GOLDEN TOTE $49 TOTE APRIL 2016 - info

Each tote comes with a styling suggestion/info card for the item you picked that month.

GOLDEN TOTE $49 TOTE APRIL 2016 - items 1

In Full Swing Tank, Navy – value: $40

(95% rayon, 5% spandex; dry clean only)

This was my pick for this $49 tote, and I am so happy with it! It is very flattering, comfortable, and easy to wear! I love that it’s sleeveless without having weirdly-cut shoulders so I can wear a normal bra. I’m obsessed! The “dry clean only” bums me out a bit, but I’ll probably be able to get away with hand washing gently, or just spot treating it unless it gets really bad.

Jolie Striped Shirt – value: $40?

(61% rayon, 35% polyester, 4% spandex; hand was cold, hang dry)

This month is the first month that I made a style collage to upload to my Golden Tote style profile, and this top was one of the tops I threw in the collage (I used a photo from the GT Instagram feed). I’m happy with it! It’s a great material – the white isn’t see through, and it’s very soft and comfortable.

Verdict: What a great $49 Golden Tote for me! I am obsessed with the swing tank and I like the Jolie shirt. $25 each is a great price for the value, I think!

You can probably still wash the dry clean only top on gentle. I do that with most of my rayon tops and haven’t had an issue.

Did you not get any surprise items, just the two shirts you picked out? Other than the free tote, how is this different from any other kind of internet shopping for clothes?

Hi, Rebecca! Sorry if I was unclear – first of all, Golden Tote is different than regular online shopping because you pick an item or two (depending on what totes you order) and they surprise you with the rest. This is the small tote, which is $49. I chose the first top, the tank, and they surprised me with the striped top. However, there is a place in your style profile where you can add a photo to help your stylist understand your style. I made a collage, and one of the pictures I used was the striped top. So while I didn’t “pick it” my stylist did pull it from the collage I made.

Also, as Alli pointed out, Golden Tote isn’t a traditional subscription. They release a collection every month and you decide if you want to order. There’s no commitment and no canceling. They show you the chosen items, which you pick between, and they suprise you with the rest of the items in the tote. I also review the $149 tote which has 2 picked items and 4 surprises so keep an eye out for that review to come, too!

There’s also an option for a $99 surprise tote which is all surprise items based off your style profile and you don’t pick any items for that.

Hope that helps!

She didn’t pick out the striped shirt, she added it to her “style collage” for inspo for her curator, so it was a guided surprise 😛

I do realize that you are obligated $49/month unless you cancel – but that isn’t a plus to me for picking out tops that I think are a good buy.

It’s not a traditional subscription service. Each purchase is a one off. If you buy the mini tote, you choose one item and then a stylist picks a surprise item based on your style profile. I picked a surprise tote this month so I got 4 random items – except there’s a place in your profile where you can make requests and I got 2 items I requested. It’s fun if you want a complete strangers to help guide your wardrobe. I’ve had good luck so far.

Might want to remove your address from the first pic – smaller label has it on it still.

I love these. You look great!! GT is one of my favorite subscription services. I caved and ordered a mid month tote because some of the options were just too cute.
