3B-Box-April-2016-Info

Each month comes with an info card and some simple how-to instructions.

3B-Box-April-2016-1

Benton Honest Cleansing Foam 8g- $0.64 ($12 for full size)

I like this cleansing foam and have received it before in my Memebox Mini K-Beauty Travel Kit. It foams up nicely and doesn't really smell like anything.

It's Skin Color Play Powder Eyeshadow in #16

I received a shimmery pale beige eyeshadow. It swatches sheer and would be wonderful for a bit of subtle color or a highlighter color. I do realize that Korean-branded eyeshadows tend to be more sheer because that's just the style. I also saw that the manufacturing date of this is 06/2013, so this may be old or discontinued stock since I can't easily find this exact line of shadows online.

Swatch of It's Skin eyeshadow.

Botanic Farm Natural Energy Rice Mask - $2.20

This is a nice face mask with a good fit! The rice extract helps purify skin while promoting a clear complexion. The info card also says this is good for people with sensitive skin.

Lador Sleeping Clinic Ampoule - $5 (on sale at Memebox for $3)

I've received this hair ampoule before from another beauty box. This intensive care ampoule is designed to nourish the scalp, help regenerate hair fibers, and provide a protective barrier from dryness or heat styling. The info card says to apply this to damp hair and blow dry or air dry before sleeping. It didn't do much for my hair, but my hair isn't "severely damaged" to begin with.

Too Cool For School Egg Mellow Cream samples

This is a 5-in-1 moisturizer that nourishes and improves skin elasticity. You get not one, but seven foil packets! I combined all of them into a clean 10g jar, shown above. It looks and smells like delicious custard! I apply this at night right before bed. It doesn't feel sticky and I wake up to nice plump skin in the morning. Just a few dabs is enough to cover my whole face, so this should last me a while.

Verdict: This month's 3B Box was ok but not as good as last month's. My favorite is the Too Cool For School cream because it feels moisturizing without being heavy or sticky (plus it smells like custard). I didn't estimate retail value since I couldn't find some items online. Overall this bag was worth $12 to me, but I wouldn't call it a good value per se. I do think there are good months and bad months though! Next month may be better.

Hi Nancy I know this is an older post so hopefully you’ll be able to answer this! I really liked how you put the creams in to one jar, where did you get a jar like that? Was it from an older product and just a re-used jar or do you know of places where I could buy just a small container that’s similar?

It’s funny how on the 3b website it has pictures of high-end products like SK-I, Shisedo, Boscia, and Sulwhasoo. However, from all the unboxing reviews I’ve read, I haven’t seen any box that haven’t sample of one of these high-end brands in it. Mostly the boxes contains average to drugstore Korean products.

I think there is still a wait list on this. Anyone know have yet to get an email?

It took about a month to get off the waitlist.

I was invited to join in March. I believe I signed up for the wait list in February.

Expired/close put makeup is a no-go for me. Especially for products used in and around the eyes of all places. It makes me question the age of the other products since there clearly wasn’t any attention to product safety and efficacy as demonstrated by a three year past expiration eyeshadow. This is usually the hallmark of a sub buying clearance/expired lots on eBay to repackage in sub boxes. There are many other superior, comparably priced K beauty subs that don’t send questionable items to make this worth the risk, $12 or not.

Yeah your concerns are justified. Granted, it was made in 06/2013 but 3-yr-old makeup is cutting it very close to expiration.

I canceled after my first box! The other Korean subs have spoiled me with too many full sized and I just could not do Korean samples!

Which Korean sub is your favorite? I’m still trying to decide which one to get.

You might also look into Pink Seoul subscription boxes too. I got my first box this month and immediately cancelled my 3B box. The Pink Seoul box is more expensive than the 3B and imo I’ve been pretty disappointed in 3B ever since my 2nd month.

I get Memebox and am on the wait list for one of the others. I like Memebox because they bring out new boxes monthly and most of the time you can see what your getting. I’ve gotten some good products and when there is a product a or oil skin I put it up on the trade site so I get other things I want in trade. They are kind of low on boxes right now which means I think new ones will be coming soon. There is a hair care box that is 10.00 for 33.00 worth of product and it’s wonderful when it comes back in stock.

This was my first month with this box. I did not mind this month. But I got It’s Skin Babyface eyeshadow in a shade I would wear. I think the only product I would not use is the hair treatment but I know someone I can gift that to. Well worth the $12 to me.
