kidpik is a new seasonal clothing subscription for girls. You can either choose to receive a one time trial box, 1 box per season (4 per year) or 2 boxes per season (8 per year). All the pieces are really well-made, and the designs are unique to kidpik.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

kidpik is a new subscription box for girls, but the company itself has been around for decades. I think the easiest way to think of kidpik is that it is essentially Stitch Fix for girls. kidpik designs and produces all of its own apparel and accessories.

When you sign up, they ask for your girl’s name and use it to personalize the box for her. This box was styled for my 4 ½ year old daughter and I only provided her first initial “F” as her name. My daughter was especially excited this whole box was just for her!

profile1

When you first sign up, you fill out a style profile for your girl.

profile2

My daughter loves most colors so I selected most of these.

I was impressed how detailed this was.

kidpik gives you a number of clothing styles to choose from.

There are also athletic and modest options. They ask about how much sparkle your girl likes.

Ok, let’s see what we’ve got! (Note that my daughter is a girly girl. This box was styled based on our preferences so what you receive could be totally different.)

Looks interesting!

There are a few different bags.

surprise

Inside one of the bags was a gift of iron on patches that you can keep regardless of how many clothing items you decide on. Very thoughtful of kidpik. And sparkly. My daughter loves a good sparkle.

bag1

The next bag is reusable as a drawstring backpack.

sandal0

The bag contained the Clari Braided Sandal - Price $17.50 (Keep All Price $12.25)

sandal

Love these! Perfect for spring and summer. They are super cute, versatile, and comfortable. I like that the bottoms have some grip to them. Everything in this box is excellent quality.

On to the next bag.

bag2

Glitter Braided Headwrap - Price $1.50 (Keep All Price $1.05)

More sparkle. Versatile color. I like it!

Here is the information card that comes with the subscription box.

info1

The front is personalized with my daughter’s name again. Kids love to see their names on things.

info2

The inside gives information on how kidpik works and a breakdown of all the items in the subscription box.

Now let’s look at what was underneath those bags.

lace_cocoon

Lace Cocoon - Price $15.50 (Keep All Price $10.85)

This is not exactly a sweater and not exactly a wrap. I am not sure how to best describe this, but it adds an extra layer of warmth and style to my daughter’s outfits and she really likes it.

layering_tee

Layering Tee - Price $0.00 (Keep All Price $0.00)

I bet you are thinking what I was thinking. Huh? That price can’t be right. The information card had a note saying as a special thank you, kidpik included an extra item that we could keep absolutely free. Amazing!

sweet_crew

Sweet Crew – Price $16.50 (Keep All Price $11.55)

This shirt is made of that lightweight weave popular on shirts right now. Great for the weather warming up. It also has rhinestone and ribbon embellishments on it.  This shirt says RUUM on it which is made by the company behind kidpik.

skirt

Tulle Skirt – Price $19.50 (Keep All Price $13.65)

My daughter loves this skirt! It has 2 layers of tulle and a lining underneath.

floral_dress

Floral Princess Seam Dress – Price $12.50 (Keep All Price $8.75)

This is a fun dress to spin in! My daughter loves the flower pattern, too.

color

The kidpik box came with a coloring sheet.

Here she is coloring it wearing the Sweet Crew shirt.

Another part of the kidpik subscription box that I liked is their donation option.

donate

If you decide to keep the whole box, you get a 30% discount which is like getting 1 or 2 items for free. The kidpik box includes a pre-paid shipping bag and a give-back sticker.

donate0.5

We like to encourage our kids to give back whenever possible and, so far, they always love to do this.

donate1

My daughter wrote her name and the clothing size on the sticker.

donate2

We chose to donate the Layering Tee we had received as an additional thank you from kidpik. Pay it forward.

donate3

Ok, now for some pictures of the outfits on!

I love that everything in the box was a cohesive collection that works well together as mix-and-match pieces. So versatile!

Value: The grand total price for all the items in the box is $90.16 if we purchase everything separately. Considering the quality of the items, the fact that the styling service, shipping to us and any return shipping is thrown in, the time I saved not having to go out looking for these items, not to mention the free gift and extra item, I think that is a more than fair price.

