Stitch Fix is a monthly styling subscription service. When you sign up you take a pretty in-depth survey about your sizes, your style, and pricing preferences, and then your personal stylist sends you 5 items to try once a month. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)

FYI – My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Stitch Fix may be completely different!

Each box comes with cards with styling suggestions for every piece, plus a little note from your stylist.

And this is my invoice sheet. It lists the prices per item and the discount I’d receive by keeping all 5 items. With the 25% discount and my $20 styling fee factored in, this box would cost me a total of $239.50 to keep everything –$47.90 per item.

Market & Spruce Garrity Tie Back Knit Tank Top – Cost to Keep: $44

This top is cute, and the neck ties together in the back (sorry for not getting a photo of the back – my bad). The stripes are navy, not black. This top was alright but the fit felt awkward to me. I definitely didn’t love it $44 worth.

Level 99 Giovanni Straight Leg Jean in Turquoise – Cost to Keep: $98

These are adorable jeans! However I think this brand must run small. Even though these are my usual size, they were too tight for me. Which is ultimately okay, because they were pretty expensive.

Papermoon Waters Knit Maxi Dress – Cost to Keep: $68

So, I had seen this dress in some other Stitch Fix reviews and I requested it from my stylist. She delivered! Unfortunately, it’s too short for me. I think it would work much better for me if it were knee-length (which is how I “styled”/held it to be on the right). I just didn’t want to buy a dress just to have it altered, so I sent it back.

Gilli Kamile Knit Dress – Cost to Keep: $58

This dress is comfortable, modest, and flattering! However, again, there were some fit issues. There wasn’t enough room in the bust for me, so the waist fit in a very awkward place; it rode up instead of sitting at my actual waist. Had this fit, I totally would have kept it. But this went back, too.

Loveappella Carlita Knit Maxi Dress – Cost to Keep: $78

Yes! Another request! I saw this dress on Pinterest and loved it and asked for it. My stylist sent it my way and it’s a great length for me! The chest part is also made with really nicely sized panels so I feel like I have good coverage up top. I totally kept this.

Verdict: This month’s fix was very much my style but each piece had fit issues except the Lovapella maxi, which ended up being the only item I kept. This month was also the first time I had ever requested anything to be included in my fix. I know that slightly takes away from the styling service part of it, but I think once in a while it helps me try something I think I’ll love, and it probably also gives the stylist a little more look into the kinds of things that catch my eye! In my opinion, as long as you don’t get mad when a request isn’t sent to you, and you see that it can help your stylist just to know the kind of thing that you’re looking for, then it’s okay.

The Papermoon Waters dress would definitely be better as a knee-length.
