The packaging is beautiful, and each item comes individually wrapped in brown paper.

Hatchery includes a fold-out card with each box that provides information about each product and its maker.
The card also includes pricing information, serving suggestions, and product qualities.
For every product, Hatchery also provides a “chef-inspired recipe using this sample.”
Formosa's Jalapeno Hot Sauce (1.7 oz.)- $2.38
This hot sauce has a creamy base, which is something you don’t see very often. It’s made from tomatillos and has a subtle heat that comes from the addition of sweet jalapeño peppers. I added some of this hot sauce to an egg white breakfast burrito, and I was really impressed with the flavor.
Sir Kensington's Special Sauce (1.5 oz)- $1.20
I’ve sampled a few of Sir Kensington’s products before thanks to subscription boxes, and I’m a big fan of their ketchups and sauces. Unlike super sweet fast food “secret sauces,” Sir Kensington’s Special Sauce is “reminiscent of a remoulade, but with a tangy kick from lemon juice and mustard flour; not to mention a little relish crunch!”
Christabelle's Spices' Bombay Bliss- $3?
There’s no weight listed on this container, so I’ve estimated the size and value. (Looking at other spice jars in my pantry, I’m estimating that this jar holds .5 oz. of spices. That might be a little generous, though.) This salt-free spice blend is “simultaneously smoky, sweet, and savory, resulting in a blend that works with nearly everything it touches.” I haven’t had a chance to try it yet, but I’m tempted to try making Chicken Coconut Curry, Hatchery’s recommended recipe for this product.
Homeplate Peanut Butter's Honey Peanut Butter (1.15 oz.)- $0.36
The flavor and texture of this peanut butter reminds me of the sweet and creamy peanut butters I ate as a child, but I’m so pleased to see that Homeplate crafts their nut butters with only simple and natural ingredients. (This one is made with only peanuts, cane sugar, palm fruit oil, and honey!)
Taste Elevated's Sweet & Tangy Mustard Seeds (1 oz.)- $.88
This is such an interesting product! Mustard seeds are mixed with distilled vinegar, white sugar, and garlic powder to produce a sweet, tangy, and unusual condiment.
It can be used as a substitute for traditional mustard, and Hatchery has included a recipe for Beer-Braised Kielbasa with Sweet & Tangy Mustard Slaw.

It looks fantastic! I’ve never seen marinated mustard seeds used in place of mustard, but I absolutely love the idea!
Verdict: I think Hatchery is a great way to discover and sample new condiments and ingredients from small American producers, and I absolutely love that they come up with a recipe for every item they send. The packaging is beautiful, and I really like the products that were included in this box. Unfortunately, though, this is not a high value box. The total estimated value of the items I received comes in at just under $8, which is very low considering the $25 cost of the box. I hope to see the value improve in future boxes.
