RobbVices-April-2016-Booklet1

With each shipment, Robb Vices sends out a glossy booklet that outlines the products and curation story of each box.

RobbVices-April-2016-Booklet2

The booklet is very well designed, and it includes beautiful photographs and lots of information about the included products.

RobbVices-April-2016-Booklet3

This month’s box features Clase Azul tequila!

RobbVices-April-2016-Booklet4

The booklet talks a bit about the process of making tequila, and it shows how Clase Azul artisans handcraft and paint their signature ceramic bottles.

RobbVices-April-2016-Plata

Clase Azul Plata Tequila (375 ml)- $42.99

Clase Azul’s Plata Tequila is produced from 100% organic blue weber agave.

RobbVices-April-2016-Plata2

The agave is slow cooked for 72 hours in brick ovens like these:

RobbVices-April-2016-PlataOvens

It’s then distilled. Plata is not aged, and it’s bottled in a clear bottle to showcase its clarity.

RobbVices-April-2016-TequilaGlasses

Clase Azul Ceramic Shot Glasses (2 glasses)- $20

It’s such a nice touch that Robb Vices included a set of ceramic shot glasses to accompany the tequila.

RobbVices-April-2016-TequilaGlasses2

I couldn’t find the exact glasses online, so I’ve linked to a similar design.

RobbVices-April-2016-Anejo

Clase Azul Anejo Tequila (200 ml)- approximately $128

Close Azul’s Anejo Tequila is aged for 25 months in white oak barrels. It has a deep amber color and a complex aroma and flavor. It’s also, without a doubt, the most beautiful bottle of liquor I have ever owned.

RobbVices-April-2016-AnejoDetail1

It’s likely also the most expensive. There are a couple of bars in DC that specialize in tequila, and I found one that sells shots of this tequila for $80.

RobbVices-April-2016-AnejoDetail2

What a luxury! I would never spend $80 on a shot of tequila in a bar, but I’m SO EXCITED that I get to try it at home.

RobbVices-April-2016-AnejoDetail3

Plus, I don’t think it’s possible to full appreciate this tequila without the bottle. I really hope that when someone orders a shot of it in a bar or restaurant they pour it tableside.

RobbVices-April-2016-AnejoTasting

I’m now officially ruined for life. This tequila is incredible.

RobbVices-April-2016-AnejoTasting2

I’m not even going to try describing how good it is. Suffice it to say that I don’t know if I can ever buy Jose Cuervo again.

RobbVices-April-2016-Lollipop

Hotlix Tequila Worm Lollipop- $2

Robb Vices included this lollipop as a “just for fun” extra. I don’t know that I’m brave enough to eat it, but it made me smile.

Verdict: This Robb Vices box is amazing. The packaging is gorgeous, the box was packed with extreme care, and I’m thrilled with the contents. Robb Vices promises to deliver a “taste of the good life,” and they most certainly delivered on that promise with this box. Even more impressive is that this box contained $193 worth of goods- that’s fantastic considering the subscription cost. I’ve received a lot of boxes since I began reviewing for MSA a little over a year ago, and this box is definitely one of my all-time favorites!

How do they handle shipping alcohol? I’ve been tempted to subscribe to Bitters and Bottles but they won’t deliver without a signature and I don’t think my employer would appreciate me getting non work-related packages (especially alcoholic ones!). This looks like a really cool subscription.

They do make you sign for it, but FedEx gives you the option to have them hold it so you can pick it up if you can’t sign at home or work.

Thanks! I’ll have to look into getting it after I move – it looks pretty great!

Holly

It might have just been a fluke but was mine the only one that showed up as free for a year?

When inputting the coupon code for the bonus May box, it calculated incorrectly and gave me my 6 month subscription for free as well. I actually received a call for Robb Vices that evening asking me to confirm my security code on my CC ( a little worrisome). She also explained about the coupon code error and told me they would be cancelling my subscription and re-entering my info on their end. I just received an email letting me know my 6 month sub was back in the system and I also received the email from my CC company with the charge amount. Hopefully everything is straitened up now and I will receive everything when promised. The bonus box should arrive in May and the first box of the sub will arrive in June.

This box looks amazing! I don’t even drink but now I’m really sad I didn’t get this incredible set!!

I so appreciate their attention to detail & apparent dedication to quality. I would LOVE a home sub like this.

April was my first box and I love tequila, so this is a win. Haven’t had a chance to try it yet (waiting on my cousin to come out for a visit to try it together), so the pretty bottles are sitting out tempting me, especially after reading your review. Their customer service is great. When I ordered it said on their website that we would be receiving the April box, but I noticed I missed the cutoff according to their FAQ. Long story short, because of the mistake on the homepage, they were able to put an April box together for me. Also, my sister ordered one as a gift for me for my birthday not knowing I signed up. They made it easy to put my account on pause for May since that’s when I’m receiving my gift box. They also have great packaging.

When did you receive it during the month? I can’t seem to find when delivery is.

Reply ButtonReply

Adele

It was the last week of April. I thought I saw on their website they ship the second week of the month.

This is gorgeous! Amazing review, Lindsey!

I had been debating since your last review and finally decided to sign up for the annual. Curious what I’ll get instead of spirits as I don’t drink. Happy Mother’s Day to me!

Ann

Wow. I don’t drink and Robb Vices allows you to opt out of alcohol. I am almost sorry because this is so beautiful! I wonder what I will get instead?!

Heather

I received the March box (won’t spoil what was in it since I’m guessing your review is still coming), but put my subscription on hold after that to save some money. Would have enjoyed this box, but I’m not really drinking at the moment, so I’m glad I skipped. I know part of their “thing” is that the box contents are a surprise, but I do wish they would at least give a hint, or a theme, or at the very least say if it contained alcohol or not! The shipping courier won’t leave a box with booze if you aren’t home, but I don’t like to have my work address as default since it’s inconvenient to get packages here.

Hi Heather!

I didn’t receive the March box, but I’d love to know what was in it!

(FYI- from now on, I’ll be reviewing Robb Vices month to month.)

It was a voucher for a custom made straw hat from Worth & Worth! It came with a booklet describing how the hats are made, swatches for the ribbon and straw colors, and a measuring tape to measure your head circumference. You pick the hat style and color options, then call W & W to place your order. I let my husband use it because he has trouble finding hats that fit and the styles were pretty masculine. The style he picked retails for $425! They said it would be ready late May. I can’t wait to see it and hope he loves it.

Chanda

I just went for a 6 month. MY husbands birthday is on the 20th and I figured it could cover Father’s Day as well. Now fingers crossed he likes it!

I never knew I wanted $128 tequila until reading this.

Does anyone know if they give spoilers? These boxes look amazing, but I’m a little picky and want to know what to expect. I don’t usually enjoy tequila, but this set looks beautiful!

Reply ButtonReply

Heather

No spoilers unfortunately.

Sara

Those bottles are gorgeous!! I don’t drink tequila, but I love the bottles.

Lia

I am weak. Oh, so weak. I just bought a year of this because it looks amazing. I mean, it was only $720, right? Besides, who can put a price on good tequila 😉

Randi

This looks great, unfortunately I’m really picky and a vegetarian so it’d be hard for me to justify this box (last month’s box with the fish and caviar looked good, but obviously I wouldn’t have enjoyed it).
I’m not really a tequila person, but its probably because I’ve never had anything as good as these 2.
Love the bottles and the shot glasses. This really is an amazing sub – seems perfect for a foodie. And I think Lindsey is the perfect reviewer for it 🙂 – love all your reviews Lindsey!
