that isn’t a t-shirt, and I’m okay with that! I like tunics a lot so I’m glad to see them including things like this.

Verdict: Threads Monthly is a cute subscription. I don’t think I’ll personally use everything this month, though. I think it’s clear you probably shouldn’t expect to see name brands from this box, but I think it’s not bad if you like getting some cute, miscellaneous accessories/tops, or for teens, even. As far as value goes, I calculate a value of about $56.79, which is good from a $25 (shipped) box!

I’ve only received the April and May boxes but for the price I’ve been satisfied. Like JoEtta I got the lace panel button down shirt and I also am large busted but I think it will work with a tank underneath. My necklace had turquoise beads – I have received SO MUCH turquoise jewelry in sub boxes lately. I would have preferred the white but that’s ok. I am happy with my sunglasses, they are a bronze color that goes well with my hair. I think this is a neat box and I hope it doesn’t disappoint me.

I feel you on the bust issue. I wear a 32B bra, and people always try to put me in an XS top. But I get pulling at the bust sometimes (maybe because I work out??) I often end up sizing up to a S.

They sent out different versions of that top and different colors of the sunglasses. The one I received was close to the same color but had lace panels in the front and was a button down. It would have been cute but I cant wear button down shirts because of bust issues. I had a lot of problems with the box. One of the feather dangles on my necklace was broken and there was no way to reattach it to the necklace, the bangles had discolored dots throughout that looked like a quality issue not a part of the design. Although I specified on my profile I am an XL the belt that was sent was also something that only my size 6 sister could wear and the top also ran small. There is no way you could wear that belt if you weighed more than 120 pounds. From what I remember the belt was priced separately from the top so I guess it depended on what top you got whether they included it or not. The sunglasses were a style I would buy but I wish they had been brown instead of clear but that’s just me being nit picky. I know it wasn’t a lot of money and I don’t expect banana republic quality items but I did expect them to not be damaged or broken. I did reach out to customer service and they were quick to refund me the cost of the box minus shipping. It sucks because I loved the theme of this box and if the stuff had fit and not been damaged I would have loved it :/

I received the same lace panel shirt and the belt is for the shirt. There are little belt loops on the side of the shirt for the belt. The belt is a lot smaller than normal because it’s high waisted, my XL fit perfectly.

That top really is very cute and suits you extremely well. It looks as though you should be able to unpick the front placket for a couple of inches to make it fit better.
