The box included an information card with a list of items and a monthly message.

petpackdog-april-2016-banana

Wholesome Pride Banana Bites (8 oz) – Value $8.99

These are made from bananas and coconut oil (so they are basically the same as banana chips for people).  They are made in the USA and I like that they don’t have any grains or animal proteins in them – they should be great for dogs with allergies.

petpackdog-april-2016-bone

Petrageous Designs Toughrageous Nylon Bone in Lime Green (12 in) – Value $15.38

Well this LOOKED like it would last awhile.  But Nyx had a hole in it within a minute and a half.  It was fun while it lasted, though.

petpackdog-april-2016-wipes

Petkin Pet Stain Wipes (20 count, jumbo size, citrus scent) – Value $19.99

Take this value with a grain of salt.  I can’t find this product in any US stores except the one linked to above – this seems to be from the UK.  Most of the Petkin wipes that ARE available from multiple sources in the US are considerably lower in cost.  Anyway, these are large and embedded with enzymes to help get rid of pet odors.  Although they came in a dog box, I think they will be especially good for cat barf.

Exclusively Dog Natural Bone in Salmon and Mango (3 oz) – Value $3.33

These are free of wheat, corn, and soy and are made in the USA using only natural ingredients.  This is pretty big so I think I would break it into smaller pieces before giving to a dog.

Nyx with the toy.

Nyx after I tried to take the toy away.

And the toy after I got it away.  I think this was a record – she put this hole there in about 90 seconds…

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $48 for the April 2016 PetPack for dogs.  That is one of the best values I’ve seen for this subscription.  I do think the price I found for the wipes was kind of high but even if you cut it in half, this would still be a pretty good deal.  All the items and brands were new to me, which was great.  I wish the toy had been more durable, though.

Nyx and her toys just crack me up!!! Reminds me of my Mini Pin… My Pom tends to hog the toys (I buy two of everything)…. But when she gets her paws on something, she seeks to destroy!!!lol

Our beagle chews holes in toys like that in under 5 minutes! I actually thought the one from this months Petgiftbox would be durable. I was wrong!

What’s your favorite brand of heavy chewer toys? I’m getting ready to foster 2 female Rottweiler mixes and know from working with them at the rescue that they’re NYX-level power chewers. Which sub box consistently sends the most durable toys? My senior boy only likes plush toys and while he’s fairly destructive, he isn’t a super heavy chewer. Thanks!

JW Pet Company makes a lot of rubber toys that hold up (but stay away from the ones with feet and horns that are sort of separate from the body and can be chewed off). That’s the first one I can think of offhand. (It helps that Nyx likes almost everything I give her.)

Bullymake Box is toys for power chewers and that’s the one that sends the most durable toys. (No plushes, though. Even though my reviews don’t show treats, you can get a box option with treats if you want.) It sounds like you might have a hard time finding a single box that will work for all the dogs you subscribe. (Barkbox toys for heavy chewers are sometimes durable and sometimes not.)

There are some Nylabone toys that Nyx liked but can’t have anymore because they are embedded with chicken flavor. But she loved them and they were durable. Search “Nylabone Dura Chew Ham Steak Dog Chew Toy” and “Nylabone Monster Bone Chicken Flavor” on Amazon.
