The box came with this information card. This month, they partnered with Dog for Dog, a company that donates a product to dogs in need for every product purchased.
Pet Gift Box T-Shirt – Value $10 (?)
I am in need of some new t-shirts for sleeping and hanging out around the house and this will do quite nicely.
Dog for Dog Retrieval Stick – Value $7 (?)
Dog for Dog isn’t yet selling toys on their site so I guess this is part of a new product line. Nyx thought this was pretty awesome although there was a weak spot where the squeaker poked against the outer coating. She had a hole in that in no time.
Dog for Dog Stuff-a-Ball Treat Toy – Value $5 (?)
Nyx can’t have most treats do to her IBD but I may freeze some small bits of her regular food (which is canned) and stick them in here.
Dog for Dog Bungee Dog – Value $12 (?)
This value is also just a guess. Nyx hasn’t had this yet (she only gets to destroy one toy per day) but I fully expect her to love it. And it is size-appropriate, which is nice.
Dog for Dog Dogstreat with Duck Minis (7 oz) – Value $7.99
The only protein in here is duck and there are no byproducts, which is awesome. These minis would be good for training treats if you have a larger dog. These are made in the USA.
Dog for Dog Peanut Butter Dogsbar (1.41 oz) – Value $2.99
These are kind of high in sugar (first ingredient is brown rice syrup and third is blackstrap molasses) but they don’t contain any animal ingredients at all, so would be a good choice for dogs with allergies. If you don’t want to order online, these seem to be available in PetSmart stores.
Nyx with one of the toys from the box.
I was trying to take a photo of how much dog saliva was coating this thing and Nyx photobombed. I like the look in her eyes.
And the toy after Nyx had a few minutes with it.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $45 for the April Pet GiftBox. I did have to guess on a lot of the values, but even if I am off a little bit, that is more than the cost of the subscription and I thought it was a great variety of items (especially considering they were all from the same brand). Nyx liked the toys and the treats are going to be suitable for a lot of dogs with allergies, which is wonderful.
What do you think of the April Pet GiftBox? Do you subscribe to any dog or cat boxes?
