  1. Hi, Rebecca. I actually lol at the “get off my lawn” post. Thank you for the laugh this morning. I need those when I can get them.

    I really love this site, and the people posting seem sooooo nice. It’s become one of my favorite sites to visit. I never thought I would become a sub addict, but here I am, one of the worst.

    At this point, I’m not sure who I responded to. I guess I appreciate anyone who bothers to read my cranky old posts. LOL

  2. I got the email about the presale but decided to skip and take my chances. Those boxes are flippin’ huge and last forever; we’re still using stuff from the one box purchased last year. I could see if you had a bunch of kids or people to share it with, but… otherwise, it’s too much stuff. I’m going to just wait and see if I want each individual box and if I miss out, oh well. πŸ˜€

  3. Does anyone remember if you could purchase more than one box when it goes on sale regularlly? I would love to get one of these for my mom and sister for Mother’s Day. Thank you in advance for any information.

    • I recall only having the option to place an order for one.

      Maybe someone who ordered more than one remembers – Did you need to have another email address to purchase more than one box?

    • Yes,I got gifts for family last year, but i used their addresses and e-mails, for ordering. For some reason, only one per address. So if you get presale your info is already logged. Good luck, it worked for me last year, but you know how rules change.

  5. I heard about this box & pre-sell too late last year to get in on it. I was sure I’d be all in for this year’s pre-sale but I decided not to.

    Had pretty good success last year in getting all three boxes when they went on sale, so I’m willing to chance that my luck will hold. It would also be nice to see some spoilers. I’m sure they’ll all be a really great deal, but its nice to know what you’re getting so you can see how much you’re saving!

    • I’m with you on this one. I’ve never bought one in the past after careful consideration, but because it is a decent amount to spend (even if it’s an awesome value), I like to make sure there’s enough stuff that I want to make it a good enough value for me to bite πŸ™‚

  6. I had originally decided to not do the presale but then succumbed to FOMO!! I justified it by the fact that I don’t remember hearing about these boxes last year. I remember seeing them in my magazine but by the time I would see it and then look it up they were gone. So this way, I have them! I will probably be cancelling FabFitFun to justify this though!

  7. Just a heads up, if anything arrives damaged, it’s nearly impossible to get it fixed/replaced. I spent nearly 5 weeks (out of principle) and about 7 emails (getting shuffled around) to get something repetitive (and not worth the cost of shipping) because item was out of stock). it was such a frustrating experience. and yes, I used the customer service email address. But it’s so generic, they kept saying someone would get back to me and no one did. until I would start a new attempt….

    • Mine was missing three items, and I emailed and called several times mainly from the principle of the thing also, and finally just gave up after a month. It left a sour taste for this box. Never again.

  8. Those of you who preordered — did you get an email confirmation? I’m still waiting on one.

    I know I should feel at least moderately foolish for paying extra for the privilege of buying all three boxes at once, but I’m actually relieved that I won’t have to worry about missing it. The last Beauty Thrills box was chock full of great products my whole family has used. Next to the 2015 holiday Glossybox, it’s been my favorite purchase.

    • I got one immediately.

    • Don’t feel foolish, I also paid for the subscription as I did last year and I am glad to not have to chance missing the boxes. I did get a confirmation email about an hour after I paid for my subscription.

  9. I remember them showing full spoilers in previous years when this was offered. I did get this last year and it came to $212-$216? And just a heads up based on my experience last year– the charge on my CC statement was some “company” that I had never heard of and I just didn’t make the connection to Allure– called the tel# on my statement and it was something about PayPal which further mystified me. Spent a lot of time with my CC co trying to figure it all out and was going to dispute it. A couple of days later it hit me that it was the Allure boxes and immediately called Discover to cancel the dispute. But they (Allure) may have changed their system from last year.

    • I think the company was Allied Printing. I was a little behind in updating my Quicken so I didn’t notice it until months later. I Googled the company and there was no way I had done an order with them. I called the next day after they opened and they were super sweet about helping me figure out the “order.” I felt silly after I found out what it really was. Apparently they do fulfillment for the boxes (not sure if it will be the same company this time though).

