LuxePineapple-Post-April-2016-Info2

This month's box came with an info card, a welcome letter from the owner, Liz, and a coupon code for Rae Cosmetics.

The theme this month is "The Classics."

Contempo Jewelry Hand Wrapped Amazonite Copper Stud - $12

I love how simple but beautiful these earrings are! It's times like these that I'm envious of pierced ears. This may be an exclusive or upcoming item because I don't see it on the Contempo Jewelry website.

Rae Cosmetics Lush Silk Mascara - $18

Rae Cosmetics is a woman-owned beauty company based in Austin, Texas (same as LuxePineapple). Their products are cruelty-free and "designed for active women and athletes looking for performance as well as beauty from their cosmetics." The mascara contains silk powder and is infused with chamomile, juniper and vitamins A, C and E. I think the formula gives a natural look while feeling soft and comfortable on the lashes. That said it doesn't dry quickly, so you can't just put it on and start jogging on the treadmill. It does, however, do a good job of staying put while exercising.

Demeter Fragrance Library Jasmine Roll On Perfume Oil 0.29oz - $10.20

I have yet to smell a Demeter fragrance that I don't like. This is a roll-on perfume oil in Jasmine. It smells warm but delicate, never cloying. I like the fragrance a lot! The info card mentions this as "an exotic, sweet, warm floral bouquet." The scent didn't linger on my skin very long but I don't mind reapplying throughout the day. This rollerball is also super portable.

MOODmatcher Lipstick in Green - $4

To be honest I was freaked out by the color at first. The lipstick looked more like a toy and less like makeup. However, I'm glad I held off judgment until I tried it out. It feels like a lightweight lip balm. The green color turns into a very pretty and semi-opaque pink on my lips. I can also attest to the "12 hour lip color" claim on the lipstick-- it leaves a vibrant tint even after eating and drinking and remains for multiple hours. Between the long-lasting color and moisturizing properties, this will replace my Maybelline Baby Lips lip balm, effective immediately.

MOODmatcher Split Stick in Green/Orange - $6

Similar to the MOODmatcher green lipstick, this one has a green side and orange side. The green side turns into the same delicate pink hue, while the orange turns into a more peachy pink. You can also mix these colors together for a completely different color. I'll definitely get a lot of use out of both these lipsticks.

Swatch of MOODmatcher lipsticks. The top shade is Green and the bottom shade is Orange. The first photo is taken 5 minutes after applying to my arm, and the second photo is taken 9 hours later.

Lord & Berry Fluid Delicate - $30

This is a makeup remover, toner, and treatment for eyes and face. It's fragrance free, safe for contact lens wearers, and formulated for all skin types. I didn't know what "Fluid Delicate" meant, but upon using this it felt like micellar water. Sure enough, Lord & Berry's updated packaging lists this as micellar water. This does a good job of removing regular makeup, but you may want a heavier duty remover for waterproof eye makeup. My face feels a little tacky when it dries (although it's not exclusive to this micellar water) so I prefer to use it as a makeup remover and not a toner or treatment.

Verdict: I'm so impressed with this month's Luxe Pineapple Post. It's a great mix of beauty and wearables. My favorites are probably the MOODmatcher lipsticks-- it goes to show that you should never judge a book by its cover. I also really like the gentle Lord & Berry Fluid Delicate! Total retail value is $80.20, which I think is huge for a small beauty company to accomplish! I paid $20 for this box (with a prepaid 6-month plan) so that made me even happier.

A couple of things to point out if you want to subscribe: their new website is lacking some essential links such as how to easily login to your account. I received an email link to access my new account after I purchased the subscription. Customer service is awesome though so if you're having trouble be sure to contact them about it.

I LOVE Demeter. I’m surprised more sub boxes haven’t included them.

I can’t imagine ever wearing makeup while exercising…but then again, I exercise in the basement of my own home where no one will see me.

lol. I do wear either a BB cream, or whatever I wore for the day (as I work out in the evenings) in a busy gym. I am not vain, well maybe a little as I want to have something on. BB cream or a little bronzer and lip balm that has a small tint and I’m happy. I’m starting to run again (it has been over a year) and working up to 10 k (6.2 miles) and am a complete hot mess afterwards. I don’t sub to this box, but absolutely considering it after seeing what it included this month. Looks great!

Is this the same Luxe Pineapple that used to release a box monthly; but you could pick your own items?

Same company but different box! This is now a $24 recurring subscription called LuxePineapple Post 🙂 I don’t think we can pick items for this one.
