Beauty Fix is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box from Dermstore.com. This box includes a variety of items: makeup, haircare, skincare, etc., but skincare items are the most prevalent in the boxes.

Each box comes with a card detailing the items included with pictures.

Derma Cellular Collagen Booster Cream by Doctor Babor – 15 ml Value $46.20

This cream left my skin feeling incredibly soft and smooth – and I didn’t mind the fragrance at all. This sample is a pretty good size too (a little over 1/4 of the full size). Here it is with the foil off:

HA5 Rejuvenating Hydrator by SkinMedica – .13 oz Value $11.60

Another formula that made my skin feel amazingly smooth! Kind of unfortunate that the full-size version is $178, but I’ll enjoy this sample while I have it!

Pure Hydration Hyaluronic Acid Serum by Replenix – 8.35 ml Value $19.30

This formula is a little more gel-like than I was expecting. (Usually with serums, the formula has an oil base.) I applied this right after the shower when my skin is most sensitive, and I had no issues! The gel formula is a little tacky for a few minutes. (I may have just put on a little too much, though.)

Beauty Blender Micro Mini – Value $9

This beauty blender is SO tiny! It’s great for precision in applying foundation around my eye area and around my nostrils.

Anthelios 60 Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid by La Roche-Posay – 3 ml Value $1.35

This is a tiny sample – probably good for only one use, but it was enough for me to be impressed with the formula. It does exactly what it promises – goes on super light and absorbs almost instantly. No greasy sunscreen feel!

And here is a better photo to show just how tiny the Beauty Blender Mini is:

glotherapeutics Vital Eye Cream – FULL SIZE! Value $40

Yay for full-size eye creams! This one was very gentle and hydrating – so I’m thrilled to have the full-size version.

Avene Mineral Ultra-light Hydrating Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50+ – FULL SIZE! Value $28

I was surprised that 1.3 ounces is considered full-size with this sunscreen, but I’ll take it! Since we have two “ultra light” sunscreens in this box, I couldn’t help but compare them, and I think the La Roche-Posay version is the “lightest,” but both are good. Plus, SPF is pricey, so I love getting as many samples as I can in subscription boxes before summer starts!

Verdict: This box has a value of about $155! I think BeautyFix almost always delivers a great value compared to the cost, and they did that again this month. If you are looking for a variety of types of items, this box may not be for you, but if you love a skincare heavy box, this is an A+!

What do you think of the May 2016 Beauty Fix box? What are your favorite items this month?

  1. I had cancelled my sub last month (after I received my box) to save money but darn it, I just couldn’t stick to it and redubbed. As far as expiration dates, I didn’t think you were supposed to keep anything beyond six months anyways. I love this box!

  2. … i signed up for beautyfix before and found that some of the products had 6 months shelf life before they were due to be EXPIRED.

have they changed this? would you mind sharing us the expiration date on them if it’s possible?

    • I didn’t know this. I hope someone answers this question because I would like to know also. Well, I’ve already ordered it so I hope it works out. I have tons of products so was not necessarily going to get to the items in this box immediately.

    • I signed up last month and the skin Medica bonus package I received is due to expire in 6 months (November). The other items in the April box looked okay from an expiration standpoint.

But the skin Medica expiration dates spooked me – so I cancelled my sub. I’m interested in this May box – but would really appreciate any insights on the expiration dates of the May contents. Thanks!

  3. After all, I didn’t get last month, but got this month, lol. I wear sunscreen year around, so it is good to get a full-size product once in a while. Great value always and I will use everything eventually.

  4. Were the expiration dates ok for this box? I read previous reviews that mentioned that Beauty Fix often has soon-to-be expired products.

    • completely agree. i signed up last year and some of the products had 6 month shelf life before they were going to expire!! had to cancel due to this, but am wondering if they have listened to customers and changed this.

  5. I’ve been using the collagen boosting cream, the eye cream, the serum, and the Avéne SPF since my box arrived and I’ve been loving all of them.

I love BeautyFix because the value is always there for me even when I don’t use everything. The ability to sample lots of products I would probably never grab myself and get some amazing higher priced items in the box is great. This box was also just a really perfect box for May and seasonal skin care too.

    • Uh oh, I’m considering grabbing another one since it’s still available because all the products are really great. And I can’t even debate that it’s not worth it value wise…

  6. I just placed my order for one of them. I don’t know why because I am swimming in products. But I couldn’t help myself….

    • It really is the perfect box for summer weather. All the items are SPF or hydrating basicslly, and I can easily see myself using up all the products before summer ends. Also, the value for cost of box is amazing.

  7. This looks sooooo good! I canceled late last year because I just have too many products and the cost adds up, but man I want this one.

  8. Great box…Beauty Fix nails it every month.

  9. I love beauty fix but I wish all the skinmedica products weren’t so pricey! A lot of those lil samples make my skin look so nice

  10. This box is still available =) I just signed up. Looks like a great box.

  11. So much skincare… *__*

    I have issues.

  12. I cancelled this sub after receiving this box, mainly because I am so overrun with skin care from just two boxes from them, plus all of the others I receive. Hopefully, at some point, I will get through my inventory and be in a position to re-sub! I wish this one allowed you to see spoilers and skip months if you don’t need the items, but I understand they can’t all operate like that.

    • How did you cancel??

      • I emailed customer service. My first email was ignored. On my second email, I pointedly asked for written confirmation and they replied within 24 hours that I was cancelled.

      • I called to cancel and it was fast for me, skipped a month or two, and just signed up when I got the spoilers. I’ll cancel again via phone and wait for next month’s spoilers to decide if I need it or not. Phone was easy for me!

  13. I would be happy to get this same box for 3 months in a row! I love the skin products and how they made my skin feel, and no irritation/redness! I really loved this month’s box.

    • Redness/irritation is a big problem for me, so now I have to buy this box…thanks for helping to fuel my addiction Bonny! ?

  14. If I ever use up my beauty product backlog I will subscribe to this box (unfortunately that is quite unlikely…).

  15. This was a super awesome box with a really good value and everything in the box is useful. I love Beautyfix!

  16. My mini blender also went super fast in the swap section. i have two full size ones and do not wear makeup alot so it was an easy trade. This box has continued to please me month after month which is saying alot. I am just now cancelling a good portion of my subs but this one will stay, at least until it starts sucking. lol

  17. I loved this box! I had so many people who wanted to trade for the mini Beauty blender. I rarely wear makeup so I swapped it. My daughter has a full size beauty blender and loves it! I hope I can swap for more of some of these items.

    • Yay!! ? So happy to hear you liked this box, too! 🙂
