Jesse & Co Genuine Leather Beautiful Pouch – Value $118

This leather is incredibly soft! It’s a small pouch (5X7″), but the quality is impressive. Here it is with a gift card to better show scale:

And it is made in the USA!

luxor-box-may-2016-tumbler

Rose et Marius Precious Tumbler – Value $115

This tumbler is designed to be used as a candle holder, vase, or for any other home decor use! It’s also dishwasher safe (amazingly enough!).

Subscriber will receive different designs, and I think the one I received is gorgeous.

If you are wondering why these tumblers are so expensive:

Precious tumblers inspired by the cement tiles of the old houses in Provence.
Our tumblers are made in Porcelain from Limoges, Our exclusives patterns are set by hand in France. Finish is in platinum* or gold.

Rose et Marius Cement Tile Soap – Value $20

(Subscribers will receive one of many scents.) This is definitely the fanciest soap I own! (With the fanciest packaging!) I wasn’t sure if I loved the fig scent, but it turns out it didn’t matter – because my husband Eric claimed this for himself!

Adornia Love Lariat Necklace in Silver – Value $95

When I first opened this up to take out the necklace, I was worried that I had damaged it – but no! It’s not supposed to be attached. Instead, you wear it like this:

This is such a unique design! It’s made with 925 sterling silver, too, and overall just feels like a quality piece.

Mary Jurek Design Mirabel Mini Vase – Value $40

Mary Jurek Design is a brand frequently featured in Luxor Box, so if you like their designs, you’ll probably get more in the future!

This mini vase is stainless steel and dishwasher safe, and will hold a few flowers! I didn’t have any flowers on hand, but here it is with a pen to give you a sense of scale:

Verdict: This box has a retail value of about $388. I think that value is great for a luxe box, especially considering that this is mainly a home and accessory item box (no high-value beauty item). This is one of the most impressive Luxor Boxes to date, in my opinion – I feel like each item is special!

What do you think of the May 2016 Luxor Box?

  1. I’m super excited about receiving this box. I wanted one of these tumblers. The pouch isn’t my favorite color, but it’s so well made and a great size that I will find a use for it with no problem. LOVE the silver bud vase. It’s gorgeous. Can always use a luxurious soap. And, the necklace, although not exactly my style, will be super cute with the right casual outfit. This box is definitely a WIN. I’m keeping all of the items.

  2. Oh my gosh I love that Tumbler, would anyone be interested in selling or swapping a pastel coloured one?

  3. Is this box still available or anyone interested in selling?

  4. I didn’t cancel in time and now I’m so glad I didn’t.. love this box. I may have to juggle some finances and sign up again, the items they send are such nice quality. It’s sooo nice to get a small box with a few really quality items as opposed to a couple lifestyle boxes I tried recently which send a big box full of big, cheap items. For those wishing there was a wallet or bag instead of the pouch, there was originally a wallet slated for this box, remember? When it turned out to be nearly identical to the cheaper version wholesaled to walmart by the same maker, it was pulled and the tumbler was added as the hero item. So I think the ‘beautiful’ pouch must have been a late inclusion, too, as they would not have sent a box with both a leather wallet and a leather pouch. I imagine they had to do some dancing to get this box re-balanced to perfection after the wallet was pulled. I think they did a fabulous job. Not every item is my exact taste (I’m swapping the shiny vase and may swap the necklace) but I’m still super-happy to see sterling jewelry and beautiful lifestyle items. I really need to find some money and re-sub!

    • I got that one! Super cute.

      • I didn’t see the color of yours…. But I’m not in love with mine either…. it’s a mostly red color…. I have seen others like it on the swap site asking if they would swap for another color.. But I don’t know if too many ppl are searching for the reddish rusty color…. I was so looking forward for a nice pinkish or pastel….

      • Why am I not seeing the cuteness…. I want to like it! It’s funny how it’s so personal. I don’t love the one you got Kristin, but I think I like it better than mine!

        • Leah you got one of my favorites! I think that one’s so stylish. I’m not swapping the one I got, but I’m sure you can find someone to swap with you.

          • I think I like the softer ones. I’m not crazy over the geometric design (is that the right word?). I’m not on the swap boards but I was considering selling it on ebay and you guys are encouraging me to reconsider 🙂

    • I have this one too… are you interested in it?

