WELLNESSTRIBEAPRIL2016_5

My box came with a handwritten note from the founders welcoming me to the “tribe”.

WELLNESSTRIBEAPRIL2016_6

Let me just say that at this point I was already in love with this box.  Was it the pretty paper or the personalization, you ask?  No, it was the smell.  As soon as I opened the box, the most pleasant and sweetly floral, but not in overpowering, smell greeted me and put a smile on my face. I didn’t know yet what the smell was from but I was sure I needed more of it in my life.

Intelligent Nutrients Renewing Oil Serum (travel size) - $33

This is a light oil for the face, neck and décolleté made from organic oils such as safflower, argan, kernel, grape, raspberry seed, pumpkin, black cumin and acai.  The scent is earthy with a slight citrus note and it’s just lovely.  I love using oils on my face and body.  Intelligent Nutrients (great name, right?) says this oil “removes the red, relights the brightness, plumps to unline and firm, and makes elasticity bounce back for a what-did-you-do-differently radiance.

WELLNESSTRIBEAPRIL2016_8

Bounce Super Vitality Burst - $3

This gluten and dairy free snack is made with cranberries, goji berries, raspberries and coconut and it is yum!  It has 170 calories, 5 grams of fat and 4 grams of protein.  I ate it before my workout this morning and wanted another one right afterward but I’m pretty sure you’re not supposed to each them that way.

WELLNESSTRIBEAPRIL2016_9

Made from Earth Vitamin E + Citrus Body Wash - $13

This is an organic shower and body gel with Vitamin E.  It’s a little on the thicker side when it comes from the bottle but it left my skin nice and soft.  The smell is a very citrus-y which comes from organic limes, lemons and oranges.  I think this would be great to wake you during your morning shower but I’d probably prefer something more calming in the evening.  There is a seal on this bottle in case you want to gift or exchange it but this is organic, holistic and chemical free so really, why would you?

WELLNESSTRIBEAPRIL2016_10

Natty Naturals Bohemian Collection Herbal Facial Steam - $13

The card describes this items as a “deliciously soothing blend of botanicals and herbs useful for purifying, cleansing and hydrating skin for a healthy natural glow.”  Delicious is right!  I found my favorite item.  This can be used for a facial steam or in the bath (after mixed with hot water and strained).

WELLNESSTRIBEAPRIL2016_11

Good Stuff Cacao Original - $5

This item is made with raw organic cacao and raw Michigan honey and that’s all folks.  It is gluten free, soy free, dairy free, has no GMOs and is a product of fair trade!  The taste starts off with a sweet honey flavor and finishes with a more savory, bitter cocoa flavor.  It’s definitely a stronger taste but we opened the package last night and my hubby took the rest with him to work this morning.

S.W. Basics of Brooklyn Exfoliant Sachets - $3

This exfoliant is a mix of organic oat and almond flours with mineral-rich sea salt.  After mixing the product with water (or you can use a cleanser), I gently massaged the paste into my face and left if on for a few minutes.  My face felt soft and smooth afterward.  I’m a fan of most of S.W. Basics of Brooklyn’s products – they are simple and effective.

WELLNESSTRIBEAPRIL2016_13

Aura Cacia Renew Essential Oil Blend - $10

This minty citrusy oil blend is to help “mend, restore and rejuvenate your spirit and refresh your home.” They suggest rubbing it on your hands and then inhaling to improve mood but I can also see using it in my diffuser during the day.  The blend of oils include Sweet orange oil, Lemon oil, Grapefruit oil, Pine oil, Spike Lavender oil, Peppermint oil.  I’m a huge fan of essential oils so I’m happy to add this to my stash.

Verdict:  Wellness Tribe did a great job curating this box and I really enjoyed all the products.  This is definitely a nice subscription with enough item variation that it would make a great gift for someone into holistic and natural products.   The value is definitely there too with a total of $80 in items for the $39.95 (plus $5.00 shipping) monthly price.

The curation was surprisingly well done for the price. Got me very tempted because I love S.W. Basics but there’s no way I’m giving my money to a company that considers their subbies “part a of the tribe.” Oh well, more money in my pocket lol.

Just to let you know, there’s no such thing as something that is “chemical free”. Chemicals are the building blocks of everything on earth. They’re also not good or bad, that depends on the chemical and dosage. I’m sorry, I’m not trying to be mean, I just think that’s important to mention, since terms like chemical and toxic, etc. are thrown around by marketers with little regard to their meaning in context.
