Bumby Box is a monthly children’s toy subscription box that focuses on curating boxes to reflect and promote your baby’s new interests and developmental milestones. They also only feature items from environmentally friendly companies!

Good to know: you can pick between a monthly or quarterly shipment.

BUMBY BOX APRIL 2016 - packaging

I love how they put this on their site: “we care about connecting families and believe that play should transcend all boundaries.” I read somewhere that babies’ and children’s job/”work” is to play! It’s everything to them at this stage.

They offer boxes for ages newborn to 5 years old. You get to select your child’s age group and customize your profile according to your child’s information at sign-up.

BUMBY BOX APRIL 2016 - info 1

Each box comes with a folded info card that talks about play activities appropriate to your child’s development and the items featured in that month’s box.

BUMBY BOX APRIL 2016 - info 2

On the inside they talked about current developmental milestones (like being old enough to introduce solids) and things to do to help promote their development, like singing!

BUMBY BOX APRIL 2016 - info 3

And on the back they listed all the items they sent me and talked about why my son will like playing with them at this stage!

BUMBY BOX APRIL 2016 - items 1

Under the Nile Organic Veggies – value: $9 each, $27 total

These are so cute! I love them. They are really soft and my son likes playing with them – and the tags, haha.

BUMBY BOX APRIL 2016 - items 2

Lamaze Soft Snail Wrist Rattles – value: $7.99

These are “wrist rattles,” but they work in any way, really. I’ve even got one looped onto a plastic link in his stroller seat. They’re cute, and he likes to chew on them.

Baby Be Kind Book - value: $4.84 (retail price: $5.99)

This book is sweet – it’s all about little ways you can be kind every day (sharing, playing nice, etc).

BUMBY BOX APRIL 2016 - items 3

Plan Toys Owl Sorter – value: $20.80

I’m thrilled to see this item in my box! It’s an upright, wooden owl shape sorter. I think it’s a very nice toy, and the quality is excellent. My son doesn’t quite get the sorting part yet, but he’s fascinated when I do it, and he likes playing with the shapes and owl anyway.

Here’s a look at it out of the box.

BUMBY BOX APRIL 2016 - items 5

And here is photo of my son, Gideon, playing with some of the toys! I mostly just want to show him off! Haha.

Verdict: I’m really happy with my first Bumby Box! I had so much fun opening it up. The quality of the toys they sent me is great, and I love the items they picked. The value of my items comes out to $60.63 – about $10 over the subscription cost. I would have liked to see a little more value but even so I’m not disappointed because the items were all a home-run for me

Brittany

Not related to the box, but how do you think the amber necklace works? I’m debating getting one for my little drool bug 🙂

Hi, Brittany! He has had it since about 3 months old. And he hasn’t been cutting teeth this whole time so I can’t exactly speak to what he is like without it and teething. However I definitely noticed a big change in the amount that he drooled within a day or two of him wearing it. Even back when he was just three months. Right now he’s cutting his first tooth and he seems pretty normal as far as his behavior goes, maybe just a little extra clingy. But he is also going through a mental development leap so that might be causing some clinginess, too. I know that from following the Wonder weeks app, which is great. I can’t swear by the necklace, but they aren’t crazy expensive so I think there at least worth a try if you’re curious. =]

He is just adorable. I am like Stephanie with grown children and don’t see the grand kids often enough so I live vicariously through bloggers children. Feel free to show him again sometime.

Those blue eyes! Oh my, he is a cutie bootie! I don’t have any babies (they are adults), but I read this review hoping to see your handsome little Gideon!