      And I did pre-order. I passed on Sephora after I got off the waitlist. I just have too many small samples in my stash (see how I’m justifying this? This box will have full size things that I will take forever to get around to using up…but that’s my justification….not samples, full size….LOL)

  10. I went ahead and did the pre-sale!
    I have not previously gotten one of these boxes, but looking at the reviews they look like a lot of things I would definitely use and normally spend way more for if bought individually in store.
    I did wait at least a few hours after seeing it went live to do so though, I kept trying to talk myself out of it and just wait for the box to come out and try to purchase just one to see how I liked it, but knew if it sold out on me it would drive me crazy until the next one came out.
    At least now I don’t have to worry about waiting for the individual boxes to go on sale unless I see spoilers and want to buy an additional one for gifting/donating.

  12. Happily did the presell. If I did not up at 5am pst everyday, I would miss the Target boxes. By 9am pst I am usually knee deep in meetings. It was worth it for me so I would not miss them. Plus, I share the products with family and friends. Makes me happy. ☺

  13. I’d do the pre-order and pay the premium if I didn’t have to pay all at once. Psychologically, I just can’t do $200 (or rather $220 when you include the tax).

    I did buy each box last year. They worked OK for my family of four. I got introduced to a bunch of a new-for-me products that I really liked (but that I’m still using, full sizes take a long time to go through) and I was able to swap most of what I didn’t need or give it away. I will probably buy this box as well – but I do like seeing the preview.

  14. I happily did the pre-sale, the extra 20 bucks is worth it to me in terms of my time spent trying to get three boxes at release time. Now I just have to sit back and wait…the hardest part!

    • Me too! After a few hours of internal struggle, I decided to pull the trigger and I’m feeling good about it. These boxes keep me from having to buy basic (and even not-so-basic) toiletry and personal care items, plus it’s really fun to donate and share!

  15. I enjoy these boxes and find the items useful and always worth the value (for me). What I dont use I share with family and friends so win, win and I dont have to go buy any of it. Ive never missed out and always get one but this just made it easy. Call me lazy!!! Lol

  16. There was no way I could buy all three boxes at once, which kind of bums me out because I couldn’t get through for the last single box. Here’s hoping my luck will be better this time.

I’d be up for paying more to pre-order IF it was only for a single box AND there were spoilers, but being committed to 3 boxes without knowing what’s in them is too much of a risk at $200, particularly with how much overlap there was in products in the last few boxes and the fact that I haven’t had any trouble getting one in the past. It is interesting to see them capitalize on FOMO. Hahahaha.

  19. I’m really happy for those who decided to do this; I hope it works for them. It’s just me and hubby, and truthfully we’d never go through even one of these boxes, let alone three. So to pay extra to lock in three just doesn’t make sense for me.

  20. Hey everyone! I was not happy with the premium attached to this order, but I caved and purchased it.

    For those who did purchase it, did you guys notice the 12$ fee added to the order for digital access? I did not add that to my order and emailed them about the digital access?

    • How did you contact them about that $12 fee? I sure don’t want to pay that! I never can contact them!

      • On the order confirmation page, I saw that there was an email link, it opened up a new draft for email and sent them my question with my email on the subject line. IT was odd that there was no order number for me, just the order summary.

        • I was worried because mine was like that also.. I called but hey said they wouldn’t be a le to access it for 24 hours. I told them that mine didn’t even have tax addedin and I know I paid tax last year. Did you get to the site by an email sent to you? However, I never saw any of that about the extra digital fee. I’m so worried!

          • I got a email saying :

            I am certain I followed the email instructions… I have contacted the email link to compose email and I have emailed allure beauty directly. I think k I will try to give them a call tomorrow to see. Please keep me updated as well

    • I did not have a digital access charge. I have taxes on top of the $199.95 charge. Is the $12 fee for taxes?

    • I paid an additional $12.62 but it was clearly marked as tax, nothing about a digital access fee.

        • that sounds like you also signed up for the monthly Allure subscription box. At the bottom of the order confirmation page there was a link to subscribe.

