Scentbird sends out authentic perfume each month in smaller vials for you to try them out, or switch up your scent more often.
When you sign up, you fill out a survey to determine your scent preferences, and they recommend specific scents for you to try out. You add perfumes to your queue when you find one that you want to try which is how they choose what to send each month. If you don't choose one by the cut off date, they will send you the scent of the month. Next month it is Oxford Bleu by English Laundry.
Scentbird includes a twist up perfume atomizer with your first shipment. You can order additional atomizers on their website for an additional fee.
When you subscribe to Scentbird, you'll get a $15.00 credit every month to buy a full sized bottle of cologne.
Scentbird has also introduced a new a la carte service. You can choose any cologne you want, with each spray being just $16.95 plus shipping (shipping is free if you order 3 or more sprays). The cases are sold separately.
This month, the next cologne in my line up was Tom Ford Noir EDP. The notes are Bergamot, Violet Flower, Tuscan Iris, Black Pepper Oil, Benzoin Resin, and Opoponax. By the name of this cologne, I definitely expected something dark and sultry, which is exactly what this is. You'll want to go light on the spritzing if you're using this during the summer for sure, but even outside of summer I think this is one you'll want to be light-handed with. It would get too heavy really fast. I do like the scent though, and I think it could even work for a woman, without leaning too far either direction!
Verdict: As far as value goes, all Scentbird vials are the same size, .8 ml, or .27 oz. This particular cologne that I chose has a value of about $15.08. If value is important to you with this subscription, I would recommend checking the prices on the colognes in your queue to make sure each month will be satisfactory as far as value goes!
For men's colognes in particular, it is pretty hard to find a smaller size bottle for traveling if you don't want to take all 3 oz. of your cologne in your toiletries kit. The fact that we can choose colognes we like, in a smaller size that we can't find regularly is great. I love Scentbird for this reason! Plus, you get your $15.00 back in a credit in their shop for cologne, even if you don't love your choice for the month!
