Included was an information card detailing the products in the box and some product literature for one of the items.
Fru-licious Freeze Dried Apple (0.35 oz) – Value $1
Last month we got this in strawberry banana. I am saving this. Occasionally we plan poorly at the supermarket and end up with no fruit at the end of the week. I use freeze-dried fruit to supplement until we get the chance to shop again!
Quality of Life Curcumin SR (60 caps) – Value $19.95
This is vegetarian (yay!). Curcumin is good for fighting inflammation and this product is formulated for a sustained release over time and better absorption when compared to other curcumin supplements. I can’t tell much of a difference yet but I appreciate getting a full bottle to try out.
Peak Energy in Fresh Mint (2 tablets) – Value $1.67
These have caffeine and B vitamins for energy. They also contain ribose, which may help people with congestive heart failure but hasn’t really been proven to have much of an effect in healthy people.
Xylichew Peppermint (12 pieces) – Value $2.60
This is sugar-free gum sweetened with xylitol from birch. I’ve had it before and like it. Just keep it away from dogs – xylitol is toxic for dogs even in relatively small amounts.
Tranquil Time Tea (1 bag) – Value $0.53
This has chamomile, spearmint, licorice, lemongrass, and valerian. I could do without the licorice, which is not my favorite flavor, but it is nice and calming and caffeine-free which is good right before bedtime.
Women’s Complete Smarty Pants (2 gummies) – Value $0.41
Men’s Complete Smarty Pants (2 gummies) – Value $0.42
These only have 2 gummies each (one complete dose is 6 gummies). These are really getting a push this month; they were also in Love with Food. My husband will eat the men’s ones but they are not vegetarian so I will pass the women’s vitamins on to someone else.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $26.58 for the May Bulu Box Weight Loss version. That is a wonderful value for this box and is especially nice for me since the big-value item is vegetarian. I thought there was a nice mix of items although I do have to say, I’m not sure why these items specifically relate to weight loss. Overall, I think this one is best for people who like to try supplements and/or people who would buy items in the Bulu Box shop (since you can review box items for points).
