Loot Crate recently began offering a separate subscription from their monthly boxes called Level Up. The items sent in their Level UP subscriptions are not repetitive products from their monthly boxes but do tie into the same monthly themes. There are 5 different subscription plans, each offer a different curation of products: Level Up Wearable, Level Up Socks, Level Up Shirt, Level Up Accessories, and Level Up Bundle (Level Up Bundle is a combination of the Wearable and the Socks subscriptions).

This is a review of four different LVL UP subs – the Wearable, Shirt, Socks, and Accessories subscriptions.

LVL UP MAY 2016 - info 2

Each bundle comes with an info booklet describing and showing all the items for that month’s collections. This month’s theme is “The Power Collection.”

LVL UP MAY 2016 - info 3

The info booklet has changed a little – now it’s one, big, foldable piece of paper instead of an actual booklet.

And it unfolds into a giant poster featuring the items that month. To be honest, I don’t know how much value this has as a poster… I wouldn’t hang it up myself because I think it looks more like it’s just featuring four people I don’t know.

LVL UP MAY 2016 - items 1

Exclusive Super Mario Bros Super Star Socks – value: $5-10?

These are cute! I think the colors are great, plus they have some extra arch support.

Exclusive He-Man Crew Socks – value: $5-10?

I haven’t really ever bene into He-Man/Masters of the Universe, but these socks feel well made and are nice and soft!

LVL UP MAY 2016 - items 2

Super Mario Bros. Infinity Scarf – value: $18?

What a cute scarf! I love all the 8-bit characters. I think you could wear this scarf with a lot of looks/different geeky tees.

Exclusive Marvel Heroes Charm Bracelet – value: $16.99?

This is a great bracelet! Here’s a better look…

LVL UP MAY 2016 - items 3

I love the charms and how solid the bracelet feels. This is a great Marvel/Avengers accessory.

LVL UP MAY 2016 - items 4

Masters of the Universe Battle Cat T-Shirt – value: $12?

Here’s the Loot Tee this month! It’s a nice design – I think it looks cool and the material is very comfortable.

LVL UP MAY 2016 - items 5

Exclusive LOTR Preciousss Long Sleeve Tee – value: $16?

My husband loves Lord of the Rings, so he’s a fan of the Loot Wearable this month! He did make the comment that he’d want to wear an undershirt because it’s not a very soft fabric. He thought it was scratchy – Hopefully this is something that will get softer as it gets broken in and washed a couple times.

Verdict: If you’re looking for a guarantee that you’ll get geeky wearables each month, Level Up is the way to go. You can bundle everything, or do as little as one Level Up – so it does make this subscription really flexible. On top of that, they release which franchise will be featured for each item while you can still buy – it’s very helpful to avoid anything you might not want. Personally, I am always happy with the quality of the items they send! And it’s kind of fun that so much stuff is exclusive – if you ever spot someone else with one of the items, you know they got it from Loot Crate!

What size was the LOTR long sleeved tee? I was sent a large and it’s like wearing a tent, a hot scratchy tent.

I wore the scarf to work (an elementary school) yesterday. It was definitely a conversation piece!

Handsome hubby! He looks like Nathan Filion of Castle and Firefly fame.

I used to sub to the Level Up Accessories and just cancelled it because I just really wasn’t getting anything I’d actually wear. The sock sub, on the other hand, looks intriguing. I LOVE getting fun socks!!
