Meowbox is a monthly subscription box for cats filled with fun, unique toys and natural, grain-free, organic, or locally-made treats.
My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)
The Subscription Box: Meowbox
They write your cats’ names on the lid. I love this little touch! (Also, as you can see, I had a “helper” for part of the unboxing…)
The Cost: $32.95 a month (save with longer subscription plans)
The Products: 5-7 toys and treats per month for your cat.
Good to know: Meowbox will substitute non-food items for cats with special dietary requirements. (There is a box to check during the signup process if you want to do this.) And for every Meowbox you buy, they give one can of food to a shelter cat!
Ships to: US (free shipping), Canada, and the UK (not sure of shipping costs for those last two)

The information card this month had a cute cartoon and a URL to find out more information about some of the products from the box. There was also an advertisement for Kuddly, an app that lets you connect with veterinarians. (Sorry, couldn’t test the app, don’t have a smartphone or tablet.)
Petstages Madcap Stand Up Mouse – Value $2.99
Monkey is a fan of this style of toy from this particular company. He licks and licks and licks until these are wet. So this was a hit.
Ruff & Whiskerz Wildlife Sackz – Value $5.25 (?)
I am not sure why these are called “Wildlife Sackz” but they were popular with the cats. I couldn’t find the same item online so I am basing the value here on similar items from Ruff & Whiskerz.
Omega Paw Meowjito with White Fish and Mint (3 oz) – Value $5.50
Someone knocked this box down off the shelf and chewed into this bag overnight so I guess these were popular…
Bewitched Cat Toys Yellow Pepper – Value $4.50
I kept calling this a banana but it is actually a yellow pepper. Catnip toys are always a good choice for a box like this.
Maui Meow! Catnip Carrot – Value $5.99
Sneaky had a ball with this, so it was a win. See below…
And now for the kitty pictures!
Madison never wants his photo taken. This turned out surprisingly well (and without laser eyes).
She did this all on her own. None of these photos are staged at all!
Sneaky and Madison trying out the treats. I love it when I catch them with their tongues out.
Monkey and Mr. Kitty were not very cooperative during this photo session. If you have cats, though, you know they can be moody. At least I have enough cats that I am guaranteed to get at least a few good pictures each time.
Verdict: I calculated a value of around $24.23 for the March Meowbox. This is quite a bit below the cost of a month-to-month subscription, but is what I have come to expect from Meowbox. If you can find a coupon code and you opt for a longer subscription, you can definitely break even if not come out a little ahead. It also helps if you have multiple cats so if one cat doesn’t care for an item, another cat might like it.
What did you think of the March 2016 Meowbox? Do you subscribe to any cat boxes?
