The card this month talked about this month’s charity effort and the back had a list of products from the box.
Himalayan Dog Chew Pizzle Puffs (1 oz) – Value $4.99
These are single ingredient treats. Nyx has been able to handle beef protein in the past, so I will put these in the lineup to try in the future. (Introducing new foods to Nyx is a very slow process because of her IBD.)
Vanilla Scented Beco Ball – Value $9 (?)
This is only available in the UK, from what I can tell. You can put a treat in there and they are supposed to bounce irregularly because they are not perfect spheres. It seems a bit small for Nyx, though. (I calculated the value based on a guess about the size and the conversion from pounds to dollars.)
Clear Conscience Pet Sliders Chickenstikz (1 ct) – Value $1.66
I’ve seen this brand in subscription boxes pretty frequently lately and they sound like they have pretty good ingredients (plus they’re a US brand). Their big thing is that the ingredients on the food labels are pronounceable. I always laugh at this because I have a PhD in biochemistry and I can pronounce all the long chemical words, too. Nyx can’t have chicken but I am sure my mom’s dogs will love this.
ZippyPaws Jigglerz Bunny – Value $9.99
ZippyPaws toys show up pretty often in PawPack. This is one of the most durable ones we’ve ever received.
Fluff & Tuff “Jessica” – Value $14.95
And another rabbit, in keeping with the Easter theme. This one does seem more appropriate for a smaller dog but we’ll see what Nyx does with it.
Bounty Bites with Lamb & Blueberry (8 oz) – Value $9.99
This package is huge, and the treats are grain free. Also, I like that the protein source is lamb, which Nyx can usually handle in small amounts. The base is made from chickpeas and peas, which is great. And these are made in the US!
Go Go Cow Ear – Value $1.18
I don’t think this one was smoked like the product I linked to, but it is otherwise pretty similar and the manufacturer is the same. Nyx has been OK with beef in the past so I will probably let her have this one of these days.
This is quite possibly the funniest picture of Nyx I’ve ever taken. I laugh every time I see it.
Verdict: I calculated a value of almost $52 for the March PawPack box. PawPack has really been stepping up their value lately, and the ZippyPaws toy was much more size appropriate this month than in past months. I like the quality of the treats, in general; you get more natural and organic products with this subscription. I was pretty happy with this month!
What do you think of the March 2016 PawPack box? Do you subscribe to any dog or cat boxes?
