Organic Heirloom Cinderella Pumpkin Seeds - $2.75
Organic Heirloom Jarrahdale Pumpkin Seeds - $2.75
How fun is this?! I love the idea of having a garden, and actually just planted some onions, shallots, and herbs in planters! I am debating growing these, or passing them off to my sister who has a greener thumb than I do. I've never seen or tried Jarrahdale pumpkins, and want these to flourish so I can try them!
Copper & Kraft White Pumpkin and Lilac Candle - $6.95
This scent is so unusual, but I really like it! I never would have picked pumpkin and lilac to go together, but the scent is unexpected and quite fresh. It is actually a perfect spring scent with the lilac added to it. This is a hand poured, soy candle.
Grow Ornament - Primitives by Kathy - $1.84
This is a very cute ornament. It would be cute in a garden on a little stake, for sure! Maybe if I hang this near my pumpkins, I'll actually keep them alive? Like a constant command to "GROW!" (Yes, I realize plants don't read, just indulge me a bit.)
Pumpkin and Oatmeal Face Mask - Megan's Soapbox - $4.50
I just tried this mask to give a full review of it. The product picture on Etsy shows this mask being pretty smooth - my mask was very chunky. The chunky texture of my mask made it a bit difficult to put on and remove. I did feel a slight tingle, but that's typical of enzymatic masks in my experience. My skin felt quite smooth after using this, but I use acids and retinol on a daily basis, so your mileage may vary.
Creamy Pumpkin Soup - Maggie and Mary's - $7.50
I made this for lunch today, and it was quite delicious. It is savory with the underlying spices of cinnamon and nutmeg - the flavor reminds me quite a bit of pumpkin ravioli or pumpkin gnocchi dishes!
Verdict: The value of this Pumpkin Batch box is about $26.29, which falls a bit short of the cost of the box. I do think of the seeds as a bit higher value than is assigned to them - if you can get them to grow, you'll have pumpkins in the fall! Even with that, it does seem to be a bit of a lower value box, and I'd love to see the value come up in the future for subscribers.
I think this was a great spring box for pumpkin lovers - with a nice spring scented candle, seeds to plant, and a soup for those last cold snaps during the spring!
