BLUUM MAY 2016 - BOX

Bluum
3.1 overall rating
24 Ratings | 12 Reviews

Bluum is a monthly subscription box for babies and toddlers. Their boxes are very customized – specific to the month of your child’s age. Also, they recently began allowing you to “build your own Bluum,” meaning you can even pick what products you’ll receive out of a very wide selection of items (one of my very favorite parts of this subscription!). However, subscribers can still skip choosing their items in order to still be surprised each month.

BLUUM MAY 2016 - packaging

The box I’m reviewing is customized from my preferences and choices for my son, who was born this past September! Because of this, my box may look completely different than someone else’s box.

BLUUM MAY 2016 - info 1

This is my least favorite part… My baby turns 9 months on June 2nd! He’s getting so big and growing so fast!

BLUUM MAY 2016 - info 2

Bluum doesn’t send item cards in the boxes, they email you the information about the items.

BLUUM MAY 2016 - items 1

Nature's Baby Organics Silky Dusting Powder – 4 oz, value: $9.95

Nature’s Baby Organics Diaper Ointment – 3 oz, value: $11.95

I’ve been loving these products! I have heard of this brand before but these are the first products I’ve tried from them. I think they work great and I think I’ll probably buy more when these run out!

BLUUM MAY 2016 - items 2

Babyganics Face, Hand, & Baby Wipes – 40 ct, value: $6.99

I’ve actually bought these wipes a couple times before, so I was happy that Bluum was offering them! Glad to have another pack of wipes to toss into my bag.

Little Teether Chewable Teething Necklace with Hearts – value: $34.99 (on sale for $20!)

This is a great teething necklace! I love the little red hearts. It’s made of food-grade, BPA-free, and non-toxic silicone. There’s a knot between each bead so if something happens, all the beads don’t come off at once. The clasp pops apart if the baby pulls too hard, so the necklace doesn’t break. I have a couple other teething necklaces and I’m thrilled that this one is made with doubled-up ribbon! It feels so strong and well-made. Also, you can wash this on the top rack of the dishwasher!

BLUUM MAY 2016 - items 3

Verdict: This was a great Bluum box for me! I found some new favorite products and snagged an extra of an old fave. The value comes out to $63.88, which I’m definitely happy with!

I ordered a 3-month sub for my granddaughter and I think it was a mistake I customized the box and not a single item I chose was included.
I contacted customer service and wrote “I’m very confused by the Items my granddaughter received in her June box. I customized her box and not one item I chose was included. I’m very disappointed and hope this was a glitch on your part. Please get back to me and let me know how you are going to rectify this.”
Here is the response:
Hi Cindy,
Thanks for writing in, happy to help 🙂
I’m so sorry to hear you didn’t receive any of your choices items! The items you selected were no longer available and you were sent an email to select new items. Since no response was received by the deadline provided in the email surprise items were sent in their place. I’m sorry if you did not receive this email.
I hope this explains things.
As always we are here to help with any questions or concerns.
All the best,
Tiffany

That is no way helped me or rectified the matter. Unless they do something to FIX the problem, I’ll never do business with Bluum again.

I just recieved my first box and I love it! I found a coupon that gave my half off for my first month and it was totally worth it. They gave me items I wouldn’t have normally purchased. I was a little worried from reading the reviews but it worked out well.

I had Bluum for over 2 years and I cancelled a few months ago due to the same problems mentioned above. I emailed customer service several times about the problems and never got a reply. I am constantly offered to renew at $23/month for a year and so I came on here to check out user comments. Unfortunately it sounds like I won’t be renewing. I literally had all those issues above and I’m not an uneducated person. I know how to look at products and find the best value but they just disappeared and I could never choose anything worth more than the price of my box. And usually I couldn’t pick products to even fill my box. So the constant website issues and product issues are a deal breaker for me. And I hate that! It used to be so good. I miss it.

I have had the subscription for the last 6 months. I am beginning to HATE it. At first, I loved being able to choose what my son gets in his box. But due to REPEATED inconsistencies and obstacles, it has been a very frustrating experience. It has been 6 months of using their website/app and it doesn’t seem to be improving.
First, when I select an item (ie. a dog stuffed animal in the toy category), I get the message that “There are no matches for the age and gender in this category at the moment. New products arrive at the end of each month!” when there clearly were selections in ALL the categories just a second ago!
Also, once I choose an item for the box, the selections in the categories that are still available go from me being able to choose from 8 to only 1-4 selections. Where are all the other options that were JUST there?
I have been trying since Wednesday to choose the selections for my July box. I was really hoping that it was a temporary glitch and would be resolved. Unfortunately, it has not been.
I received a 12 month subscription and will definitely not be recommending this or renewing.

I had this subscription for 4 months. The first month I got that same teething necklace and love it. The following months it would not allow me to choose items in my babys age group – she is 11 months – even though they had her age in the profile and said all the items would be age appropriate. Also, my items the last 2 months totaled less than $30. Not worth it to me, so I cancelled my subscription.

Love the baby photos! He looks like your kid all right – definitely a lot of family resemblance there! The teething necklace looks good too.

I’m usually only offered items that are under $10, usually under $5 as my choices. I think next time I sign up for an account I should use Liz’s name. I bet I would get fantastic choices lol. I see a pattern with this subscription. I’ve had them about a year now.

Adeline, I don’t use Liz’s name either! Or any email associated with MySubscriptionAddiction.com. I have everything for this account under my personal information. They give me no special treatment! =]

I’m so curious if you chose those items, or whether they were chosen for you. I’ve been choosing my own products for the past few months, but I NEVER get anything worth more than a few dollars as an option at any time. My boxes never go over $30 ever, and I try to play with their “choose it yourself” categories in a number of ways, but just have no luck! Thanks!

JBG – I choose my items every month. I like the control to make sure I’m getting products I will use. Sorry you haven’t been having any luck! The only tip I can really offer is that if you don’t see anything you want, give it a week or two (if you have the time before your box ships – I always check out the products pretty regularly) and there’s usually new/different inventory later. Hope it gets better for you! Hope this helps.
