The box included an information card with a list of items and a monthly message.
Petstages Fresh Breath Mint Stick – Value $2.39
Petstages Plaque Away Pretzel – Value $2.39
These are both dental treats. Cats are supposed to be enticed to chew on them and they are supposed to help the cats’ breath and to remove plaque. I am crossing my fingers Mr. Kitty will chew on these a lot because he has dental issues (but his IBD medications make it a bad idea for him to have a dental cleaning under anesthesia).
Ack, Monkey! Let’s try that again.
Polydactyl Cats Popcorn Square – Value $4.99
I didn’t realize it at first but you are supposed to remove the bag. There is an unbagged photo of this (with a cat) below, though. I have seen these in cat boxes before. Polydactyl Cats has a lot of cute food-inspired cat toys.
Waggers My Little Lion Cat Treats in Chicken (2.65 oz) – Value $3.14
These were popular – even Monkey ate one and he is usually not interested in treats. They are what I would call semi-moist in terms of texture and they are made in the USA.
I (Heart) Pet Head Fizzy Kitty Mousse Cat Cleaner (6.7 fl oz) – Value $3.78
The price quoted above is a sale price (more than $5 off regular price). This is a no-wash sort of shampoo, where you spray it on the cat, rub it in a bit, and wipe it off. I was in need of something like this, actually, for the days when Mr. Kitty smells a little or if (God forbid) Madison ever needs a bath. So this product is a win.
And now for what you’ve all been waiting for…
Madison was not in the mood for photos. But I can usually get him to show himself for treats.
Monkey investigates the pretzel.
Sneaky bites the mint toy.
Sneaky bites the pretzel toy while Madison glares in the background.
Mr. Kitty was having a good old time with the popcorn toy (here it is out of the bag). He was rolling all over it. Since he is an almost-12-year-old cat, I was really happy to see him having so much fun with a toy.
Verdict: I calculated a value of about $17 for the February 2016 PetPack for cats. Even if you add the extra $5 from the MSRP of the cat shampoo, that is quite a bit below the cost of the box plus shipping. I know there weren’t any items missing because I received everything listed on the information card. Although I liked each item, I would have to see an increase in value before I can recommend this subscription.
