NouveauTique Jewelry Subscription Box Review – March 2016

This post may contain referral/affiliate links. Read the full disclosure.

NouveauTique is an artisan subscription box from Lisa Carpenter, an Etsy seller from California.  Ms. Carpenter designs jewelry, tree sculptures, and more, using wire and semiprecious stones.

NouveauTique sent us this box for review purposes. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Subscription Box: NouveauTique

Lots of bubble wrap here.  Everything was quite secure!

The Cost: $40

The Products: Every month, receive a mini tree sculpture, a piece of jewelry, and a third surprise item created according to a seasonal theme.

Ships to: US (free), Canada, UK, and Australia

Check out the Artisan Subscription Box Directory and make sure to add NouveauTique to your subscription list or wishlist!

What a lovely information card!  This month’s theme was “Make Your Own Luck.”

Miniature Wire Tree with African Jade Stones – Value $30 (?)

African jade is apparently associated with good fortune.  Ms. Carpenter is much better with wire than I will ever hope to be – there are no pointy or jagged edges at all.  I think this will look nice on my bookshelf at work.  This was not available in the NouveauTique shop but there were some other small trees priced about the same.

“Make a Wish” Wire Word Sculpture – Value $20 (?)

This value is a total guess since there were no comparable items in the NouveauTique shop.  You are supposed to hang this with ribbon.  I have an idea of where this will go in my house, and I think I will use the purple ribbon from the necklace box to hang it (see below).

I took several pictures of the packaging for this item – it is quite nice.

Lucky Horseshoe Necklace – Value $24 (?)

This is also not available in the NouveauTique shop, but there are some similar pieces.  This has rose gold Swarovski pearls and sterling silver filled chain.  It is delicate and just the sort of jewelry I gravitate towards.

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $74 for the March NouveauTique subscription box.  The pieces are unique and I appreciate the craftsmanship that went into working with the wire.  I like that the value was fairly evenly distributed among the items in the box and I think the packaging was lovely.  If you like the style of NouveauTique pieces, you are definitely getting a good deal with this subscription, since similar items would cost much more than $40 if purchased individually.

What do you think of NouveauTique monthly box?  Do you subscribe to any artisan or handmade jewelry boxes?

  1. I really like that is not really a subscription but just a monthly creation you buy if you like or not. And there are some absolutely gorgeous items in her Etsy shop!

I can’t wait to see what each month brings.

  2. Hi there, just a note that each month a new box is available for purchase. There are no automatic charges, fees or commitments. Purchase only the months you want. Or send a box as a gift!

    • Oh awesome! Thank you for letting me know.

  3. The packaging for the necklace is beautiful so it would be very giftable. However, I don’t think I would want to get a tree every single month. That would be a lot of trees by the end of the year. I might consider doing it if there were a quarterly box option. Thanks for the review. The pieces are lovely.
