Mishibox-April-2016-Info2

I like Mishibox's cute bunny logo. The info card is detailed and lists retail value on each. I did notice that some retail values are different from what's listed on Mishibox's online shop. English ingredient lists for all products are also available on the Mishibox website.

Mishibox-April-2016-1

It's Skin Todak Todak Pack 10ml - $2.99

These little cups are single-use masks or sleeping packs that have various benefits depending on which of the five types you receive: Elasticity, Nutrition, Pore, Moisture, or Vitality. The only problem is that I don't know which one I received! After looking it up on Mishibox's website I learned that this was the Moisture pack. There's a lot of product in here for a single-use item, so much that I have enough for a second or third use! It's a liquidy green consistency and just a thin layer was enough for my skin. My face felt soft and moisturized afterwards.

Skin Watchers Natural Yam Oil Blotting Papers - $2.99 (on sale for $2.49)

Skin Watchers is a cruelty-free brand! Their oil blotting papers are made of 100% natural hemp pulp and can be used on top of makeup. There are 50 sheets total.

Mishibox-April-2016-2

Skin Watchers Ceramizing Cream - $21.99

Ceramide is a molecule that has high water retention abilities and helps repair the skin barrier. The cream is oil free but hydrates and soothes your skin. I'm typically hesitant about thick creams because of my oily-prone skin, but this one is suitable for all skin types. I love how this one item is worth more than the box.

Mishibox-April-2016-3

Baviphat Magic Girls Moisturizing Makeup Base in Rosemary Green - $9.99

There were two shades, Rosemary Green and Lavender Purple. I received Rosemary Green, which contains rosemary and arnica flower extracts and helps correct skin tone for redness. Just a thin layer is enough. It doesn't feel tacky and creates an ok canvas for foundation or BB cream. I saw a slight improvement in skin tone with this makeup base on.

MCC Perfect Finish Pore Pact - $13.99

This is a new brand for me! It's a sebum-controlling face powder pact that absorbs oil and sebum while minimizing the appearance of pores. The powder contains peppermint, rosemary, argan oil, aloe vera, chamomile, and lavender, all great ingredients that provide benefits for your skin. It does a good job of mattifying skin and controlling oiliness when my face starts to look shiny in the afternoons.

Mishibox-April-2016-4

illi Mugwort Calming Mask in Calming - $2.99

This is a cotton sheet mask. Subscribers receive one of three types, and I got Calming. Calming is made with mugwort, chama mushroom, and ginseng and helps calm and moisturize the skin while improving skin vitality. The cotton mask is a bit thick so the fit is ok but doesn't perfectly adhere to my face. The scent is an herbally floral. This is a "hanbang" mask, which in Korean means oriental medicine, hence the unique fragrance and ingredients. The watery essence felt very soothing but also left my face a little sticky.

Verdict: My first Mishibox was so fun to open. I'm happy to discover a cruelty-free Korean brand in Skin Watchers and will definitely experiment with the Baviphat makeup base more. Best of all the ceramide cream cost more than the box alone. Total retail value this month is around $55. I'm looking forward to next month's box already!

I love Korean beauty products, and this box looks right up my alley. I’m mid-fifties, and have always been lucky to have great skin, but at my age, I really needed to start making an effort to keep it that way. (I have weird health issues that can affect my skin, too, so even more incentive to start working on it.) Have been using various Korean products and a multi-step routine for the past six months or so, and my good skin has looked (and *felt*) better than ever! So, I can’t wait for my first box to arrive — it will be fun to have new products to try. Thanks for doing the review of this box, I doubt I would have ever heard of it if not for this site.

The one thing that always cracks me up when I fill out forms for new beauty boxes is when they ask about hair type and hair colour. They never have an option for “none” (lol). I have hair loss due to the above-mentioned health nonsense, and I never have any use for all the various shampoos and hair conditioners and scrunchy-hair gel and sprays and so on. The cool thing about losing my hair has been that after years of having truly crap hair, I now can wake up, have a shower and do my face, and pop on some fab hair out of a box! Heh. I have blonde hair, brown hair, red hair, and even some pink or blue hair, depending on what I feel like that day. Someone needs to do a fun box for bald women, I surely can’t be the only one. 😉

I love Korean skincare and makeup. I lived in Korea for a year teaching English a long time ago. I fell in love then and when I was back in the U.S. I used to buy obscure, at the time, Korean beauty brands from international sellers on eBay. It was expensive, so I stopped.

I have been looking at the various Korean beauty boxes and have held off so far, because none of them had the right mix of products that made me coo. This box is awesome. Great value, good mix of products, finally some face makeup that I rarely see in this category of boxes, and not too many one use products. Thanks for reviewing this box and bringing it to my attention. This is the one!

Also I checked out their online store and they have a powder cleanser, like Tatcha rice enzyme cleanser or Amore ‘s version, which is on sale for around 11 dollars. The other products I mentioned cost 50-75 dollars. I love these cleansing powders/grains because they get rid of dead skin cells without being too harsh on my sensitive skin. This type of product I like to use before I put on a mask or serum because it allows the beneficial ingredients to penetrate my skin more effectively. So happy to have found Mishabox and their online store.

I love my Mishibox!!! I’ve been subscribed to them for 4 months now and every month the boxes are really great! I have sensitive/acne prone skin and I’ve never had any brakeouts using any of the Korean skin care products

I’m thinking of giving this one a try! I’ve always worried about the Korean boxes because I have super sensitive skin but it looks like I could use everything in this box and it’s great to know that I could look up the ingredients online for future boxes. Hmm…I just cancelled Glossybox so maybe it’s ok to add another?

This was my first Mishi Box also. I’m really enjoying the moisturizer and pore pact. I received the calming mask too and plan on giving it a try this weekend.

Fun box! I can’t wait to see what’s in store for May.

Great review Nancy.
