Gorilla Gamer Crate is a subscription box for gamers! Their website calls it a “monthly, mystery, console specific crate focused 100% on video gamers.” My sons are complete video game addicts, so they were thrilled to hear about this box!

My Subscription Addiction paid for this box. (Check out our review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

We received this same welcome card last month – I wonder if they send it every month?

We also received this coupon for 10% off at Condemned Customs. They repaint and customize system parts!

Gorilla Gamer Custom Tee – Value $10?

This is the t-shirt that was included this month. My ten-year-old likes it, and it will make a good bedtime tee since it is a little big on him.

The Walking Dead Season Two Game – Value $24.68

Wow, we actually received a video game! Cool! I somehow didn’t expect that. Plus it got 4.5 stars on Amazon! Unfortunately it’s rated M for Mature, and my boys are nowhere near mature. I may have to play this myself to see why it got the M rating. It’s strictly a parenting thing, I assure you.

Fear the Living Custom Bag – Value $10?

Even though they’re still a little young to be into zombies, the boys both really liked this bag. It will be good to keep their video game swag in.

gorilla-gamer-apr-snacks

Krave Beef Jerky Chili Lime 1.5 oz – Value $3.25

Honey Stinger Energy Gel – Value $1.11

As a gamer, I think it’s very fun that they included snacks. As a mother, I’m thinking the last thing you should do while sitting down playing video games is mindless snacking! At least they included relatively healthy snacks.

Rubber Bracelet – Value $1?

This bracelet looks totally black until you look very closely…

It’s pretty cool!

Verdict: If my sons were a little older, this would have been an amazing box for them. As it stands, it’s still a really good box, and depending on the nature of the M rating they may get to play the game in the not-too-distant future. The value of the items totals about $50, which is a little higher than the cost of the box, so I’m happy.

  1. Hi Anna! I work at GameStop, and the reason the game is rated M is probably because of violence and language (I haven’t played this one myself yet!). It is based on the Walking Dead comic series (rather than the show), so it is a zombie horror/interactive story game. Telltale Studios make amazing story games, but they may be a little too mature for your boys! Maybe you can request games a little less intense for their age? I hope this helps a bit!

    • Thanks so much, Kay! That is super helpful. We love GameStop!
