The BAM! Box Subscription Box Review + Coupon May 2016 - info sheet

The box comes with a large info sheet. There, you can find this month’s theme, “Abilities”, and a list of all the items in your box! I really liked how they did this box – they focused on super powers and dedicated an item to each one.

The first thing to note is that this is the first month of their ongoing Bam! Pins. This month is a mash-up of Charmander and Spider-Man.

The BAM! Box Subscription Box Review + Coupon May 2016 - signed Zoom

Tony Todd “Zoom” Signed Photograph – Value ??

One of the signed items this month comes from CW’s “The Flash”. Zoom is voiced by Tony Todd, who also happens to play the role of Candyman in the horror classic. Very cool. This is the type of item you subscribe to this box for!

The BAM! Box Subscription Box Review + Coupon May 2016 - signed wolverine

“The Wolverine” Designed and Autographed by Rick Martin – Value ??

This is the second autographed item, and I love it. Very cool print of Wolverine. I like these ones that are numbered – totally into the FOMO/exclusivity of it. They do a great job of getting these autographs.

The BAM! Box Subscription Box Review + Coupon May 2016 - magnetic goop

Magnetic Thinking Putty – Value $10?

I listed a similar product from Amazon for comparison. This was in homage to my favorite character in the Marvel Universe – Magneto. This putty has micron-sized magnets in it, and it comes with a square magnet.

It was fun to put the magnet on top and watched it get sucked to the bottom!

I had also left it out over night and it crawled up my scissors!

I tried to get a gif of the putty “reaching out” to the magnet for example!

The BAM! Box Subscription Box Review + Coupon May 2016 - ring

“One Ring” From Lord of the Rings – Value $10-15?

The power of invisibility goes to the one ring to rule them all, your precioussssssss!

The BAM! Box Subscription Box Review + Coupon May 2016 - ring on chain

It comes on a chain so you can keep it safe like Frodo. There was a gold variant in some boxes as well – I wish I had received that one!

Finally, here’s a look at the ring itself.

The BAM! Box Subscription Box Review + Coupon May 2016 - VR headset

Cardboard VR headset – Value ??

We had received these in a past Birchbox Man – and they were really fun to test out! I definitely recommend giving these a try if you have them. I’m excited to see if any of the big VR technology can start to really take hold towards the end of this year! Does anyone have the Oculus? Or are you planning on getting PlayStation VR?

The BAM! Box Subscription Box Review + Coupon May 2016 - bonue item

I was also lucky enough to get a bonus signed issue of Gen 13 #41! I’m not familiar with this title, though, so I’m not sure #41 is where I want to start.

Verdict: I always have a blast unboxing The Bam! Box. While this box didn’t reach the high water mark of last month’s amazing Jason mask for me, I still really enjoyed the autographs and surprisingly had a blast messing around with this magnetic putty! The always include some fun collectibles (the batarang comes to mind!) with their autographs, and I feel like they’re getting better as they go – it’s a good sign!

  1. This would be my first months box and I have been super excited to get it and sad I missed out last month with the Jason mask. That being said, I still haven’t received my box. That in itself wouldn’t be a big deal but I’ve sent 2 emails to customer service and still have yet to receive any kind of response. As much as I’d love to continue with this box, if I don’t hear something soon I’m going to cancel my subscription.

  2. I couldn’t believe how cool the autographed stuff was in this box and it got me to instantly go signup for their subscription. I only wish I hadn’t missed this month, but I found the Tony Todd Zoom photo (which is what sold me on subscribing to the service) from a very reasonable eBay seller. Can’t wait to get that bad boy framed and on my wall!

  3. I love that I got the gold Spider-mander pin 🙂 I think they really do try to keep people happy and that this box is kind of on the lower price point due to the Jason mask in the last box. However, I love the art prints and the magnetic putty and am really excited about how next month is 80s.

Also, I’m glad they acknowledged Wolverine due to the movie that it doesn’t seem many boxes care about.

  4. I could play with that putty for hours. This looks like an awesome and fun box.