          • I made sure that I did not click for the allure beauty box. =T sigh, still no response after emailing both allure beauty and the email with the digital subscription.l I will keep everyone updated.

          Tax will be charged if applicable
          So I think you signed up for the wrong box.

    • i was charged taxes, but no fee.

  21. Well, I wasnt paying attention ( working) and thought this was for the single box. I was sooo excited and then realized that it was only for all 3. I called the customer service number right away ( in the middle of an anxiety attack) and explained. The CS rep was very nice, but they have no protocol on what to do with my situation, after holding a while, the CS took my info and said they will TRY to stop the charge. It went through my bank, but I’m hoping they reverse it soon. I wouldn’t mind so much if payments were in instalments, but 200.00 all at once…..can’t do it.
    Single boxes are on sale the 27th. My error and my stupidity.

  22. I usually wouldn’t spend the extra money but I drive myself so crazy to make sure im online at the right time and set 10 reminders….Sometimes a little extra money is worth the peace of mind

  23. I’m torn. I haven’t had any issues getting a box when I wanted one, but it would be nice to just have it locked in and move on with my life. Hmmmm….

  24. For those questioning whether to do the presale or not, I did it two years ago, but I skipped it last year. I’ll be skipping it again this year.

    I had no issues purchasing any of 2015’s three boxes so it was worthwhile to save the money for me. I’d recommend the presale only to those who really want the boxes and find that they’re usually not able to purchase right when they go live. If you figure you or a friend can be available to purchase right at launch, you shouldn’t have any problems.

    For me, the only benefit was that I got the box a few days before everyone else when I preordered, but that wasn’t worth the extra $20.

  25. Am I reading this correctly – $199 for 3 boxes that cost only $49.95 each if ordered separately? No thank you – no bueno Allure πŸ™

    • Amy it is $199.95 + tax to preorder all 3 boxes.
      It works out to be $66.65 + tax per box to preorder.
      If you order when the boxes go on sale it is $59.95 ($49.95 plus $10 shipping) + tax.
      It ends up being $6.70 extra per box to preorder.
      Hope that clarifies it a little bit.

    • They cost $60 each, once you add the shipping. So it’s basically paying $20 extra and paying it all at once to not have to order each box separately. Also, individual boxes may go up in price. I think last year they started at $55 and ended at $60.

It seems they always go on sale on a day when I am crazy busy or away from my phone.(which is not often !) anyway I am glad to pay the extra so I don’t have to worry about grabbing a box in a rush and then being disappointed when I don’t get one !     • You had to put your email on the site before hand and then they sent you an email to order it via pre sale .

  28. I’m excited. I did the presale this time. I missed out on the December one and wished I would have gotten it! Now it will be a nice surprise when it comes. Although I already have like 6 subs currently going….:-) I just can’t help it lol.

  29. If you get the presale. Yes, you can order the individual boxes, but you have to use different adresses and e-mails. At least that’s what happened last year, so you can give gifts. I had no problem, but you never know if things change. Good luck eveyone!

  33. it’s way too much overlap of items (I mean, maybe for a family, but how many times do I need repeated giant drug store shampoo/conditioners, liquid body wash, etc). and pay an additional $20 to be locked in on the repeats. No thank you. Product overload on cheap items.

    • Yes, I guess the benefit is you know you’ll get all three without waiting for the mad scramble when the actual individual sales open. I’m opting to take my chances with each one and save the $

    • That’s correct – there is a $20 additional fee for being able to reserve all boxes at once. Hope that makes sense.

      • No, just no. I was willing to pre-pay, but I’m not about to pay more for having the luxury of giving them my money all at once. I’ll take my chance buying one at a time. If I miss it, then so be it. I can live with it.

        I’m sorry, but that’s got to be the greediest thing I’ve ever seen, IMHO.

        • Someone mentioned in a later comment that the price went up from $55 to $60 (after S+H) last year, so you are paying $20 to reserve it *if* the price doesn’t change.

