Chococurb is an artisan chocolate box.  They have two subscription 'sizes' so to speak: their mini, which is what I am reviewing today, and their regular subscription.  Their mini box is new, and they promise three chocolate products per month.  They also have a shop, so you can repurchase the chocolates that you love!

My box was shipped this month with a metallic bubble pack and the teeniest little ice pack ever (about the size of a package of saltine crackers you get with your soup at a restaurant!) to ensure the chocolate didn't melt.  It was successful (it's already been in the 90s here) and I'm so happy everything came intact!

C4

Michel Cluziel - Dark Chocolate with Orange Peels - $9.99

I wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did.  The orange inclusion is quite good, the chocolate isn't bitter in the least, and it's so smooth.  I was expecting a more fakey orange taste, which I obviously shouldn't have expected from a bar Chococurb would send out.  It was top notch and delicious.

C5

Cabruca Chocolates - Rapadura and Hazelnuts - $7.00?

I cannot find this specific bar on Chococurb's website, nor on the manufacturers website.  I have linked to the company above - it looks like they have some interesting offerings, and they have their own chocolate club, which sounds like heaven.  This specific chocolate bar has rapadura sugar, along with whole hazelnuts.  It's quite good, and the packaging is pretty too!

C6

Taza Chocolate - Salted Almond Chocolate Mexicano Disc - $5.00

By this point in our relationship, you all know that I have a penchant for the dramatic at times.  Believe me when I say, this is not that time and you need to try this chocolate.  It is, by far, my favorite in the box, and perhaps the best chocolate I've ever tasted.  The texture of it is very interesting, and different from any other chocolate I've had.  The flavor is also outstanding.  Do yourself a favor, and buy yourself one of these.  The almonds inside are not whole almonds, in fact, I don't even see almond pieces in it, so it might be ground almonds that are included.

Verdict:  Due to the fact that I couldn't find the particular Cabruca Chocolates bar that I received online, my value of this box is going to be a bit of an estimate.  What I came up with was about $22.00.  Some of you will say $20.00 is a lot to spend on a candy bar - and if you're not in to artisanal chocolate, yes it is.  If you are in to artisanal chocolate though, $20.00 to get three bars, plus introduced to new companies is quite the deal.  Plus, you don't even have to go out of your house to get it.  These three bars will last me about a month with how much chocolate I eat at a time, so I think that this is absolutely worth the money.  With Mother's Day coming up - if you have a chocoholic Mom, Grandmother, or friend that you would like to gift something to - give Chococurb a try!

Have you tried Chococurb yet?

Bekki first discovered subscription boxes in 2014 and they quickly took over her life! (Not quite, but pretty close.) She started with POPSUGAR Must Have, then moved to Little Lace Box, Birchbox, Hamptons Lane...the rest was history. Her favorite product find is Beekman 1802 Fudge (so, so good) and her favorite boxes are Birchbox and Hamptons Lane...but she's always looking for a new subscription to try!

I went to their website to check it out and they have a great shop with tons of treats and free shipping at $35. I really shouldn’t sign up for another sub, but I did just pick out 7 amazing looking chocolate bars for $39. I figure its about the same price as the sub, I get exactly the ones I want and I’m not committed to every month. (That’s not saying I won’t do the same thing again next month!)

That’s a really good idea. I wish the Cabruca item was sold on the website. I wonder if they will add it shortly since it is in this box.

Are there ever any coupons or promotions for this sub? Would love to give it a try or send this to my parents.

TAZA chocolate is amazing! I love it. There is a TAZA chocolate factory in Boston, if you are ever in the area I highly recommend it! They have a lot of great products besides the discs (and free samples!) although I do enjoy the discs the most and I’m not even a huge chocolate fan.

Hi-
Just wondering if anyone has gotten any chocolate truffles or filled confections in any of the sub boxes. I tend to see mostly bars in the boxes, but I may have missed something.

I am an artisan chocolatier (and serious sub box addict) and I’ve been toying with the idea of having my pieces in a box. I do hand painted truffles and confections, so trying to find the right fit and thought you would all be the best people to ask ?

I contacted Treatsie 3 times, with no response, which is a bummer. Thank you in advance for any input, I appreciate it.

Yes, I received truffles in my last mini box.

These look amazing! It looks like they are currently out of stock in your store. Will you be restocking soon for individual purchases?

Anya

I haven’t but would love to!

I need this in my life! I definitely graze sparingly on chocolate, so a large bar will last several weeks. Three per month is totally doable on my nutrition plan too.

I much prefer milk chocolate and I’m sick of the whole salted almond salted caramel thing. It’s not everyone’s taste. The whole dark chocolate is healthier thing is starting to really annoy me too. If I want healthy I’ll have a salad. After looking at the reviews they should call this what it is a dark chocolate box. If anyone from Chococurb is reading this please consider offering a choice of boxes, milk, dark or mixed. It would be so nice to get a monthly box of chocolate that I would actually want to eat.

Oh rats. This was an easy pass since I also do not care for dark chocolate. But if I can get a box of high-end milk chocolate every month?! Oh, man. I may need this.

Cindy

That is good to know because I only like dark chocolate.

Jordan

Oh my gosh-just got a Taza for my birthday (chile flavor) and now I CANNOT wait to dig in! Sounds like it could become habit forming!

Bekki

I am jealous after reading this review! Jealous over your warm weather and the yummy chocolates. It was in the 40s yesterday and I had a rough week. I need these chocolates! 😉

I got one of those Taza rounds in a Yogi Surprise jewelry box last year. I ate the whole thing at once. It was delicious although I didn’t feel very good afterwards…

Taza is my FAVORITE. It is sold at a couple local shops here in Northeast Ohio and I am absolutely obsessed. The texture and flavor is to die for.

Melissa B

I usually only like milk chocolate so I dont know if I would like these but this looks like a great subscription.

Every box we create is different and is catered toward the subscriber. We don’t only include Dark chocolate, it really all depends on your profile preferences.

We have a great deal of Milk and White Chocolate Bars / Confections.
