This month was all about self care.  The little enclosed card said:  “We all know that self-care is important – it’s good to carve out time for ourselves. But it’s not always easy or practical.  There are so many distractions and things to do…the May box includes relaxing activities that you can enjoy from the comfort of your home.”

Truffle Pig – Milk Chocolate Candy Bar – $2.70

What says self care more than chocolate?  Not much.  I received the raspberry Truffle Pig in my Valentine’s Day box, and I loved it, so I was excited to see this one this month!  The chocolate is such high quality and the filling is just delectably creamy.  These really are a reasonably priced artisan chocolate bar as well – you’re getting a pretty good size awesome chocolate bar for less than $3.00 – that seems like a steal.

Tazo Chamomile Tea – $0.20

I love Tazo teas!  I was so bummed when Starbucks switched to Teavana, because I enjoyed the previous teas better. With that said, this chamomile is really good, and I enjoyed my cup for relaxation!

Shore Soaps Relax Bath Salts – $5.00

This is a mixture of dead sea salt, epson salt, and lavender.  It smells amazing, and felt really nice in my bath!  This is a pretty small amount, but I found it very fragrant, and lavender is one of those well-known, relaxing scents!

Color Cards from HappyYou HappyMe – $15.00

These are really cool!  They’re individual cards that you can color for any occasion.  They’re about the size of a coaster, and would be a really fun gift for someone you know loves adult coloring books!

ColoriCrafts Colored Pencils – $3.00

These are from an Etsy shop based in Warsaw Poland.  These would be a super cute gift to go along with the Color Cards!  The boxes are pretty close to the same size, so it would be super cute wrapped up with a ribbon as a gift!

Treat Yourself Well Scandinavian Inspired Art Print – $7.00

This is a really nice card – that I guess can double as an art print.  It is printed on a 5 x 7 folding card, and comes with an envelope.  It is blank inside.

ColoriCrafts Tea Light Holder with Tea Light – $5.00

I really like this tea light holder, and I wish I could find the exact one I received online!  I want to buy a few more to make a set, but I suspect that Deanna, the owner of Revel Box, decorated this herself (which is one of the awesome things about Revel Box – it’s really personalized!)

Verdict:  This Revel Box has a value of about $37.90.  I really think the theme was really nice this month – in conjunction with Mother’s Day.  This box always feels a bit like a care package shipped from a friend: it is very personalized, and everything is thoughtfully chosen.  The value is definitely right at what you pay, don’t expect any PopSugar values here – but I think there’s a certain quality to this box that most don’t achieve.  I always love getting my Revel Box, and I hope you do too!

Have you tried Revel Box yet?

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane…the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane…but she’s always looking for a new subscription to try!

  1. I tried a box they offered (in late March? Early April?) that had some items from their February and March boxes and I really enjoyed it. It was like getting cool stuff from Etsy or from a cool local boutique. The curation was awesome!
I was eyeing that June box like Carrie and I have a June birthday so I decided…why not? (It will come after my birthday but that’s fine with me).
I poked around their site and in addition to their quaterly sub it looks like they plan on having monthly boxes (and so far I can get behind all the themes!). So, I think I need to make room in my budget for these. After subscribing to lots of different boxes this one feels so special.
I hope they get lots of subscribers so they stay in business!!!

    • Thank you so much for your reorder! I am happy you enjoyed receiving the spring cleaning box. I hope you have a Happy Birthday!

  2. This sounds like a cool sub! I just signed up for the June summer adventure box to try it out. I’m not supposed to be signing up for anything new, but my rationalization is that June is my birthday month and the theme is right up my alley! 🙂

    • Thank you, Carrie, for your order of the June box! And happy birthday!

      – Deanna