          I still don’t want to lock myself into it, though, especially if I don’t have any spoilers for any of the boxes, let alone one. I’ll take my chances and accept the possibility of missing out. I only knew about the last box and passed on it, so there’s a chance it may not be for me anyway.

    • Think it comes to almost $20 more for pre sale. I bought all 3 individually last year with no problem.

      • Well, I just remember a year or so ago I had so much stress and the system kept crashing that I didn’t want to be freaking out on buying day! Probably wasteful but I think if I am not thrilled with the boxes this year I will not do this anymore. Will give it one more time! I did love some of the full-size face items and felt it was worth it just for those!

          I’ve just never seen a company charge extra when a customer pre-pays. It’s a huge win for the company when a customer gives them their money early, and for them to charge extra is absurd. Most companies give a discount.

          This kind of thing is a huge turnoff for me. i’m re-thinking my allure beauty box at this point. As many boxes as I’m subscribed with, I doubt I would miss one. Very disappointed in Allure.

          Or maybe I’m too old and crotchety. Heh.

          • I agree. Usually there is a discount to pre-pay. Not going to do it.

          • I completely agree. They should give a discount on pre-sale – not upcharge you. I’m not doing it.

          • I guess when you have an item that almost always sells out there is no need to give a discount. Discounts are to encourage people to buy something. With the Allure Beauty Thrills boxes no encouragement is necessary. So many people get shut out and miss the boxes that I supposed it is worth it to them to pay a premium to be sure and get one. I am one of those that feels it is of a benefit to me to pay the extra to get the subscription and not have to worry about websites crashing and links not working causing me to miss a box that I have always enjoyed getting.

          • Honestly, I have no problem with people who pre-order and I’m not judging them. If you’re happy, then I sincerely am happy for you. πŸ™‚

            My thoughts are different on this, and probably in the minority.

            I personally refuse to reward a company who I feel is taking advantage of a customer. They would be getting money upfront, allowed to use that money for a full 6 months before sending out the last product, and then wants people to pay them extra for that privilege. Oh, and then they may up the price later on? That is greed at its finest, IMO.

            I’ll be sticking with companies who appreciate my business. FabFitFun just sent an email with some good incentives for pre-paying, gives me extra perks and saves me money. They also have a nice little community with employees who act like they care about their customers. I saw where someone threw away a gift card by accident, and they were offered a new one by an employee. No, I don’t work for, or have any affiliation with FFF, even if I sound like I do. LOL πŸ™‚ I just appreciate a company that goes out of their way to make a customer feel special…not having to pay a company extra to actually give them money upfront.

            Or, again, I could just be an old and crotchety hag. Going through menopause, and seeing things like this irritates me to no end, so take that into reason as well.

            Enjoy your boxes, and I’ll live vicariously through everyone’s glee and posts. Who knows, I may even be kicking myself in my own butt by that time. HAHA

            I can’t say I disagree. For some the extra $20 is worth it (and it’s their money to spend, not mine), but I hope a company would be kind enough to reward those who prepay, like maybe they get an extra little something with each box.

          • In the last box that I received there was a full size Algenist POWER Advanced Wrinkle Fighter which sells for 105.00 at Sephora and a full size KNU SERUM
            Anti-aging Face Lift Serum which sells for 150.00. With a cost of 66.00 for the entire box I did not for one moment regret having paid the extra money for the subscription. I work full time so having to sit at the computer at the exact time of release to try and order the box is very difficult for me. I understand that there is no judgement I am just making the case as to why for some of us the subscription price is worth it.

          • I too loved both those products and it was worth it for me. I did see what is in the upcoming box and nothing so spectacular (the Aveno Serum is good but only worth 20) and the Rituals Body Cream is worth 29 but not sure I need that like the face items!)
            but still enough that I think it is worth the price since I share with my family a lot of the items like the Body Wash, toothpaste,etc.

  35. I’m not sure if I should… 199 is a lot at once, what do you guys think? Do you k ow if there will be any available separately? It does mention limited quantities..

    • Everything has a certain limit doesn’t mean it’s a small amount. they just are trying to get people to pay more by making you think they won’t be available