If, for some reason, you don’t like the subscription box, you have one week to return it and pay nothing. Amazing.

Plus, if you keep the whole box, which we will probably always do especially since everything works so well together, you get the 30% discount so the price would be $63.11 total. I call that a deal!

Verdict: We love kidpik so far and are very excited to see what they send next! The quality is great and my daughter loves wearing her new clothes. If you are on the fence about trying this one, give it shot.

I was wondering how long it took to arrive? I just ordered one today.

I have liked the service up until now. I an having a horrible customer service experience (If I do receive a box — they sent mine to the wrong address after I changed my address on their site a month and a half in advance. I was also told that if its stolen from the wrong address I will still be charged and have to personally request a charge back from my CC company.) It will be my last. Customer service builds a company in my opinion and their’s has ruined it for me.

Ordered from Kidpik basics. Horrible customer service. Had to contact them 3 times due to credit card charge error. And it is still not corrected. First 2 times I contacted them, they couldn’t find my order- even though I was reading straight from the confirmation email. I also had one rep who seemed to get lost in the conversation and asked why I called again after 1 minute. The skirts are cut funny, nothing like the ones from their former company Ruum. I will not order from Kidpik again.

I have had a negative experience also. The items I received were way off mark from style profile. The material felt really cheap too. Like, pill and snag on the first day cheap. Surprisingly, my daughter was happy with a few of the things. The clothes were HUGE though, so I looked up exchanges, and the website says they “understand” if the customer needs a different size and to call customer service. When I called, the representative was talking, blanked out for literally a minute, kept saying “um, um” and “what was your question?” Then she told me that they don’t exchange sizes, because they’re hand-picked. That I had to return the whole box, change the size on my daughter’s profile, change the frequency from trial to recurring, and that the proper size would be sent going forward. What the..? So, even though I’ve had zero satisfaction from the company thus far, I am just supposed to continue to get boxes based on a poor business model? No thanks! I’ll look elsewhere.

Subscribed to 2boxes/season for two girls. One came in may. I asked about the second girl’s box, I was told it’d ship in two weeks. That was over a month ago. Today I was told tow weeks was “just an estimate” and yehy have no control over when boxes ship. Needless to say, we cancelled. Two girls, three boxes, horrible customer service.

We’ve had a really negative experience thus far. disorganized return/exchange process. We were overcharged for a box send back the day after receiving, customer service said “we just got it yesterday” (not true, it went in the mail weeks ago) and gave me a hard about requesting a correction, even though my account clearly shows that they have the returned items and the cost of the two pieces we did keep.
Style problems; ugly Logo t’s from Ruum (they went belly up two years ago!)… Items don’t mix and match…
Seems like they favored the bloggers/vloggers/reviewers with some amazing boxes but between the less than outstanding curation and now getting the runaround regarding the overcharge I’m out for future orders. Sorry to be the negative nelly but beware ladies.

Just wanted to update… The mis charge was corrected. I went ahead and kept our account active to see what fall would bring and my daughter’s back-to-school box hit it out of the park. We also subscribe to kidbox and I feel like, this time around, kidpik gave us those on-trend completer pieces (what five year old girl doesn’t need black glitter booties for fall 2016?!?!) and kidbox provided the workhorses. Between the two subs I’ll only need to buy tights, undies and a coat and I can skip the agony that is Justice altogether.

I signed up for a subscription, and just received the first box for my five year old daughter two days ago. I was VERY pleased with this service! All of the pieces were very affordable, good quality, unique, and stylish! I would definitely recommend Kidpik.

Oh my gosh, what a cutie! I would have LOVED getting this as a kid. It seems very reasonably priced. The 30% discount is awesome. I could see this being awesome for kids who hate to go shopping or try on clothes in the store.

Yes, my daughter loved everything in this box! They did a very good job of figuring out her style based on the profile questions. The price is great and convenience is one of my favorite things about subscription boxes!

Agreed that your daughter is adorable! I may have to try this for my 5-year-old… She would definitely fit in the ‘girly glam” category!
