GOLDEN TOTE 149 MARCH 2016 - items 1

Puella Swing into Spring Dress in Floral Multi – value: $78

(96% rayon, 4% spandex; hand wash cold, lay flat to dry)

I knew I’d be getting this dress as soon as I saw the March spoilers. I’m obsessed with Puella Swing Dresses, and I love the floral print. I’m a little unsure as to whether or not the colors look good with my complexion, though, and I don’t know why. What do you think?

GOLDEN TOTE 149 MARCH 2016 - items 2

Defined Waist Dress – value: $42

(fabric: 95% rayon, 5% spandex; contrast: 100% polyester, lining: 100% polyester; machine wash cold, tumble dry low and remove promptly)

I absolutely love this dress. I can’t wait to pair this with some strappy black wedges! When I first saw this in the March spoilers, I thought it was a skirt and thought “oh, but I don’t have a top like that to pair it with.” I was thrilled when I realized it’s actually a dress. It’s like a whole ensemble already put together.

GOLDEN TOTE 149 MARCH 2016 - items 3

Le Lis Surprise Tank – value: $35?

(Self: 48.2% Cotton, 48.1% rayon, 3.7% spandex; contrast: 100% polyester; hand wash cold, hang or line dry)

This tank is so pretty! I love the pretty blush color and of course the beautiful floral back. Again, I wish I didn’t need to wear a cami underneath, but as you can see, the front is a little see-through.

GOLDEN TOTE 149 MARCH 2016 - items 4

Gili Striped Midi Dress – value: $65?

(Self: 96% polyester, 4% spandex; lining: 100% polyester; hand wash cold, hang or line dry)

This dress is great! I normally feel like midi dresses make me look short, but I actually feel the opposite about this one. I was nervous about my bra/underwear situation because the large white stripes are right on my chest and hips, but when I think about it, it’s actually flattering. The white makes my chest and hips look a wider in comparison to the black band at my waist making it look smaller.

GOLDEN TOTE 149 MARCH 2016 - items 5

Teenplo Striped Wrap Top – value: $25?

(100% rayon; hand was cold, hang dry)

Pardon the fact that the little stripe on my left arm came unbuckled. I love the stripes and pattern of this top! However, I think the design feels a little too scrub-y to me. I’ll probably swap this.

GOLDEN TOTE 149 MARCH 2016 - items 6

Gilli Navy Cold Shoulder Dress – value: $50?

(95% rayon, 5% spandex; hand wash cold, hang or lay flat to dry)

I really like this dress, too! Normally tops like this can be billowy or weird shapes on me, but I feel like this one actually looks pretty good! On top of that, it’s really comfortable and easy to wear. The cold shoulder detail is really interesting as well.

Verdict: I love my March $149 Golden Tote! I think everything is great, almost all of it is completely my style, and I’m happy with how well everything they send me always fits pretty well.

What do you think of my Golden Tote? Did you get a tote this month?

I love your tote! I do like that Puella dress! its very spring! I do see your point that it seems washed out – I don’t think its washed out its just very subtle for your complexion and hair color – on someone with a darker complexion and dark hair, it would stand out more. But with the right accessories, I think it would be perfect. Its a lovely subtle dress and it feels like its on the edge of being too light for you, but I don’t think it is.

I think you got some great items! I just got my March tote and I love it very much! My only reservation was that I received the plain Michelle Scoop Neck Pocket Tee in Teal. Its a t-shirt you could get anywhere, but I really like the color – its just very basic, which isn’t why I get GT. But The rest of the items make up for that one minor thing (I still like the shirt).

I got the Out & About Dress and the Give ‘Em the Cold Shoulder Top. My surprises besides the t-shirt, are an adorable Gilli Tied Waist Dress in Navy (with a bow on the side), Chris & Carol Plaid Pocket Tunic in Grey, and the super soft Chris and Carol Printed Hoodie in Navy!

I skipped February, but couldn’t pass up March especially with the cute bunny tote!

That last dress looks divine on you! It fits you wonderfully! 🙂 I’ve been thinking of subscribing to this but I don’t go out often, I’m taking online college classes and pretty much live in my pajamas. Maybe after I graduate..

Golden Tote actually isn’t a subscription. It’s non-recurring and you can buy a tote whenever you want. You create a style profile that is associated with your login info that you can update and select whenever you decide to order a tote.

No, I don’t work for Golden Tote, lol. I just ordered my second tote and I’m anxiously waiting for it. I think it’s the most reasonably priced out of all the clothing “subscriptions” that I’ve looked into, plus it’s not a subscription so there’s no commitment to buy more.

Long story short, you can buy a tote and you don’t have to worry about receiving/paying for more and/or being inundated with clothes. 🙂

Just Me

Only because you asked for feedback… I think the heathered shades- the blush, that light gray and the softer tones in the first dress make you look washed out. There’s just a lot of ruddiness it seems to bring out. I think by adding a brown belt (as another poster mentioned) and matching sandals or ankle boots to the dress, it would help it have more of a focal point. Between those shades of the aforementioned items and your complexion and hair color, its just a lot of similar undertones, so it all just blurs into an ineffective ensemble, with no features standing out. The stronger pattern and color blocking of the striped gili dress, in contrast, is very complementary and striking on you. The diagonal striped top and last dress also look really good because they aren’t such soft, bland tones, so they actually perk you up, brighten you up and draw light to your pretty face. I think also adding a medium/dark denim jacket (waist or slight crop length) to the swing dress would give it the additional oomph it needs. The second dress is cute in theory, but that lighter gray just does nothing. Maybe amp it up with a bold statement necklace to make it doable? It would have to be bold enough to take the eye away from the pale gray though, so it might not be worth it. Those heathered shades just really tend to wash people out and if you have a lighter, more pale complexion, even more so.

Disagree!!! Both the first and second pieces look fabulous on you! You seriously don’t look washed out at all. Honestly, these all look great on you!

I got the floral swing dress too and I just wish I knew how to wear it! I kind of feel like I’m wearing a mumu – but then a coworker said I looked adorable.

And I have loved anything I’ve seen from Le Lis – I got a nice pink sweater with 3/4 sleeves and a floral pattern for the back panel.

This has been a really good collection that I’m tempted to get another tote!

I agree with Kim – LOVE that last dress!

The striped dress is good for something casual.

That first, flower dress is okay – I’m picky about floral patterns though. The coloring on you is good (truly, I wouldn’t say so otherwise) but it’s not “wow”.

I think it just needs a cute wide brown belt. Redheads always look good in blue–love the last dress–proportions are right on.

Haley!
That last dress is absolutely beautiful!
After watching your reviews of Golden Tote for the past few months, I got my first Tote this month! I love it!
Only thing that I wasn’t sure about was the same stripped top that you have! Glad I am not alone!
Love the last dress!
