Cat Lady Box is a monthly subscription box for cat ladies (or anyone who is crazy about cats)!  The Cat Lady Box has 2-3 cat-themed items – wearables, items for the home, books, etc.  The Crazy Cat Lady Box contains everything from the Cat Lady Box plus a few items just for cats.

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

I love how the information cards have custom artwork every month.  And the back has more information about the items in the box.

catladybox-april-2016-earrings

Shining Star Cat Earrings – Value $14.99

I took the value from the information card since there wasn’t a maker listed.  These are adorable.  And as it happens, I bought some titanium French hooks last week from Amazon so I will replace the hooks on these ASAP so I can wear them (I have a nickel allergy).  I want like six pairs of these – my ears each have six holes in them – although I guess you don’t typically wear dangly earrings in cartilage piercings…

catladybox-april-2016-mug

Catnip Heart by Imperial Cat – Value $2.48

Mr. Kitty was into this pretty much from the moment I took it out of the box.  I guess he was having a good day.  (This toy is from Cat Claws, which also has its own subscription box!)

Happy Flower by Loopies – Value $5.99

Loopies toys are always hits with my crew.  I am using the price from the information card because I can’t find a reputable, non-wholesale source for this item online.  But $5.99 seems reasonable for the size and complexity you get.

“World’s Best Cat Mom” Mug by Cat Lady Box – Value $12.99

Another exclusive item.  This, like my “Cat Lady” mug from a previous Cat Lady Box, is one my husband will never reach for but will always give to me.  And I’m fine with that!

catladybox-april-2016-shirt

“Mother of the World’s Cutest Cat” Shirt by Cat Lady Box – Value $24.99

I will proudly wear this for weekend grocery shopping (it’s not work appropriate since I work at a law firm…).  People will be confused seeing me get out of the car at the vet’s office with this shirt on, and two cat magnets on my car, and a big Rottweiler.  (Nyx has weekly laser treatment appointments for knee pain.)  Oh well.

For cat photos, instead of showing the toys in action, I thought I’d chronicle the difficulties I had with my attempts at unboxing and photography.  I don’t know why, but every single one of my cats wanted to be involved and they kept interfering with my ability to actually finish…this was the most exasperating photo session of all time!  (But also one of the funniest.)

Mr. Kitty and Madison wanted to know what I was doing.

Mr. Kitty licks the heart toy.

Verdict: I calculated a value of a little over $61 for the May 2016 (Crazy) Cat Lady Box.  That is significantly more than the cost of the box and I loved everything in it.  This box consistently has a good value and lots of unique items and is probably one of my favorites.  Although next time I might shut my cats in the bedroom if I want to get done taking photos in under 30 minutes!

Looking forward to wearing the shirt. – Purfectly put together. (except earrings I cant wear) yet they are super cute. I wish there would be option to substitute items like that. Love how every thing in this box matches and fits in with the cat mom theme – These boxes seem to keep getting better and better.

I can’t do earrings either. The only thing I will really use is the mug. Contemplating trying to make the earrings into necklaces by removing the hooks and putting a chain through the hole instead. I’m just not positive if a chain will fit though so i’m hesitant.

You can get jump rings (cheap at Michael’s or somewhere) and attach one to the earrings first. Then a chain should fit through no problem, as long as you get a big enough jump ring. (May help to have roundnose pliers for that.)

I just joined! Doing this instead of popsugar (my 6 month deal runs out this month). Super excited for treats for myself and my kitty! Those earrings are so cute.

I’m so glad you loved it, Ragan! The earrings are sterling silver (nickel-free!), so you’d be safe to wear them right “out of the box”!

The action shots cracked me up! This is real life. 🙂

Please do more earrings like these! I’m so sad I missed out on this box. I’m signing up for next month tho. I loved those earrings. I guess it’s about time I signed up between my four Persians 🙂

My cats were all over this box and wouldn’t even let me get stuff out of it. Mia jumped in, grabbed the heart and took off with it! I have Reeko the flower and he just loved it. Then the two cats took turns with the toys, switching back and forth playing with them! Total success!

One of my kitties actually went crazy over the shirt – apparently it smelled like catnip from the toys. Goober….

If I ordered now, would I get this box or June’s box?

Dorian @ CatLadyBox

You’d get June as your first box, but once you subscribe you just might (hint, hint) get an email offering this one so you can get one right away. 😉

Ragan

I think you would get June. But they often offer products from past boxes in their shop if there is something specific you are looking for. (Click my name to get to their shop.)
