Purr Packs is a monthly subscription box for cats.  You can choose from several different subscription tiers, with customization offered for higher tiers (for example, you can exclude certain protein sources in treats).

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

The Subscription Box: Purr Packs

purrpacks-march-2016-names

They put my cats’ names on the box.  Love it!

The Cost:  $24.99 for the Teaser Pack (contains 5-7 items), $29.99 for the Fun & Love Pack (contains 7-9 items), and $39.99 for the Multi-Cat Mega-Pack (contains 9+ items).  This is a review of the Multi-Cat Mega-Pack!

Sneaky and Monkey wanted to look (or sit) inside, too!

Included was an information card detailing some of the items for the month.  It also had some updates and reminders about the subscription plan.

purrpacks-march-2016-kicker

Multipet Loofa Cat Kicker – Value $9.02

These are kind of large.  I have another one that’s very similar from somewhere else and Sneaky ended up really liking it.  So I put this up in the bedroom for her to find later on.

Savvy Tabby Mylar Ball – Value $0.64

I thought this would be Mr. Kitty’s favorite, but actually Monkey had the most fun with it.  He batted it all over the house.

Cosmic Catnip Big Ol’ Catnip Sack – Value $2.99

Catnip toys are always popular.  This one seems pretty sturdy, too.

purrpacks-march-2016-laser

Petstages Laser Fun – Value $8 (?)

I had this same exact item and it died last week.  So this is timely.  This would never work as a laser pointer for a presentation (you can’t aim that well) but it is great for cats to chase.  Mine are all laser pointer addicts (so is Nyx, but after her knee injury, we had to stop).

FYI, the value is a total guess.  I found this listed at 6 or 7 stores and every single one of them showed it as out of stock (or else with a price in British pounds…).

Pet Zone Twinkle Mini Ball of Furry Fury Play-n-Squeak – Value $5.99

This lights up and squeaks on impact.  I know some cat is going to find this in the night and wake me up…  I’m not sure the link is to the exact same item (packaging is different) but it is very similar.

purrpacks-march-2016-lovebug

Cosmic Catnip Love Bug – Value $2.79

This was Monkey’s favorite thing.  He licked it for five minutes when I opened the box.  I took it away for a bit and gave it back later and he licked it for another ten minutes.

Pet Sport Mouse Balls – Value $5.25

This was a miniature tennis ball with a strip of fur.  Sneaky had a good time with it.  It was really hard for me to get out of the package, though.

purrpacks-march-2016-treats

Zuke’s Natural Purrz Tender Chicken (3 oz) – Value $2.63

I haven’t opened this one yet but Zuke’s soft treats have been a big hit with my kitties in the past.

Cloud Star Buddy Biscuits in Tempting Tuna (3 oz) – Value $3.16

Sneaky liked these a lot although they were a bit difficult for her to chew.  (Isn’t it funny how cats always look like they’re chewing but then when they throw up, the kibble or treats they just ate look whole?  Sorry if I grossed out anyone with that question, by the way…)

purrpacks-march-2016-scratchpad

purrpacks-march-2016-sneakypad

Purr Packs Exclusive Scratch Pad – Value $10 (?)

My cats love these.  Mr. Kitty, who doesn’t have his front claws, uses his teeth on them.  The other three just use their claws.  I have been lining the upstairs hallway with them (so Nyx can’t get them, as she doesn’t climb the stairs) and the cats are always most interested in the newest one.

And now for some more kitty photos!

purrpacks-march-2016-monkey1

Monkey looks up from licking the lovebug for one moment.

purrpacks-march-2016-monkey2

Monkey chased the mylar ball all over the house.  At least the parts with hard floors.  Here he is in the half bathroom on the ground floor of the house.

purrpacks-march-2016-monkey3

And here he is in the kitchen.

purrpacks-march-2016-sneaky1

Sneaky was all into the mouse ball toy.

purrpacks-march-2016-sneaky2

Until she figured out I was watching her.  Then she feigned disinterest.

purrpacks-march-2016-madisonsparkles

Mr. Kitty chasing the laser pointer dot.  He always knows when the camera is going to flash and closes his eyes.

P.S. Madison is in this picture, too.  (And yes, every photo of Madison from this session was just like this.  I guess he wasn’t in the mood to have his picture taken.)

Verdict: I calculated a value of a little over $50 for the March 2016 Purr Packs box.  That is about average for a Purr Packs box and is above the price of the subscription.  I would like to point out, however, that the values for the cat toys online were all over the place.  You’d see the same thing selling on two Amazon listings for $5 and $15.  So take the value with a grain of salt, but I’m guessing it probably averages out in the end.  At any rate, there were lots of items in the box and several of them were huge hits, especially with Monkey.  Plus all the cats like the laser pointer.

I love the eyes glowing at the end! I keep going back and forth on whether I want to have this many cat toys monthly for my cats! Though getting scratchers would help!

My kitty got a lovebug in another box and also just licked it and licked it.

Ragan

There is usually one toy in every box that Monkey will do that with.

Cute cats! My cat always tries to eat the paper squigglies. He seems to have no interest anymore sitting in boxes lol.

Danielle

Too cute! My cat likes to lick catnip toys too, but then she proceeds to rip them apart.

This definitely is one of the better cat toy boxes I’ve seen out there, I’ll have to give it a try!

They have a couple of different box sizes if you don’t have as many cats as I do. I will also be reviewing some other cat subs coming up so people can make comparisons.

Since I have no animals right now (long story- hope to be resolved soon) reading your reviews & seeing your furry friends is everything! I’m especially liking Nyx’s expressions lately (!) and seeing the kitties have some good ole fashioned fun with these crowd-pleasing cat toys is the best (Monkey in the box= priceless!)

Sue

Sometimes I think cat subscription boxes should literally just send a box since that’s always the most popular “item”. Cats, amirite?

Ragan

Well, my cats will try to sit in or on just about every box I receive…