      • If not I am looking for someone to swap with my red one… ?
Tried the swap site, everyone just wanted to swap out other stuff. ..
I’m wanting one other than red…

  5. This is the first high-end box that I’ve ever had box envy for. If I had the $129 to spend, I would have loved this box. I think i’ll be hitting the swaps for the necklace and/or the pouch. And honestly, the platinum or gold tumbler/candle holders are gorgeous, and certainly i can see the justification of $115 value, but I personally couldn’t bring myself to pay that much for it. Those of you who did get the box, everything looks great.

  6. My tumbler is a kind of teal and silver, which matches the towels in my husband’s bathroom, so I think we’ll put it in there with some flowers or a small plant. I love the pouch, but will probably use it for loyalty cards and medical cards that don’t fit in my wallet, as I have plenty of cosmetic bags. The vase matches the little bowl from another box from last winter that sits on my desk, so that’s where that’ll go – perhaps with a little bud. My soap is lavender, which isn’t a favorite scent of mine, but maybe for the guest bathroom since it’s such a beautiful soap. I like the necklace a lot. So all in all, a winner of a box.

  7. Most of the swap activity is trying to swap tumblers for ones that fit each persons decor better – I liked the light blue one I got, but outside of my husband’s (extensive) light blue button down shirt collection, there is NO light blue in my house. However I was able to quickly swap it for a red one that will be perfect.

However I’m done with vases. I have SO VERY MANY in all shapes and sizes. I love the idea of a little fountain or a terrarium or maybe a lovely little cactus garden for summer. No more vases and pouches – they are the black eyeliners of lifestyle boxes.

  8. I liked this box must better once I got it in person. I think the necklace is unique and though I usually don’t wear lariats, I decided to keep it. The hot pink pouch is adorable and my tumbler was light blue and matches my bedroom. The one thing is I really wish they would stop sending pouches. We have now had 3 in about a year and most of us have tons of makeup pouches. Luxor, please think about purses next time and not small pouches. I am glad to see that they did listen to everyone about sterling silver jewelry. I hope they might consider some unique items like a fountain, a terrarium, nice champagne goblets or a stadium blanket. Still, Luxor is still one of my favorite boxes and I can’t wait to see what they do for summer.

  9. I love my mint green tumbler, and the soap smells amazing. The vase was much cuter than I expected; I think it just doesn’t photograph well. I’m on the fence about the pouch, but I love that it’s made in the US, and the quality is beautiful. I’m not sure a ‘love’ necklace suits me, but I’m happy to see sterling silver in a sub.

Overall this box was really great, with no filler items. I love the materials – steel, sterling silver, real leather, porcelain. The RVs don’t feel as inflated as most other boxes.

I also think it’s amazing that they put this together after pulling their original spoiler item when people complained. I’m actually kind of surprised they could put this together for $129, and it’s not often I think that about a subscription box.

  10. That necklace is beautiful! I love it! I will be creeping the swap site soon! The whole box is great!

  11. I love this box. My tumbler is the Estello Light Blue. The pouch fit all of the makeup I carry and also fits in my purse without taking up too much room.

I was surprised by how much I like the necklace as lariats don’t usually work on me, but I was able to loop the L through the O enough to where I like where it lays. Much happier with Luxor after being disappointed in the last 2 hero items.

  12. Loooove the necklace. Is it just me, or does the vase look like it has skulls on it? hehe

    • I see skulls too…(creepy music)

  13. I thought I’d cancelled my subscription, but soooo glad I didn’t….LOVE THIS BOX!!! I got the tumbler in the red, beige, and white flowery design, which fits perfect with my decor. Necklace isn’t really for me, so it’s up on the swap board….maybe I can get another tumbler!

  14. Great review! Thank you! I love your tumbler. I got a design that is just so not my style (Timbale d’Exception…is that the color name?). The pouch is beautiful (no pun intended). I’m not sure what to use it for, but I don’t think I want to sell it because it’s just so soft. The necklace is not for me (love what? the necklace loves me? I love myself? Love is important?) so that will be sold, but I’m glad to hear it’s silver. I hadn’t realized that. I love the vase. This is a very expensive sub which I’m not sure I should keep, but their spoiler items keep pulling me back for more! And maybe if I stick around look enough I’ll get something from Brandon Blackwood 🙂

  15. LOVE Luxor box! They have such great curation. The last box (one with the wooden watch, which is up for swap, btw) wasn’t for me, but I could still appreciate the curation. This box was amazing. Likely will swap away the necklace, but again, can completely appreciate the box. Overall, if there’s an item that I don’t like, it’s either can be gifted or swapped very easily. I might look on eBay for a few extra items from this box! Thanks, Luxor. As always, great job.
