The Subscription Box: Fruit for Thought

The Cost:  $37.99 bi-monthly, with discounts available for a longer subscription.  I went through the check out process to find shipping information - shipping to my home is $14.74 - this will likely change depending on your location.

COUPON: Save 10% off your first box with code MSA10!

Ships to:  There are many countries in the drop down for shipping.  I tried a few international locations, and my shipping was changed based on the choice.  I would reach out to the company if you're interested in subscribing and you're not in the US!

The Products:  Colorful and flavorful items based on a fruit or vegetable theme!

Check out the Women's Subscription Box Directory and make sure to add Fruit for Thought to your subscription list or wishlist!

The May/June box theme is Piña Colada!  The last day to sign up to receive this exact box is June 16th (if you want it in May, sign up before May 16th).

Con Arte - Piña Colada Coconut Shell Candle - $12.00

This is a coconut shell candle from Puerto Rico, made with paraffin wax.  It smells amazing, and looks so cool.  There's something about opening a box and smelling the theme - which happened here because of this candle - the whole box smells like Piña Colada!

Pineapple straw - $1.00?

This wasn't listed on the information sheet, but I figured I would add it in my review.  This is a super cute straw, and I was a bit bummed that the pineapple came smushed - this would be a fun addition to an afternoon drink in the summer!

Homemade Tropical Toasted Coconut Marshmallow Lollipop - $1.45

I could not find this exact lollipop on The Groovy Baker's Etsy page, so I've just linked to her shop (where everything looks delicious!)  This was really good, and different than I expected.  I expected a marshmallow on a stick, and this was more like a white chocolate base - not exactly, but that's the best way I can describe it!

Piña Colada Candy Sticks - $2.85

These were yummy! Very flavorful, and tasted just like you would expect old fashioned hard candy sticks to taste.

Silly Pineapple Birthday Card - $5.50

This is a really cute card!  It says "You may be a pineapple, but I'm coconuts! Happy Birthday!" inside.  This is a perfect card for a summer birthday.  All of the cards from Fisk and Fern are hand illustrated, and I enjoyed browsing their Etsy shop!

And an individually wrapped present!  What is it?

FFT5

Piña Colada Moisturizing Fluffy Whipped Soap - $6.00

Yay, for soap!  Ohhhh my gosh this smells amazing!  I love the texture of it too, and it is very moisturizing!  I think I may need to buy a few things from this shop!

FFT6

Pineapple Decal 16 oz Tumbler - $20.00

Seriously, how cute is this travel cup?  This is BPA free, and looks super pretty in person.  This is a hand wash only item, which is always a bit of a bummer, but with the decal, I understand why.  I love this!

Pineapple Shaped Bath Sponge $5.75

This is super cute, and a MASSIVE bath sponge.  It has a rope at the top to keep it hanging in the shower, so it will dry out completely too.  This is a super fun item to throw in.

Verdict:  The value of this box is about $55.00, which is great for a new, small box company!  I loved the curation of the items, and I think it was a great mix of items that most everyone can use.  The theme, piña colada, was perfect for summer, and everything fit with the theme closely.  The value of the box comes out above the cost even when I add in the shipping cost to my area.  The theme for the July/August box is Blueberry Peach Cobbler - which sounds AWESOME!

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane...the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane...but she's always looking for a new subscription to try!

Just tried it – does not seem to be showing sold out to me. There are 2 boxes regular and mini. Perhaps the mini is sold out

I’m so happy to see this review! I was super curious about what was going to be in their first box. The items are really cute. I’d definitely sign up for a honeydew or cucumber themed box as I love those scents and flavors.

Interesting box. Wow! Shipping sure is expensive. I prefer boxes that include shipping. $52.73 which included the shipping costs …. this box is priced high. I base the value of the box on the total amount paid. The box is super cute though and curated nicely. Because this box is highly scented someone would have to like the specific scents in the box. I’ve always found having specific scents in boxes to be risky. Not something I would sub to, unless I know I would not hate the scent. The candle is super cute, and so is the fluff soap. Hope the value increases in the future and there will be a variety of scents in each box. Blueberry and Peach maybe its just me, yet I’m not liking the combination together. Yet separately it would be okay.

This box is so cute, but I’m bummed the candle is paraffin. If it were soy or beeswax, I’d be all over it. I’m looking forward to seeing what’s in the July box.
