True Love by Thich Nhat Hanh – Value $7.33 (retail price: $11)

Hooray for true love!

mindfulness-box-apr-book-2

This book got 4.5 stars on Amazon and it really looks great. From Amazon:

Love might not be what we think it is. We all seek the happiness that comes from loving and being loved, yet we often find ourselves dissatisfied in our relationships and unable to grasp the cause. Thich Nhat Hanh here shows the way to overcome our recurrent obstacles to love-by learning to be mindful, open, and present with ourselves and others. As he explains, “training is needed in order to love properly; and to be able to give happiness and joy, you must practice deep looking directed toward the person you love. Because if you do not understand this person, you cannot love properly. Understanding is the essence of love.”

This quintessential guide to loving also introduces the four key aspects of love described in the Buddhist tradition-loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and freedom-and describes many simple and direct ways in which we can practice authentic love in our everyday lives.

Jade Bracelet by Mending Malas – Value $19.50

This bracelet is jade beads with little copper accent beads. So pretty! Jade is good for opening the heart chakra.

Lemongrass Tibetan Rope Incense – Value $1.10

Lemongrass is a calming and revitalizing fragrance. In incense form, though, I am not wild about the fragrance. I have a good friend who loves this type thing, though, so I will pass this along to her.

Mindfulness Box Sweet Dreams Detox Soak – Value $8

This soak has Dead Sea salt, lavender flowers, and all kind of essential oils to help you get soft skin and a good night’s sleep. I can’t wait to try it!

mindfulness-box-apr-cookie

Alternative Baking Company Chocolate Explosion Gluten-Free Cookie – Value $2.09

In addition to being gluten-free, this cookie is vegan and is made with premium all-natural ingredients. I swore off sugar recently, but one of the boys in my house will devour this instantly, I’m sure!

Verdict: I have been a big fan of Mindfulness Box for a while now, and I will use almost everything in this box. I can’t wait to read this book! The value of this month’s items is around $38, which is good for a $29 box. Another win from Mindfulness Box!
