  1. This is SO EXCITING.
I’m an avid book collector but focus on art/natural history so the book subs out there have always seemed like such a great idea but just not my thing since they all have such a fiction focus.
If Taschen or Rizzoli are involved this is money well spent.
This starts in June and my birthday happens to be in June so happy birthday to me.

    • I signed up for fiction, but that would be so cool if a Taschen book was in the art box!

  2. The Strand is my favorite bookstore. I miss it since I left NYC. Very excited that they are having a book sub, although $50 seems high. Maybe it’s geared toward collectors rather than just readers, since it’s a first-edition focus.

Anyway, to add my 2 cents to the vote, I’d like to see the fiction box reviewed. I’m on the fence due to the price. There are a bunch of fiction boxes out there, but only one other one that I know of that actually focuses on literary fiction rather than lighter novels. I don’t want romances and mysteries and beach reading, I want Nobel and Pulitzer Prize winners, and I think the Strand is the one to do it. (And Boxwalla, their upcoming book box looks promising …). Thanks!

  3. I signed up for the YA box. I mostly read on my kindle these days. I have two baby bunnies, though, and keep forgetting to buy books I can take outside with me while I let them play. This will be perfect!

  4. Understanding it as the subscriptions begin in June? Think this will be a good book box. The Strand is an awesome book store.

  5. I love going to the Strand! It’s an amazing bookstore. I might try the YA sub 🙂

  6. I work at a bookstore and Penquin and Random house are two of the biggest YA publishing groups so I’ve got a lot of faith in this one!

  7. I might get they YA one. I’ll have to wait & see what the first couple boxes are like. I really like that they offer the art/photography book option, too. I don’t think I’ve seen that with other book subs.

  8. I’d love to see a review for the Art/Photog box! That one sounds really interesting.
